Sosua Reports

The one thing that is true is the girls are gone. A few local girls brave a few small venues. Sosua now has no night life. Willie the mayor who owns Classicos and the Casino has wasted thousands on a remodel has moved tables from Classicos to the casino. The big boys are not allowing bars on Pedro Clisante. Halloween will be a bell weather for Sosua. I am predicting a major flob.

I was talking to one of my regulars who works at in all inclusive in Punt Cana. She told me that tourist in Punta Cana was down. Never the less the DR government is pushing a major effort to rebrand Sosua. It is being teed up as family friendly paradise. The targeted market is the light skinned Dominicans. When watching the advertisements there is a lack of brown people unless serving tables. What is obvious that the DR committed to eliminating working girls in Sosua. Willie the mayor who has made millions from sex trade. Being a middle man has been co-opted. He is putting his eggs in the casino at Playa Chiquita. I do not think he had a choice. Some very powerful people are pushing the buttons.

Never seen a pimp in Sosua either.[/QUOTE]I clearly failed to communicate effectively because I said that there was no shutdown of Airbnb just that many hosts who had Guest Friendly in their description box was thrown off the app. My source is the Comprai expat channel on youtube who said he also had his property removed from the app.

He didn't say this directly but Monger to Monger he built his place as a mini all inclusive so that his mainly european guests can have their Haitian Girlfriends stay with them.

Additional there's no one with a multicolor ceramic cup in their hands but there's plenty of chulos on motochoncos.

One thing is true this particular board is kind of a gotcha debate space.

I have no crystal ball nor do I have boots on ground. All I ask is that people BE SPECIFIC everyone who loves sosua says " the girls are around" of course they are the answer is where. Used to be there were Pedro Clisante street concentrated between Sosua Inn and Kings on the corner of Dr. Rosen street.

Same thing about the Crackdown President Luis Abinder's relatives including a cousin has villas in the Sea Horse in Caberete among other investments. There's been a play for years that somehow Criuse ships are going to dock or at least get cruise passengers to come to Sosua.

Cuba Dave started the sky is falling talk in 2011. That's when I heard of him and his mongering buddy Andy Lee Graham. Vin Diesel and A-Rod is making investments on the north coast and Playa bargintin is comming online in the future they put tenders out for the Ambar Highway which will shorten the time for Santiago to Sosua.

The snowbirds are coming and some of them will take the equity in the red hot (overheated) Toronto Housing market and by in Sosua. They would rather not see hoes in Spandex on their way to the Germany Bar or Jolly Rogers for a sundowner.

Frankly if someone had say 20 to 40 million lying around I'd by up as much of the beach and LOS charamicos as a could either snowbirds or developers will buy lots for at least 6 times what you paid that that's now wait till after high season and that land will be cheaper, Take a look on the real estate sites damn near all of El Batey is for sale. The only holdouts is the hard core monger sexpats who bought businesses and are determined to ride it out.

All I ask is before you hit upload Report that you provide SPECIFICS because the anti and the pro passport bros are both right Tourism to DR is way up they just took the tourism awards in France and also Tourism in Sosua is way down as everyone admits and based on Tourist arrivals at POP as stated by Sosua anti Monger Cerise Fairfax.

The reason for the debate is that as far as I can tell this is the first instance that a certain demographic has been discouraged from spending much needed Tourist dollars in a place.

Some far left democrat might label it racism.

I'm not that so lets just chalk it up to a New York Cab saying " No Brooklyn". For the expat what's not to love a great beach super cheap laid back low crime good weather and girls galore.

Being johnny on the spot means you have leverage just like a old maid of mines called me saying she needs some boots for her construction job.

Yes the IG baddies from Santo are gone but there's a cornucopia of coochie from Montellano to Rio San Juan to choose from.

But "New Yorkers" That come down during federal holidays and during major US sporting events never heard of either place if there's not action on PC they stay home.

So unless Callado actually markets to New Yorkers they would assume that what's happening is an invitation to spend your time and money in Cartagena.

One thing will know for certain is that if Holloween is quiet that the Super bowl will be too.

Beside the business play of being line to sell to developers and the possible IMF or UN jobs there's the fact that the PRM might not even win the next elections. By all accounts Luis is looking good excpet for the power situation and the health situation. If you live on the north cost you better have plenty of money so that you can fly to Miami to get treatment.

Willy boy is in another political party. That small party teams up with the Public force and Callado loses his shot at the big hoiuse in Gazcue.

In short there's several good reasons to own land in Sosua whether the girls are there or not Willy could and will sell Classicos and the Casino to whomever will buy.

I haven't been on this site in months and I'm surprised about the Sosua news. I'm taking off for several destinations in a few weeks, I've now added Sosua to my itinerary. I love sitting at Playa Alicia all day and in the old days there would be like 10 people max. The last time I was there, it was almost crowded and every person had their portable speakers. I'll enjoy actually listening to the waves again. Back in the day (10-15 years ago), I enjoyed going out and dancing to Salsa, Merengue and Reggaeton at the clubs (I can only tolerate Bachata in small chunks). Last couple of times there, I had to basically travel outside of town if I wanted to hear anything other than American rap.

My ideal vacation has always been to relax, sit in the sun (I live in Seattle, we don't get much) go dance at night and then bring home a girl. On occasions, I would just hang out with a girl all day. Sosua used to be perfect for that. The last couple of times I went, Sosua was simply too much for me. The noise, the rude men, the non stop hookers constantly harassing me. It will be nice to see a change. It may be different, but for some reason, I don't think I'll have too much trouble finding someone to hang out with me, hell, it might even be easier now that every woman won't be looking to race back to my place the second they meet me. In the end, even if I don't get laid (impossible), I think I'll enjoy a quieter, tamer Sosua.

I'm going to sound like a geek, but sitting on a beach 6-7 hours per day reading a book or doing crossword puzzles is simply heaven for me. I would prefer to get laid occasionally, but if it doesn't happen, I'll live. There are always the massage places there and with the exception of one that I went to last time I was there, they are always good for a quick fuck or BJ. I think the harder part will be no nightlife. I really do like going out at night and having fun. I'm not afraid of Tinder or actually taking taking a local woman on a date (I actually prefer it). Anyway, I have 3 weeks in a couple of other countries to get that done if Sosua sucks. I'll be there on the 22nd and the head to Santo Domingo to fly out to Cartagena for Dio de LOS Muertos and then off to Buenos Aires.

Basically EVERYTHING IS THE SAME the difference is no one can say they're guest friendly. If you stay in the same Airbnb you should be good.

The only difference is that you won't see any chicas on the strip.

If you're like Michael 1967 and you want a nice laid back vacation maybe with a chica everyonce in a while the Sue is your jam If you like a corucopia of coohie to choose from go elsewhere.

It's unlikely that you'll have a chica of your choice everynight of your stay if this is Ok then the Sue is for you.

They just sent me and email out the blue and stated they did a review and I violated their strict policy. It was strange because I had no visitors when in Brazil and previous 2 trips was in 24 Nov and April with excellent reviews. Any how for DR I have a non airbnb connect. But will seek other options elsewhere. They do allow you an appeal.

First workaround if someone is willing to risk it use another account to get them to book you meaning use someone else's account to inquire about a rental and see if they'll rent off app a surprising amount especially in Passport bro central cities will. As a former superhost the average Airbnb gets around 47% occupancy and in Sosua where people buy one bedroom condos specifically to rent they'll defenitely rent off app usually they put their number in like oNe twO thrEe or something like that.

Additionally if you get a new phone a new email and use a different card after a couple of months you can just set up a new account. Again Airbnb kicks people off for reasons and usually it's a host that you pissed off or they're getting in front of you leaving a bad review.

Don't sweat it new email new number new phone and new card you add a new ID like say a passport instead of a Driver's License and you can trick the Algorithm quicker.

I usually go with a buddy, and we love rentals in Sosua. Can have an upscale penthouse or pool villa at a cost of a hotel room (divided by 2). Although, the rates are a little higher this year, but everything is higher nowadays.

On the other hand, with no girls on the streets I don't know how to work around that. I've been visiting Sue on and off for almost 30 years, but never bothered to build a list. It's not about having a girl every night, that's not important, but I'm not a Tinder guy.

A pissed-off host might not even bother with a negative review (for one thing, potential guests don't like reading hosts bitching about other guests), but all it takes is quietly reach out to Airbnb and file a complaint. I would appeal unless it's likely there were more than one or 2 complaints.
