I picked up a household worth of goods from a warehouse in Moscow, Idaho, a beautiful part of the country, and took it to New Jersey. Don't ask me where in NJ, because to me it's all just NYC west.

Instead a friend from the NFL got him a position as a sport's agent. He figured to eventually earn $300-500 k year until he managed to land a 1st rounder, which would put him in the big money. He settled in NJ instead of gambling and moving into the city because it was zero risk. If him and his wife never made a nickel, they could still live in a safe, nice neighborhood and be comfortable.

Yes, NFL players abuse their bodies. There are serious potential long term risks. Yes, many of them, at least in years past weren't aware of the risks. However, as of the new NFL CBA a rookie will earn a minimum of $610 k their first year. If they're a star add in endorsements. Not a bad starting salary. And if they are medically forced to retire, there's not only the pension but the hero factor. A degree, plus a stint in the NFL. Someone is going to hire you.

Between 32-55% of all sex workers experience workplace violence every year. They get every type of violence from everyone. From their customers to their families, to the police. In many parts of the world, they don't even have any legal recourse. If they go to the police, they go to jail. There aren't many success stories. A few land a position as a trophy wife. Some make it as a model. Most have about 10 years before they age out. Then what? There's no pension plan. The best many can hope for is a pretty daughter to carry on the family business.

Comparing prostitution to the life of an NFL lineman? Free college. Minimum salary in upper class bracket. Retirement plan. Free healthcare and mental health care. I'm pretty sure that every working girl in Colombia would take that job at 10% of the salary.

Yes, there's always drama. Yes, there are many who actually enjoy the work and the lifestyle. But to pretend that they're all living the dream and rolling in cash is ridiculous. The closest you could come is that it's just like most blue collar jobs. Some employees love their jobs, some hate them, most just go to work and try not to think about it. Some are overpaid, most are underpaid. Some have excellent working conditions, most have shitty working conditions.

I really don't have the time or energy to play the game, day in and day out. Without the 11th hour option of going to a casa, strip club, Lleras, Gustos, etc. , I just can't do it. I'm no longer in vacation mode. That ended weeks ago. She's chill, and is good at picking her spots of when to leave me alone or when to distract me.

They are definitely at least in their 50's by now. They have not missed a beat. Always there like clockwork. I had a trip to Medellin on Copa for April and got credit for a future flight. But this is something to consider for people booking flights now or with travel credits. I'd hope the Panamian government bails out Copa given their local importance but if they suddenly go bankrupt you can lose your trip or be stranded mid trip. Any this is something to keep an eye on in these interesting times and definitely get insurance on your upcoming trips.

For all of those who want to return, it would be prudent to wait until the Colombian Government formally opens up the Country, and under what conditions. If one of the requirements is a two week quarantine period, well that will be show stopper for many. Nobody really knows when and under what circumstances Colombia may open up. In other words the Country may be open to other Countries but not anyone from the USA unless everyone is tested etc.

So if somebody buys a ticket now for a future date, and even if they get the insurance, they might get their flight monies back, but what about the insurance premium.

Unfortunately there are too many unknowns and some Countries are being very cautious, Argentina just announced it's closing it's borders until September, albeit Countries in Europe and Asia are open but some with tight restrictions which I suspect is the way Colombia will go, but nobody knows.

The other thing to consider is that once you pay for a ticket the airline has your cash and if they cancel they will stick you with a credit, but you can get a refund, but you will probably have to file a complaint with the DOT which a friend of mine had to do to get his refund from COPA.

So I suggest people should just wait, and believe the first flights back to Medellin will be on Spirit and American, the reason I say this is because they are being bailed out by the US government whereas COPA and AVIANCA have not been given any financial assistance.

If AVIANCA goes belly up it, it will be quite sad, as it is a Company that has been in existence for over 100 years and I believe the only international carrier for the Country. I hope the Colombian government can help them out somehow.
