Speaking of ethnic or religious statistics, they're forbidden in France since the end of WWII and I think everybody here understands why. As you pointed it, you only have access to the country of birth of immigrants, but for a son or grandson of immigrants you have no information. Concerning COVID, some people get the infection and never know. I had it and had quite the opposite experience. I was lucky not to require hospitalization.
