Rolling slightly off topic, I am getting thirsty offers for Poblado rentals at close to 50% off the going rates. I'm not even in the market looking to move but my whatsapp and facebook are blowing up. I mention this because of the newspaper report of yesterday that said Poblado has the highest concentration of coronavirus cases in Antioquia. It stands to reason because of the higher concentration of foreigners. I would not want to be trying to rent out apartments there right now. The guys who have several of those short term rentals have to be hurting because of the travel restrictions.

Anyway the police have been pretty chill in Centro. I can't say the same for the police in Bogota. They were shown on Caracol the other night cracking heads when people took too long to vacate a crowded park. There are lineups at financial service centers the past few days because people are trying to collect subsidies President Duque granted. It's similar to the US stimulus but no checks are mailed. You have to get the money from designated ATMs or cash outlets. Like you who went out for a run there are more and more people out on the streets during the day. The rules haven't changed but with a little more than two weeks to go it's clear people are going about the business of getting groceries and medicine. There are only supermarkets, grocery stores and pharmacies that are open for business as usual. Restaurants are still delivery or take out only, mostly delivery. I know first hand of somebody who got the dreaded 936,000 peso fine. She was not able to make a case for being out for an essential purpose. My experience is if you can come up with one of the main exceptions (grocery, pharmacy or care for an elderly person) and if you are not loitering then you aren't going to have a problem. The traffic is so light it's going to be a shock next month when the quarantine is lifted.

Anyway, just an update. My new esposa and her kitten are firmly entrenched in my apartment. His & Hers bathrooms, the cat wakes me up fucking around at 7 am, she sleeps until after I am done working out. I went for a run, today, up and down the hills of Poblado. My time has been spent working out, cooking, working, tv / music, and video games (thankfully, I gave a PS4 to a local my last trip, and then took it back for the quarantine). I'm not a "casa" guy but they must be getting some type of pay from the Casa whether they get pulled or not. Kind of like a minimum amount and additional money when they get pulled. Makes sense because why would they show up and spend a day there with no pay. In other words they know they are going to make perhaps 20 K to 30 K for being there. And I suspect most of their families have been told they work in a store or something like that as cover to what they really do.

I am sure there are other members who know how the "casa" system works relative to pay. I remember years ago when I used to patronize the "casa's" I would do exactly what you did, get the girls numbers and meet them at my Hotel.

The traffic is so light it's going to be a shock next month when the quarantine is lifted.[/QUOTE]Hopefully Colombia will be spared of the carnage in progress in the USA, I don't condone cracking heads, but Colombia is at least enforcing the quarantine which hopefully is helping, in lieu of light enforcement activities, at least in Southern California where I am at has been happening, but I suspect will change when the infections skyrocket over the next few weeks.

As far as apartment rentals in Poblado, the vast majority of people renting are from the USA so supply is going to outstrip demand for quite a while as I don't see Colombia letting anyone from the USA or Europe back into the Country until there is a proven vaccine approved by WHO and certified like the Yellow Fever Certificate required of other Countries. So there's going to be a lot of vacant apartments and super low rents as you mentioned for probably the next year.

For a real estate investor, the coming months will be a great time to pick up luxury rental properties at bargain basement prices from owners wanting out.

I think Fase dos and the like have stricter work rules than casas. You can come and go as you please at casas and it's harder to get fired. More than anything else however, casas offer the girls discretion. They get to see the potential customers before deciding whether to show themselves (we've all seen them peeking at us from behind curtains). You don't have that option on tinder or at strip clubs. It's very easy to be discovered by a relative, spouse or anybody on tinder or in strip clubs.

The problem most guys with street girls is they are unable to figure out who is in the game and who is not. You have to sit and watch to learn who is who. You mean IF the quarantine is lifted. Cases are going up, not down.

The girls there are not that hot, they will dance with you for tips. Beer is cheap there, but you don't get much action, the DJ sucks, IMHO.

Yes, that is the same advice I gave her. Everything is up in the air of course with the quarantine.

There is a push for so-called humanitarian flights to repatriate Colombians who are stranded in other countries. It is gaining momentum on social media. That might be a ray of hope for foreigners with residency who want to get back here. The catch is a 14 day quarantine is likely. That's not a big deal, the whole damn country is on quarantine anyway. Yesterday humanitarian flights were allowed out of El Dorado for mostly South Americans. Some of them have been stuck in the terminal since before the quarantine. The ones who didn't have money for hotels or food slept on the terminal floor and foraged. President Duque was heavily lobbied before he gave in and let them out.

SARS, which is similar to covid 19 has been around for 16 years and no vaccine has been developed for it to date. This is worst than SARS.
