I can only assume you are a Trump disciple
.
One of the reasons nobody believed Covid was real was that it devolved into the typical partisan war. In fact, one writer called it the Trump virus. So this virus, which came from China and whom Biden thinks is not a threat BTW, was divided into people who care about it and people who do not.
Covid is VERY fucking real, and HCQ was studied for Corona Viruses treatment and found to be an effective treatment for said viruses way before Trump got into office. Now of course, HCQ, which is a cheap drug, is the most dangerous drug on the planet. In reality, it has been so safe that it has been around for 70 years and used for prophyaxis for Malaria and to prevent exacerbations of people having Lupus.
I made fun of someone who blamed Trump for his not being able to get laid in Colombia. Now TDS has reached that point again, having sex with hooker one time in Colombia, a literal one in a million chance of getting Covid, is near certain death as is using an incredibly safe drug.
The real reason Texas has been the epicenter of the Covid storm recently is that the governor allowed people to gather in mass numbers again, up to 500. Politically, he didn't want to tell people they couldn't go to church and even if they did, said that they did not need to wear masks. This was a huge fuckup. He was upset he let the bars reopen, but it wasn't just the bars, it was the churches where people spew the virus by singing.
The problem with HCQ and with dexamethasone with long term use is that they suppress the immune system. So in theory, by suppressing the immune system, you make yourself more vulnerable to infections. That is what Lupus is, the body attacking its own soft tissues with antibodies.
So it is a little bit more complicated than good drug, bad drug. In fact, you want to use immune boosters like Elderberry prior to getting infected. When you start to feel sick and Covid is diagnosed, then you chuck the Elderberry and especially ibuprofen and go with HCQ and dexamethasone. Since the virus spreads via ACE receptors in the lungs, it is probably a good idea to get off ACE and ARB blood pressure medications as long as Covid is around. Also, you normally want to push fluids with an illness, but doctors have found it better to keep people dry which probably has to do with keeping aldosterone levels low.
And if you do not understand any of this, then by all means, quit giving out political advice that is disguised as medical advice. Politics is what got us into this mess to begin with.
If I had my way, we would be doing all we could to shift the infection from the very old where it is deadly to the very young who rarely if every die. The isolation should be isolating the young from the old not from everyone. That would achieve herd immunity and a minimal amount of death. Now though politically that is not achievable, (you are for infecting the Children!!!) and the total count of those infected is being used against various governments around the world. It never made sense to shut down the schools.
So the treatment for Covid, complete destruction of the economy, has been worse than the cure because of the politics and probably will result in more deaths than the virus ever did.
I think Sweden was the model of common sense. If you look at the number of deaths overall and due to Corona, you can see the response to Corona was worse than the Corona itself.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/525353/sweden-number-of-deaths/
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1105753/cumulative-coronavirus-deaths-in-sweden/
So now a corona death is a 100X worse politically than a death from cancer or heart disease and in Colombia, they have painted themselves into a corner. If they open things up now, Corona cases explode and the president will be vilified, so his only response is delay, delay, delay at least until after November. Then you will start to see stories about how the Corona threat was way overblown in terms of death and way under weighted in terms of going into massive debt and destroying the economy.

I'm only wondering if Hydroxychloroquine is available over the counter in Medellin. Thanks.
You do know that Hydroxychloroquine is an incredibly dangerous drug -- with side effects that can cause stroke and blindness-- right? I don't know whether you could find a pharmacy in Colombia that might sell it to you without a prescription. But there is no way you should be taking it except under a doctor's supervision.
Please stick to Viagra, not without risk of course -- they say you should call your doctor if you have an erection lasting longer than four hours, but I recommend calling an 18 year old Paisa instead.
I wasn't asking for advice about the efficacy of the drug. I merely wished to know if Hydroxychloroquine is available over the counter in Medellin. Thanks.
A chick I know usually doesn't wear makeup. Yesterday I saw her profile picture changed to one with light makeup. I went WOW. It's amazing how much a little makeup can do sometimes.
There are some women that are completely transformed by makeup. I know a couple of professional make-up artists in Colombia and often the before and after look like 2 different people.
I prefer the ones who can spend 45 seconds in front of the mirror and look perfect.

Why?
HCQ has not been shown to be an effective treatment for COVID-19. ONE study out of France suggested it has efficacy and it's more or less been debunked by a plethora of truly randomized placebo controlled trials. The French trial was observational and did not have appropriate controls. With respect to it's safety, it can be a damn dangerous drug. Just because an agent has been around for 70 years and has been shown to be effective at treating certain conditions does not equate to safety. It's a risk benefit ratio where the risks are worth taking if the drug benefits the patient. Taking a drug with no proven efficacy one assumes all the risk with no potential benefit. I'm an infectious disease doc (25 years) and I can't even remember the last time I considered prescribing HCQ.

This is what was published in 2003. The article was entitled Effects of chloroquine on viral infections: an old drug against today's diseases: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(03)00806-5/fulltext
Chloroquine / hydroxychloroquie has a well-studied toxicity profile. The half-century-long use of this drug in the therapy of malaria demonstrates the safety of acute administration of chloroquine to human beings. The use of chloroquine / hydroxychloroquine in rheumatic diseases and for antimalarial prophylaxis showed a low incidence of adverse events during chronic administration of this drug for periods of up to a few years. In these cases, the most serious toxic effect is a macular retinopathy, which depends on the cumulative dose rather than on the daily dose, and permanent damage may be prevented with regular visual monitoring during treatment. 27,28, 29 A recent study30 provided encouraging results on the safety of a high dosage of the drug (up to 500 MG of chloroquine base per day) even during pregnancy.
We conclude that chloroquine / hydroxychloroquine administration presents limited and well-preventable toxicity and may thus result in a low risk / benefit balance at least when it is used in life-threatening conditions.
It is funny even though dexamethasone has a pretty bad side effect profile and a similar mechanism of action, no one mentions side effects but with HCQ, you are going to go blind and have a stroke, and it doesn't work. What is your theory on why the side effect profile of the drug changed?
Because here is my theory: a bunch of Democratic pseudointellectual hacks are afraid that it might work.
The shame of it all is the same political bullshit is happening in Colombia. The mayor of Bogota and Colombian president are competing to see who can be a bigger hard ass on Covid.

If he said sticking a live tarantula up your ass daily was the best cure for erectile dysfunction, a week later we'd need a "Finding tarantulas in Colombia" thread. There would be arguments over whether it's better to insert the tarantula in the morning, or 30 minutes before sex. Debate would rage over Colombian vs Mexican tarantulas, or even US tarantulas. And someone would link the news story about the guy who substituted black widows.

The shame of it all is the same political bullshit is happening in Colombia. The mayor of Bogota and Colombian president are competing to see who can be a bigger hard ass on Covid.
Dems are very afraid that it will work, because when you have an effective treatment available. More or less they see it as a threat to their immense desire to prolong the situation. To move down the goalposts every couple weeks. Because every time progress is made or good news breaks, it's just amazing timing that mainstream media will talk about surges, ignore what counts a case, faulty data, faulty testing (a very real issue), criticize any treatment that is reported to be working in many parts and is backed up by many doctors. To be blunt, this is sadly a very political issue now and it has been for at least. Since April / May. Now it's just keeping everything closed, using it as justification to allow mail-in voting and we know how that works.
Any good news being reported? It will last a few hours or be largely ignored, and then protests! Or a shooting, or {insert distraction here} you name it! And a lot of people are recognizing this now, still not quite enough. But a lot. And it's incredibly sad that the liberals are showing their true colors and intentions. Covid is real, the pandemic is not. You look at reality and try and reconcile it with the things that are being said on the news, and more and more people are starting to see something isn't right here. And that's because there isn't. I know 4 people that have tested positive, 2 had a slight fever, cough, and feeling tired. So typical flu symptoms. 2 were asymptomatic and shocked when they tested positive, have felt 100% healthy and only had to take the test to be able to return to work.
The strategy these days for the left since March. Put out a death estimate, wait 2-3 weeks. Add xx,000 to the previous number, add 1-2 months and repeat. In March it was 100,000 deaths by May, then 120,000 by June, then 150,000 by August, and now the most recent one yesterday was 208,000 by November. At some point you just have to wonder, do they think we haven't figured it out, or won't be able to? People are tired of the negativity and want to get back to normal, not the "new normal" the old normal that can be improved upon when it comes to health. And Dr. Fauci has been wrong every single time since March, even he looks like he wants to just move forward because he doesn't like to be wrong.
