Went to Rio in mid Jan.
Went to regular clubs first and if by 12 or 1 am I didn't swoop some females I went to this place on the main drag in Copa, it had like a bar with a tent outside. Lots of people, and girls there to potentially make some money.
This was my first time to Rio, I'm a 23 yr old American. From my experience alot of these chicks were not conventional hookers. Many would not even approach a guy. I went there 4 nights. First night just scoped it out and got a feel for it. The other nights I talked to females and got them to come back to my apartment for free, one of them even cooked for me the next day LOL. Some other older Americans that where there couldn't believe I was getting multiple girls to fuck for free. I didn't know what a thermal was and never went to one. I'll probably check one out next time I go to Rio.
Anyways, that was my experience, thought I would share it.

The termas prices ive seen on this forum are alot higher than the one guys were telling me about where you pay by the minute, im pretty sure they said 1 real per minute.

[QUOTE=Zingadoon]They will be coming back in smaller groups: when they get done milking the tit and start collecting their pensions, some will wash up in Brazil. Yeah, 1R a minute or less. But if you go back you will see most people who posted original info have stopped posting. Now it's mostly posts by people who have no interest in the Brasil way of life, they want the tourist experience with neon-lit American hoe-house, white sheets and aircon, selling burgers and pussy, where they can talk loud, slap their thighs shouting, "hot dang," and so on. Quite frankly, if Rio is drying up for them I am not really sad. I see the damage that western culture has and has had on so many countries round the world. I love Brasil and Brasilian people, stay there several months of the year, learn much from them, and always have the time of my life there, every year. For me, the scene has not changed, and any price difference from the economic downturn is nominal or non-existent. The variety of the women and the quality of the P4P sex is for me probably the best in the world. If you live and respect the culture, live like locals, there is no reason why you can't have the same. If you just want cheap pussy on a plate and your brain on hold, maybe get a 'connecting' flight to Angeles City or Pattaya or somewhere. Just cos this board has many people constantly whining without making any real effort, doesn't mean it is an indicator of Brasil. Maybe they like to whine. Maybe they like to feel they have lots of 'buddies' on here. Personally I respect you all but don't need you as my buddy based on your desire to sleep with prostitutes. In any civilised country, procuring sexual services effectively in times of need is a detail, like getting your laundry or having the milk delivered at the back door. Gentlemen not finding what they need for the weekend should find a different barber. Whining about the state of your bald patch just makes the club intolerable for the rest of us, who are actually very well sorted, thank you very much.

Similar experience with the Abraham Lincoln. It was the maiden voyage. I remember there was a terrific storm one night and I was sitting in one of the restaurants on Atlantica watching these boys buy the girls beers but nothing was happening. One of the gdps just looked at me and shrugged so I took on of the guys aside and asked him what did they have in mind. He said maybe the girls would go dancing with them?
I told him look. this is not high school. You can take one of these girls home with you right now if you want. Just ask them! That changed everything. LOL. Charming.
I think only Rio can handle that kind of crowd. The GDP network swung into action and they had reinforcements from all over spread out in cafes and bars. This time, the boys seemed to be concentrated in Copa thermas. Too bad help closed. That would have softned the impact some.
I think the Lincoln was built under Reagan so that must have been the late 80s?

Cell phones have been available to the average brasilians for what, about 10 years now? Why dont they have call plans in rio they way they do in the states? Why cant Claro, Tim, Oi, VIVO all have plans where you have free nights and weekends. I am spending fortune in minutes because NONE of the girls can keep credits on thier phone, so they all call collect. After 10 plus years, there is no reason why they cant have better cell phone service in rio. I jjust dont understand.

Plenty of people are making money by keeping Brazil primitive in many aspects of technology. And cellphone minutes versus plans is one of those profitable failures.

That was funny. I love the fact that they have free incoming local and international calls. But as for your answer, maybe you should invest in walkie talkies.

As a matter of fact they do.
I have a plan from Oi that has 3 cellphones, fixed phone and 8 meg internet for R$ 229.
500 minutes for any number with cellphones. Calling between the cells/fixed free.
Pretty good plan.
Just that ho's simply can't get this kind of plans. You need to proof your income.
Also when Oi started service, they promised free weekends for first subscribers for 99 years (if I remember correctly). Those numbers are worth a lot money today.
Also, the cellphone penetration in Brasil is very low. There is no need to lower the prices, people will use the services anyway. Actually Brasil has second most expensive cell services in the world.
I can understand the operators, why lower the prices when you can charge almost anything.

Termas can i do this
Is it ok to pay the cover charge at a terma like 4x4 have a few drinks and flirt around for a few hours than leave. I have an intimacy fetish so I go around giving out foot massages and neck rubs, to the beauties. Pay the 40 or so dollars and leave.
