Ah, thanks. I maintain that this particular 2.3% of the GDP would represent a far greater gain to the working class that a lot of the rest of it due to the v low economic and educational barriers to entering the industry.

Terrier, your response to my post is just plainly stupid. Of course my English is not prefect, as I am not a native English speaker. You may want to re-read your mail, as it’s not so hot either. I also did a quick check when did you last post to the Photo Gallery. Sorry, correct me here, I could not find any recent entries.

Now back to the embassy situation. Yes, of course many Thai P4P pros seek the social protection of western societies, as Thailand provides none. In that sense they are simply economic nomads. No different from thousands of Mexicans crossing the border to the US daily or Africans getting washed up on the shores of Malta. I.e. money for nothing...

I cannot see any reason why any government should let these people in. Truth is Thai sex pro's end up doing overseas exactly what they doing here, screwing for money.

However the presence of these girls at the embassies is disturbing, to an extend that a number of Thai's think twice of applying for visas. Recently I spend quiet some time at one particular embassy, hence my observation. I then talked to Thai friends and yes, they do confirm this.

Yes, Retired Army. This is a different story altogether. I must say that I only can shake my head to see a farang importing his little Thai sweetheart (i.e. ex bar worker) to his home country.

I my previous post I was referring to those girls who claim to visit B/F's etc...

But then again, where is the difference. Even the most dense farang will after some time dispose of his sweetheart once the complete incompatability in IQ and all learned social/cultural issues has surfaced. At that point girls are on their own.

Though the conduct of the embassy staff seems harsh and annoying, I do think that such practices are fully justified.

I've seen a few of these work out reasonably (ie, > 5 years and still going), and it hasn't taken a genius to work out where the girls came from before they got over this way (Europe_.... and, as it happens I have a theory about this for you guys to dissect and shoot down at will.

The girl must have not been in the 'business' for long (and as a result has poor language skills).
The guy must be a bit long in the tooth and wondering if he'll ever get the family thing sorted out.
The guy must be somewhere between lower middle and slightly upper middle class.
The girl must be the quiet type.
Kids are needed quickly.
Oooh... very important, the guy mustn't be a hard core mongerer - ie, the girl he's with has to be pretty much the first one he saw off the plane.
The relationship must not take place in Thailand.

Now, my sample space for these observations is pretty damned small - 2 successful couples, but they both share all of the above traits.

I've seen a boatload of them fail 'in country' (although every now and again you hear of someone who's been going a v long time). I've also seen, umm, a few failed ones where the girl left the country - once more my sample space is pretty small; maybe 3 or 4.

When I stop think about it, I have seen more non bargirl relationships come to Europe and fail than bargirl ones. I am sure that is just a weird statistical anomoly..?

biergarten, nana, and soi cowboy

just a mini-report on a short trip to bangkok. this was my second trip to bangkok so i knew what to expect and where i wanted to spend my time.

i booked a room at the majestic suites hotel which is on sukhumvit road near soi 4. the location is great. you can walk from the hotel to nana in less than a minute. or you can ride the skytrain to soi cowboy in less than 15 minutes. i walked back from soi cowboy one night at 3am and i saw a mind boggling array of freelance girls, vendors, impromptu bars and restaurants set up on the sidewalks. definitely a sight to see!

the hotel itself has nice clean rooms, i booked a double to get a little more space and it was just fine. the coffee shop on the ground floor was excellent, breakfast (included with the room rate) was first rate. i had dinner there one night and it was also top notch. i can highly recommend the place. the only drawback was that my room was in the back on the 4th floor, which put me about 50 meters from nana, so from 7pm till about 2am each night i could hear the gogo music thumping faintly through the windows. didn’t bother me too much but light sleepers would want to ask for a room away from the noise.

i arrived from pattaya around 2 pm and after check-in i headed straight over to the biergarten on soi 7. i love this place. i’m just an ugly, middle-aged guy with no charisma but when i step in the biergarten there are 100 hot girls who all want to sit with me, talk with me, drink with me, and bang me. i sat for a couple of hours each afternoon just chatting up the girls waiting for the gogos in nana and soi cowboy to open. i even saw several of the girls that i had last june (my first visit to bangkok). they were all happy to see me and they all looked better than ever. the place was quite full when i arrived and people kept coming in, it was very busy when i left each day around 5:30 pm.

everyone likes to give their two cents worth on the attractiveness of the girls in the biergarten, so here’s mine. when the place was full there were around 100 girls in the place. there were about a half dozen girls who were so hot (9s and 10s) that they could easily be gogo dancers. these girls tend to be selective and some will only sit with the younger, good looking guys, or they will sit with an older guy but not be available for barfines. many in this category won’t even make eye contact with an old troll like me. then there were another couple of dozen girls (7s and 8s), really good lookers in my opinion, rep001tered around the room, quite friendly and eager to sit with anybody. then of course the majority of the girls, maybe 50 or so when the place is really full, who are reasonable attractive, maybe a little older or heavier (5s or 6s) than we would want them, but still girl friend material. then there are another 25 girls or so that are just not very attractive at all (4s and below) who survive by tagging along with their good looking friends, or by giving free back massages. in summary, nowhere near the quality level of a nana or soi cowboy gogo bar, but plenty of quality if you’ve got the patience and know-how to get the attention of one of the top 25 percentile.

i spent one evening in nana entertainment plaza, right around the corner from the hotel on soi 4. i must have been in a cranky mood or maybe i was especially ugly that night but i was just not clicking with any of the girls. i went in all my favorite spots, the silver dragon, spanky’s, lollipop. i even tried sweet talking a so-so looking waitress in the big mango and she practically ignored me. finally i headed out and in my desperation i pulled some beefy freelancer named mam from the nana car park. sheesh! i could barely finish, she was just not hot.

i spent another evening in soi cowboy. this was my last night in bangkok, in fact my last night in thailand, so i decided to maximize my fun, i got there when the bars opened (7:30 pm) and didn’t leave until they closed the last bar (2:30 am). i had the greatest time! all night long i had hot, sexy girls climbing all over me, grabbing me, kissing me, begging me to barfine them. in most of the gogos i had two girls taking care of me, one one each side. i can’t explain why this experience was so good compared to my nana experience. i spent time in baccara, shark, midnite, dollhouse, black & white, tilac, long gun, and cowboy 2. they were all great!

especially memorable were shark, where i had two 20-year-old stunners competing for my attention and crawling all over me; long gun, which was absolutely deserted when i went in, and so all the dancers paid me a visit as they finished their turn on stage; tilac, which ran out of gogo girls around midnight and so the very hot service girls stopped serving drinks, took a turn dancing topless on stage, and practically raped me when their dance was over; and black&white, where i had a procession of superhot gogo girls on my left side while a chubby-but-cute service girl tried to "get my attention" on my right side. unfortunately by closing time i was too wasted to barfine anybody so i just headed back to the hotel and went to sleep.

so there you have it, i enjoyed all three of these venues (biergarten, nana, soi cowboy), but the winner by far this time around was soi cowboy. i had an awesome time, spent 7 hours hopping amongst 8 gogos, spent about 3000 baht (100 bucks) on my drinks and ladydrinks. wish i had had one more night in town, definitely would have gone back and barfined one of those shark girls.
