Been there many times in the past but not in a while, and some personal relationship stuff just ended so thought I would reward myself. After a little research here, decided on the Alicia Beach Hotel, and that was a great choice!! Highly recommend the place. Quiet area, decent property, a comfortable bed, hot water, good A / see, and excellent staff and security. Cash only, sent them a reservation request a few weeks prior and they held the room without a deposit. In fact, they are cash only, so be prepared. The taxi ride to / from the airport is $30 now, not bad as it was $25 last time I was there 10 years ago. Oh, make sure you do the ETicket deal to get in and out of the country; it is free but you have to have it to get in or out. I printed mine on paper, but you can do it with a QR code on your phone.
I do a little scuba diving every morning, it's not great diving but something to do and fun to be on the water no matter what. That gives me the afternoon and night to play.
I did a total of 6 chicas in 5 days. Two were street rat failures, two were truly diamonds in the rough, and the other two were kind of outliers. My two duds were classic street rats and I almost knew they would be lousy as I took them to the hotel. Minimal interview and they agreed too quickly to what I wanted and were ragged looking. As others have recommended here, a little interview goes a long way, and my best two (photos at the end) were classier looking ladies, somewhat well dressed and could carry a conversation even if in Spanish. Yesterday, I had Ms. "I'm young" and Ms. "Leche" blow up my phone all day. In typical West Coast fashion, I just ignored them and hoped they'd get the hint. Nope, they both got me on the street asking to see me again. Both were very persistent, so I did something very un-Seattlelike. Daytime is less busy but actually I met my best two during the day! In the evening a lot more choices and all girls will share their phone numbers with you for later appointments. Interviewing is a must and making good choices is a must.

Sosua is everything that I spent my entire existence trying to get away from, and here I am, back again. It really does remind me of East 14th Street in Oakland when I was growing except the women are better looking and I don't have to dodge bullets. I think I've outgrown this place and this may be it for me. The person I spoke to yesterday basically said, "youve moved past this, why are you going backwards. There are classier places to get laid.
Anyway, on to fucking. Woke up this morning to a nasty text from someone that was angry because she spoke to me on the street and I ignored her. She said I made her look like an idiot in front of her friends. I apologized and invited her to breakfast with me. I explained that I didn't mean to be rude, but I am harassed all day, I just tune everyone out. So, we go to breakfast and she immediately asks for the dinner menu and orders filet mignon. I wasn't surprised because, well that's what a hood rat would do. I also wasn't surprised when she took two bites and then said she was full; that's what hood rats do. I was surprised when I saw she had put a picture of the food on social media and added the caption "I always win" to it. Yes, I guess if winning is sucking some random stranger's sweaty dick, then yes, she won.
Anyway, she tried to get money from me to get her nails done so she could look nice while she's working. No. That didn't happen. Then she basically asked me to fuck her so she can have money for food (the irony). That was also a no.
So, I spent the afternoon hanging out with a couple of people I met here and the was a chica that I had been watch for a few days. She always does her makeup nicely and wears nice clothes (instead of throwing on some spandex and shaking her ass in the street). So, I invited her to the Waterfront Restaurant at Playa Alicia and told her she needed to change her clothes. She agreed and we had dinner together (she was 30 minutes late), but she showed up wearing the perfect outfit. She was sexy as fuck but she definitely did not look like a hooker. I was extremely impressed. After dinner we went to Blue Ice and everyone stopped to talk to her, hug her, tell her they loved her outfit. I think it was good for her because she tried to go in several times and they wouldn't let her in. Anyway, she was 4 glasses of wine in and told me if she drinks another glass, I'm going to have to fuck her in her ass. So, I immediately ordered her another glass of wine. Anyway, she's a little tipsy and we go back to my place and it was by far the best sex I've had in several years. I was worried someone would think I was killing her because she was screaming at the tip of her lungs. She grabbed me and stuck it in her, so I even raw dogged her. Anyway, I paid her an undisclosed sum of money for dinner, dancing and sex (some people here would be pissed at what I gave her) and (of course) she ask for 500 pesos more for a taxi.
So, I went back to Blue Ice and hung out until they closed and came across a Haitian chica that had been after me all week. So she asked for 3000, I couldn't refuse. I immediately put her in the shower because I had seen her on the street all day. She came out and she was another incredible fuck. Not as good as the Dominican but, damn. So, after a week of nothing but bad sex, the last two I encountered made the entire week worthwhile. I'm now off to Santo Domingo and then to Peru on Sunday.

I'm still on moderation from 10 years ago when I was excoriated by the few negative nabobs that used to control the Sosua Forum, for saying anything nice about Sosua, or the locals.
A couple of issues still burn into their psyche to this day, like the time I bought a coffee pot for my regular, who's place I used to stay at when in town. That became "a stupid gringo buys kitchen appliance for hoes" LOL.
Another time also years ago, I allowed how I let my regular (7 years at that point) carry my shit when we were out and about. I wear shorts, carry no man bag, and like to travel light, so I give her my wallet, glasses, cigarettes, lighter, phone, charger, keys, a pen, meds and walking around money, for concho fare and stuff she needs from the colmado for kitchen supplies, to carry in that portable safe she calls her bolsa. That became "stupid gringo let's hoes carry his wallet! LOL.
All these years later, they still bring it up, see Mr. E's post here 3 days ago! LOL.

It's funny, but my thought at the time was that it was simply a misunderstanding and we'd have breakfast and I'd take her back and fuck her and everyone would be happy. The photos she showed me were great. She didn't look anything like her photos. She had such a shitty attitude when I met her, that there was no way I was doing anything with her. The result was a filet mignon and (you're going to laugh) another angry text this morning about how I thought she wasn't good enough for me. I didn't read the whole thing. I just blocked her ass. My daughters would be rolling their eyes right now if they saw this, they always tell me that I when I encounter assholes, I always try and make peace with them and then in the end I finally get pissed off and then do exactly what I should have done in the beginning (like tell them to kiss my ass) and I definitely should have just blocked her ass in the first place.
Someone else mentioned that I paid 5000 pesos. I think I may have paid one that when I couldn't remember where I put my wallet and she spent 30 minutes looking for it with me. She was only 4000, I gave her 1000 because I kept her at my place until my wallet was found. With the exception of the one I took to dinner and dancing and drinking, the most I paid on this trip was 4300 (I usually add 300 for the moto so when they ask I tell them them they already have it). As I said, I don't barter, so if you're budget conscious, you can probably do much better. The last one kept asking me what I was willing to pay and when I didn't respond, she said 3000 and I immediately said yes. She then said, "you were going to take me no matter what I say". I said, "yes". I'm sure she was just kicking herself when she left, I got every dollar worth.
