For most passport holders a visa can be obtained on the same day or the next day. Not certain about Indian passport holders but should be the same.

Generally speaking, it doesn't matter how many times you come back to Hong Kong but you will need a visa every time you enter China. A multiple entry chinese Visa is available.

Yeah, Johnny, thanks for this. I reported a while back, after hunting from your reasonably OK if vague directions. Its the East side of Tung Choi St, about no 40, 44, I reckon. Your info on the yellow sign was spot on.

1. Make sure you phone is unlocked and is at least tri-band.
2. Visit any phone shop to pick up local, check prepaidgsm.net for details of all the providers. I use new world mobility but they're all pretty good. About HK$200 for card and some minutes.
3. HK sim won't, repeat, won't work as local in China. In China, buy China Mobile sim card, about rmb$120 for number and some minutes. Keep in mind, beijing number if used in shanghai will cost more as you're roaming....but not expensive.

Last time I bought a local HK number I got some special card designed for filipinas in HK. Although I didn't need the cheap calls/txts to PI it was the cheapest local card available at the time, 30 or 40 HKD most of it load I think. Check the filipina shops.
