Walked through Botero / Veracruz today, as I do most days. Some days are quite slow. Police aggressively getting people to move on, nobody allowed to sit down. Once last week there were at least six mounted police units, flushing everyone from the plaza and shitting everywhere. The Botero / Veracruz / Berrío area is at least 98% shut down. Only pharmacies, mini markets, and a handful of cafes open for takeaway only. Everything else is closed. It's always most striking to see Parque Berrío completely empty. Pre- apacolypse, there were at least a couple hundred people there always, maybe more. I pulled a few of the "tea and tinto" girls out of Parque Berrío, it was always fun and a surprise to find out who was selling more than just tea.
Today there was more activity than I've seen recently. More SW's. People were hanging out on the benches in the center of the plaza. Most of the short time hotels are still closed but it's obvious that the girls need work. It was the usual freak show but there were three hotties that I would have been interested in for sure.
I'm not mongering during the quarantine. I shacked up with a woman who I've been seeing for six months. Pre-covid, we'd go out every weekend, for a good dinner and sex all night. Spirit Airlines operated a round trip flight to Medellin today from Fort Lauderdale. I happened to notice it while I was killing time on a flight tracking application while waiting for my lunch date to show up. After I saw that I checked the Spirit web site and sure enough there was one seat available for the return flight leaving Medellin a couple of hours later. Checking further, I noticed Spirit has another flight scheduled for the first week of June.
I assume these flights are operated under the auspices of the US State Department because a few weeks ago I was watching CNN when one of Pompeo's deputies promoted the embassy registration program and recommended US citizens check the embassy web site if they want to get to the United States.
I mention this in case there may be a chance Spirit would bring Americans here. I am guessing it's a not starter and Spirit is dead heading on the southbound but I don't know.

None are open that I am aware of and I haven't heard of any operating on the QT. I did mention here a few days ago that a few of the apartments are operating quietly.
The government already indicated that bars, nightclubs, and restaurants will continue to be restricted if they have capacity of more than 50. That might be an opening for casas. There is also the solo exercise loophole but it is 5 AM to 8 AM only and you are supposed to stay within one kilometer of your residence. That seems a harder way to hook up with girls than just having them to your apartment. Of course you have to have the contacts.

Thankfully, last night resulted in the latter of my two predicted most likely options, in a previous post!

You capture the Botero scene well. Did you notice that about half the benches near Degrieff were removed? I don't remember if that happened since the quarantine or not. I would think normal procedures / restrictions would be lifted based on quarantine and ability to depart the country. I think I'll wait another few weeks before doing anything about it.

As far as bringing Americans into Colombia, well that's not going to be happening for what I suspect a long time. I hope I'm wrong on this one, and something is worked out like in some of the Asian Countries where you get tested before boarding the plane or upon arrival and don't get quarantined for two weeks, if not, tourism and mongering won't be resuming anytime soon until there is a vaccine.
