Does anyone know of any places to check out in Can Tho?

I don't expect there to be much of a scene there, but would be curious since I stop there sometimes.

After all unless we also exchange info as to how to get there, where to stay, where to eat, things to do, places to avoid etc how could we define a nice and safe mongering enviroment.

Can Tho is a pretty large provincial city so there is quite a bit of action there according to the guys at WSG. Not experienced it my self but understand that there are massage places where arrangements can be made for a rendezvous at your GF hotel. Also some KTV type places with same deal.

My impression in general is that provincial and non-tourist Vietnam is a lot more relaxed with less police harrassment. Just be aware that the local SYT that you meet on the street or in a shop is going to want to be discrete about coming to a hotel with you in her home town.

Imagine its OK for expats here who know the lingo (like Johndao etc) but for us tourists its hard going but far from impossible. But 7 days into my visit and all I have to show is 1 mediocre shag and 2 happy endings in Massage/saunas.

Suggest you fill your boots in Thailand, as I did, before you head here.

Will cobble together a report (for what its worth) before I leave.

I was very very surprised by not being able to spot any coffee shops / MPs / Karaoke houses / etc. that would mostly provide extras. When asked my friends, they said that government has cleaned up the country sides pretty well. You really need help from locals to bring you to those that are still in business. Can Tho is a very nice, rather 'cleaner' city and has lots of nice girls working near Ninh Kieu? Bac My Thuan / Bac Can Tho but you do need help from someone who really knows the area. When I was there last time, 8 of us visited an 'Karaoke' place (no sign & sort of hidden). We had a blast with around 10 young clean beautiful girls. We had 3 cases of Heineken (several bottles were used used to wash the jr's & sonsumed by the girls). The rules were just to pay for the beers & food. The girls partied with you, just needed tips (no bargains or price pre-set at all even FS were fully provided & received). However, IMO, the easiest place to party is still SG despite the price a little steeper & if you are not carefull enough, you may be ripped off or even robbed. Again, should make friends with the locals wherever you go, you will find 'happiness' as well.

You will never be able compare Thailand with Vietnam. Its like comparing apples and oranges. Even within Vn, saigon is very different to hanoi, hanoi is very different to Danang etc etc. If all you are after is to find a girl, pay her money, fuck her, and that's it, then of coarse spend moe time in Thailand. Vn is a different game altogether. You have to learn the game, but your cock will be well rewarded.

Just returned to home base (Philippines) from a visit to Vietnam and, as the pooning part of the trip wouldn’t have been anywhere near as fruitful without ISG, I felt duty bound to record the relevant parts of the trip here. It was a 3 country trip (proceeded by India and Thailand) and consisted of leisure, work and play (mongering) in descending order, although in Thailand the sequence seemed to mysteriously reverse itself:D. If its all old hat to the VPV’s (Vietnam Pussy Vets), I apologize in advance and please just give the thing a swerve.

Saigon - only spent 2 days in Uncle Ho-Ville. Any place where crossing the street is a full-on survival exercise is not my kind of town. Put off any potential adventures by negative comments on the ease of snatcherating by the HCMC experts here. This would not normally stop me indulging in a spot of attempted pooning, but as I had just come from Bangkok, I was hardly gagging for it so didn’t try.

Nha Trang – nice place with a good, long, if dirty beach. Saw what looked like a dead baby washed up by the tide one day, which on closer inspection seemed to be a large chicken (I think). First night I tried to find a hot toc/cat house recommended in a quite old report but the place had been converted into a hole in the wall German restaurant! Later, on the street, caught the eye of a girl being driven around on the back of a scooter. During the remainder of my short stay I visited 2 MP’s. Hanoi is like HCMC but with more scooters and pesky touts (if that’s possible) so I did the main sights in two days and scarpered off to Haiphong to see what Do Son had to offer.

Haiphong – always wanted to come here as reference to the place in a tune in the 80’s musical ‘Miss Saigon’ stuck in my mind for some unfathomable reason. Busy sort of place with some nice old French colonial building and leafy boulevards in the old part of town. As I was preoccupied with Do Son, I did not attempt to monger here, but I did notice plenty of Karaoke joints and some ‘Thai’ massage parlours. Also noticed a few SW’s along Tran Hung Dao, near the naval base. It was dark and they were stood under the trees but quality didn’t appear to be very high.

Do Son - LP calls Do Son a honky-tonk town which is all right by me as I like honky-tonk. It also calls Halong City hell, so its obvious that any sniff of paid heterosexual sex up their sanctimonious noses is highly offensive, although they are quite happy to promote pervert (queer) bars where male prostitutes hang out, calling them gay meeting places. That outfit must be staffed by raging poofters and dykes. Rant over. Do Son is actually a historic (a famous naval battle occurred nearby) and scenic place that suffers from the lack of a real beach. But I hadn’t come for the sights.

The brothel area is easy to find. I had the bus from Haiphong (12 thou – 30 mins) drop me in town so I could snaffle some grub and a glass or two of the excellent draught Haiphong bia hoa (2500 dong – must be the cheapest quaffable beer in the world). Then followed my nose up to the sea where there is a large model of a galleon and a statue of 2 bulls with enormous hard-ons, fighting (the bulls fighting, not the hard-ons!). Place is also famous for its bull against bull fighting contests. Hang a left at the sea wall and you will see a large block of scruffy tenement hotels, facing the sea, at about 400 yards distance (see photo). That is Do Sons infamous red light area.

The first hotel as you approach is the Thai Loi. I used 3 different ST hotels over the 2 days I visited and found that the Thai Loi had far and away the cleanest and nicest rooms. The price is always the same whichever hotel that you choose (I counted 8 but there may be more). The procedure is always the same. If they don’t approach you first, simply enter the hotel and the proprietor will approach you. They know exactly what you want and a couple of girls will mysteriously appear. If you don’t like what you see, shake your head and they will be shooed away to be instantly replaced by 2 more, until you hit upon one you like. Quality is reasonable but no stunners. All in the 18-30 age range with no grannies. Also of the 4 girls that I had over 2 days there, none had had brats so that all had fairly fit bodies. Remember this is a local (and Chinese) scene and they would not put up with any Pattaya style beer bar hags with droopy tits down by their knees, such as are foisted on the ignorant farang there.

Once you find your temporary honey, you pay 150000 dong and slap her ass upstairs. Of the 4 girls I fucked, 1 gave excellent service (for which I tipped her 50 thou), 1 gave good but not outstanding (I gave 20 thou), 1 average (no tip) and 1 poor (lucky she didn’t take the window shortcut back downstairs;)). Although they were very scrupulous about personal hygiene, checking your equipment, and condom use, remember they are 5+ customer a day wh@res and so, whilst enjoying yourself, always take great care. The poor performer spent so long examining my perfectly clean and serviceable weapon that I expected her to plant a ‘best in show’ rosette on it! And then she had the temerity to refuse to blow it. But at 8 dollars a pop, hey who gives a shit. Bring on the next one.

Only one (the great performer) allowed photo’s and she was a kinda fun chick. Not particularly pretty, but she had a nice curvy bod with decent knockers. She was game for most things but wouldn’t allow CIM or COF but maybe that was because I hadn’t offered enough tip. She was up for anal but, thinking about safety, I wasn’t. So I finished on her tits. Bless her, she offered me seconds, but, having arrived twice already that day, I couldn’t manage a third pop within the allotted hour.

All in all, Do Son is worth a visit if you like your fun ‘down and dirty’ at bargain basement prices. It is actually a lot of fun but don’t travel halfway across the world to visit it. It’s not that special but with the undiscovered Viet & Chinese mini-Pattaya (Bai Chay) a short distance away, then the prospect might be more inviting.

Halong City – With an incredibly beautiful natural setting and a harbour as spectacular as Hong Kong’s, Halong City (Bai Chay) is waiting for the tourist explosion that has not really occured. So in the meantime it makes do as the sun, beach and sex capital of the region, but instead of go-go bars, there are Chinese style karaokes and MP’s in profusion. And literally zillions of hotels for the smallish number of end of season tourists so room rates are very competitive - $15 dollars for a room that would cost over $50 in Pattaya. And girls are easy to find.

On my first day of two spent there, I met a xe om driver who didn’t seem to be the usual sleazeball, so hired him for half a day to show me around. Instead of heading for the nearest commission paying MP, he did what I paid him for, for which I tipped him handsomely. In return he called a prominent local mamasan called Hanh for me, who said that she had over 60 girls and all I had to do, when ready to party, was to ring her and she would deliver a cracker to my hotel room. Couldn’t that night but the next night I gave her a call and she was as good as her word. Within 20 minutes there was a knock at the door and there was Hanh with 2 cuteys in tow. One was a 7 but the other girl was a definate 8 or maybe a 9. She was 20, fairly short but with a great pair of knockers on her. The rate was 300 thou for an hour but I negotiated a 2 pop, 2 hour session for 500. The girl seemed quite inexperienced and I had to take the lead and tell her exactly what I wanted but she mostly complied and tried to please. A good session to end my mongering trip in Vietnam. I have Hanh’s number if any member is passing through Bai Chay and need a reliable Madame.

The next day it was back to Hanoi for my flight out. So that was it, a mix of the good, the bad and the indifferent. Would I go back? Sure, Vietnam is a lovely country with tremendous people and lovely women. Need to learn a few words of Vietnamese first, though.

On Viet women – apart from the odd stunner, I didn’t think Vietnamese women are quite as attractive as those in neighboring countries. They do however seem to have larger breasts for some reason but their looks are often let down by poor teeth (calcium deficiency in childhood?). They are also shrewd businesswomen and are not adverse to some pretty sharp practices to make the odd dollar or two. I advise counting your fingers after shaking hands with a Viet woman (or man if it comes down to it). With their hats and their face masks, they look like so many Paddington Bears off to commit armed robbery, anyway!!

On Viet Men – the world, and in particular the French, Americans and Chinese, know that they have enormous balls, but do they have to be so fucking aggressive all the time. I’m very careful to avoid confrontations with locals wherever possible when abroad but still I got into pointless, meaningless, aggressive situations twice with macho local boys, whilst in Vietnam. WTF – maybe just my bad luck?. They are also very tactile and I lost count of the number of times that my arm was squeezed and stroked by xe omsters, usually accompanied by a salacious grin and the whispered incantation that they all seem to use ‘hullo, motorcycle, massage, boom boom’. If you are a Brit like me and uncomfortable with male to male contact, better get used to it fast.

It would be hard to understand paying 150k for that as opposed to 300k for a 8-9/10. Yeah, facially the Do Son girl wasn't up to much but her body was OK. And her attitude couldn't be faulted.

The reason no pics of the stunner was not because she refused photo's but because I had been on a boat trip in Halong Bay (highly recommended) during the day and used my camera a lot and then forgot to charge up when I got back to the room. I gather that lack of competition makes air fares quite expensive, unless there are some local cheap airlines.

I would also appreciate madame Hanh's phone in Bai Chay, by PM if necessary. At my age, I tend to forgo the adventures and prefer to monger in comfort.

Any hotel recommendations?

Air Asia in to HCMC from Bangkok and also out from Hanoi to KL. Both flights very reasonably priced.

In February any hotel will be desperate for your business so strike a hard bargain (walk-in rates are always negotiable). But if you intend using room delivery from Hanh, do not use one of the myriad of mini-hotels as many are not GF.

Thanks for the Da Nang info guys. Without your info I would have been lost. The first night I was with some business partners who didn't want to have fun. The second and last night I had only an hour so I used it constructively and ran to the VIP club in the Royal hotel and quickly found a good looking woman for 1 mil. There looked to be a good selection there so that is the place.
