It is reasonable to see the how and why some girls would command more money than their co-workers in a venue. In fact, I have spoken highly here of my experiences with "Special" girls in the upstairs Mandarin Bar in Nana Plaza who require a 1500 baht barfine vs the regular 700 baht (I think) barfine. I would not consider that kind of upcharge for some girls to be a scam as long as the girls are providing something better than the norm. My experiences with three of those girls over the past year or so were noticeably better than the norm.

However, the 3,000 baht Coyote barfine at Cowboy 2 Bar on Soi Cowboy is where it moves into scam territory IMO because it is so high as to clearly intend to prevent customers from barfining the girls and cannot possibly represent a reasonable upcharge for more or better anything beyond what you'd get from the non-Coyotes there.

So Coyotes wearing different garb might only mean different barfine rates, not that they don't go barfine at all. However, I would be surprised to find out a significant number of Coyotes wearing those tights / pantyhose in and around the bars also have barfine rates that can be quoted or offered, upcharged or not.

However, my impression of the situation in Mandarin, where I have paid the 1,500 barfine for their "Special" girls vs the regular 700 baht barfine, is that the management has some control over either screening the girls to find out what they are up for before granting them "Special" staus or move them up to "Special" status when it becomes known or fairly well established that they are not likely to pull any of the usual "Yes in the bar / No in the room" tricks too many other bargirls pull.

We know that many times a go-go girl gets nothing but lousy feedback from disappointed customers when they pull tricks like that but the bar management doesn't give a shit as long as she continues to help them sell more Ladydrinks and so on. So those girls keep working in their bars and everyone just shrugs off whatever crap service she is actually providing after agreeing to much better than crap service in the bar; "Yes in the bar/No in the room"

But if the bar is willing to monitor this and actually give a shit about it enough to grant to girls who never or rarely pull a "Yes in the bar / No in the room" trick a status or designation that makes them more desirable to customers because it is implied that they will provide a more certain happy outcome for their customers with no tricks, I will happily pay a reasonable upcharge for that kind of management involvement even if the bar gets all of it and the girl only gets what you agree to pay her separately.

You do have the web page translations these days, but Google Translate does not do as good a job of translating Thai to English as it would do for say German, as an example.

[/QUOTE]In some bars, like Dollhouse, they introduced a rule that Coyote girl could not be barfined before a certain time nor before she had sold at least x number of drinks. I did not like it of course, because I like to take girls for ST early in the evening. The fact that I only needed her for an hour, did not sway their rule. So girl had to be ruled out.

Typically Coyotes have high barfine price early and it may decrease at Midnight.

In a bar like Mercury, If Palm was not present, would cause me to leave soon enough, given Noi was also away. So there was some upside to Palm typically being barfined very late when the price had dropped. I am not trying to apologise for the bar at all. Merely explaining what I believe to be the situation.

Once the really hot girls for looks and maybe dancing ability leave the bar, the power to pull customers ability of the bar staff drops significantly, the drinks sold can drop significantly too. They want to hold the hot Coyotes in the bar for as long as possible, and so levy high barfines on them. The BF is some compensation for the potential loss of drinks revenue, but probably does not cover it fully for the hottest girls like Palm. Palm would have multiple customers concurrently wanting to have her sit with them and receive drinks. Not many other Coyotes had that same level. One or two Coyotes that fuck had some competition for them as well, but they did not distract me much from Palm, the classy stunner.

Different girls have vastly different customer pulling power, and drinks selling potential. Hence makes some sense that the barfine values might vary. It is not purely looks, but playfulness, ability to make fun and conversation count too.

It is not clear to me why Billboard has designated so many girls (all non topless girls) to be Coyotes. Twisters uses it as an excuse to set BF higher. Billboard does not. It is a very bad trend though to be seeing so many Coyotes with too much clothing cover, particularly I cannot see how good are Coyote girl tits. Some Coyotes have a huge bump under a very solid bra that hides zero tits. I prefer girls to be dressed maximum in bikini but no top on. The Topless Twisters girls really looked superb (80% of them).

They are there to help (or hinder) negotiations when girl and customer cannot speak the same language, naturally.

Many bargirls go with me without specifying a price. My Billboard girl for example. Masasans would stuff that up, quick and lively.

I like to cultivate a smart and helpful waitress in bars that can give me the thumbs up or thumbs down about a girl, based on whether customers are generally happy with the girl or whether the girl is reliable. The waitress gets her rewards. In Crazy House this was little S1. She seemed miles smarter than most of the other waitresses. She had experience and efficiency in working Corner Bar with Live music previously and the boss wanted her to change to CH, so she was given the number 1 badge for Service staff S1. Some waitresses were really annoying, error prone, and just dumb. Quite a few service staff are LBs, so I don't like to get too cuddly with those. Also Noi number 83, would give me her opinions on other girls. She used to be a waitress too.

Warning for Billboard (I have mentioned before), the big fat mamasan at Billboard is not to be trusted. She stole 300 Baht change from my barfine at CH closing time one day, by simply disappearing. The bar was closed but she was no where to be found. She got fired from CH and Mercury bars in succession. I completely ignore her. I tell my girl to use a different mamasan. Since This Is Thailand, if you aren't pleased with the set of directions or information you get from the first person you ask because you assume they would be "in the know", just ask another person you assume would be "in the know" and you are sure to get a different response. BTW, that also goes for all of us on these forums and the guys you meet in the bars, restaurants and on the prowl and is not confined to native born Thai people. It really is the whole darn country and environment, not just the people who were born here. Or you can go for three different responses and ask a third. LOL. That is exactly what I did on a second recent visit to Twister Bar last night between 10 pm and Midnight.

I was with one of my regular, non pro girlfriends last night, Tuesday night, and, after an hour funeral service for a departed friend, we decided it would be a good followup to cruise around Nana Plaza and take in a few beers. Being with a date already, I thought it would be interesting to give Twister Bar a second look as merely a drinker, not a Ladydrink buyer or barfiner. We sat in the booths on the left side of the bar as you walk through the curtains. A few things I immediately noticed was the lineup was not as good in the looks department as it was over the weekend, there appeared to be about 20-25% of the girls on the stage (of two stages in the bar) on our side, the left side, wearing pantyhose and the 3-4 girls who went topless were all on the right side stage, quite a distance from where we sat on the left so I could not really get a handle on how many of those girls, if any, were wearing pantyhose. That was the way it remained for the next two hours, through a few dancer change ups on both sides; the pantyhose wearing girls seemed mostly to dance on the left side stage while the few topless girls per dance shift were on the right side stage.

The girls wearing pantyhose were easily among the youngest and peachiest looking in the bar. Not necessarily the best bodies. There were a couple of other girls, not wearing pantyhose, walking around who had better bodies, imo. But the pantyhose girls were clearly the more Sweet Young Thing dancers on the stage.

I was with a date so waited until she went to the toilet to ask someone again about the pantyhose girls re barfines. I didn't see the same mamasan I'd asked over the weekend, the one who said of the pantyhose wearing girls, "oh, dance only and get Ladydrink, no barfine. " I wanted to ask the papasan with the flashlight pointer sporting a ponytail and wearing a Minnie Mouse-style polka-dot headband with a cute little bow on it, but he was nowhere to be found when my date left me alone to go to the toilet. So I asked our waitress who was standing close-by. "See the girls wearing pantyhose?" Gesturing to the girls and miming a stretch pull on imaginary pantyhose near her leg. "Do they go barfine?" I only got a shrug. This waitress didn't know. So she quickly went to another waitress and brought her over to see if she knew. "Yes," she said, "all the girls go barfine, 1000 baht. Then 3,000 baht to the girl for ST. "

So now I had three different answers to this question from three people who you might think would be "in the know" about it; one No, one I Don't Know, and one Yes. Then I asked the even more important question; "After you pay the barfine (1000 baht for all the dancers in the bar according to these two waitresses), do those girls wearing pantyhose have sex with the customer or just go out with him?" I got two shrugs to that question. Not reliable and inconclusive, I know. I would have asked one of the pantyhose girls directly but this night I was with another lady so that was not in the cards.

Here are some other things I observed last night. As Sweet Young Thing types as the pantyhose wearing girls were, the most in that regard of any in the bar IMO, only 1 out of about 10 altogether was pulled down from the stage to have a Ladydrink and I saw none of them milling around between dance sets approaching customers. She was asked to come down by the apparent "ringleader" of a group of Japanese guys who came in about 11 pm and sat exactly ringside to the left side stage across from where I was sitting. He engaged in a bit of conversation with the Minnie Mouse bow headband fellow before choosing who he apparently thought was the right girl for the, well, youngest and cutest of the Japanese guys in his group. She sat next to that particular Japanese customer, seemed to be having a good time teasing him and rubbing her butt in his lap, but it went nowhere. After about 15 minutes, the girl went back onstage and resumed dancing. It seemed to me no deal was struck even though they were chatting it up throughout the sit.

At Midnight, just as my date and I were about to leave, there were several girls missing from the stage lineups, but virtually all of the pantyhose wearing girls were still there, had not been barfined by anyone during the 10 pm-Midnight time frame. And I saw only 1 of them even sitting with a customer, having been brought down to do so by someone other than that customer but by the ringleader of that group who seemed intent on making a match for a few of them this night. No take-away matches were made after they'd spent an hour sitting ringside on the pantyhose girl side of the stages and they left just before my date and I did.

I believe those pantyhose do indicate something more than a fashion statement or a comfort issue. Are they as much of a "no go" indicator in Nana Plaza bars as they are in Patpong and Soi Cowboy? I hope not. Before we left Nana Plaza, we stopped into Suckers Bar and downstairs Mandarin on the second floor. None of the girls in either bar were wearing pantyhose. I guess I will have to test the waters myself or at least get it more directly from one or more of those girls at Twister Bar in order to really know. Problem is, I wasn't all that visually impressed or inspired by the entire lineup on this night, including the SYT pantyhose wearing girls. I would need to take a look through the curtain next time before I commit to entering and buying a drink in order to find out.

One of them in particular tries very hard to convince me to buy her a Ladydrink after I have closed the deal with the girl and handed her the barfine. I did buy her a Ladydrink once a long time ago but have merely smiled and indicated "no" ever since. Hasn't changed the level of satisfying service I get from the girls I take one bit. I was talking about something that is done or screened out behind the scenes in order to decide which of their girls lands on the "Special" girl list with a 1,500 baht barfine. I don't think it is all about youth and looks. Some of the non "Special" girls whose barfine is the regular 700 baht rate are as young and better looking than a few of the "Special" girls.

However, unlike your experience, I have not found the waitresses to be worth a damn either. No one knows what really goes on after the bedroom door closes except the players directly involved. I wouldn't even trust a waitress or mamasan to give reliable intel on how many repeat customers a particular girl gets or whether she gets any repeats customers at all.

For the first time in I don't know how long. A friend is in town and he was on the hunt so I decided to meet him there. The night certainly cemented in my head the reasons I don't frequent GoGo.

Billboard was the place, and while there were some decent bodies to be seen, there were only one or two faces that I found the least bit attractive. The others being victims of bad plastic surgery or were a bit too hard Isaan for my liking. But again, some nice bodies to glance at.

First issue, the music. Awful dance music. Just can't tolerate it. Back in the day GoGos played some top 40, rock, hip hop, and it was much better. The inane dance music is a real irritant. Second issue, you have to listen to, "I want go with you. " "I want toilet. " "You pay bar. " Etc. Heard that from the gal siting on the lap of an Asian fellow next to us. I can understand why less frequent visitors, first timers, et al enjoy this. But for me it is a complete pecker wilting experience to have to sit with and attempt to interact with someone who has as little to offer conversation wise as these gals do. Sure, there are exceptions, but yesh, 2 min of that and my mind feels like it is going to melt. Third, the cost of taking them out and rolling the dice on performance. Just can't see paying over 100 USD for these gals when all is said and done. Would gladly pay a bit more than I pay in an oily if the performance was the same, but I am certain it would not be. I must add that Leos were only 140 which is expensive but not completely awful. That was the one surprise.

Really just don't like the atmosphere to tell you the truth. If I have to GoGO give me a small non-glitzy bar like Cactus in Cowboy where the girls are naked and there is raunch to be found.

So in short, I am glad there are dudes out there who enjoy this. More power to you. I am not one of you.

[/QUOTE]Well I agree that most bars have DJs making bad selection of music. Mercury bar has two DJs. The young one working the earlier hours, picks horrible dance noise type of disco "music". That later one actually picks some fun songs both Farang and a few Thai ones. A gogo should not be a disco. Music should be more enjoyable to the patrons, not the DJ. Should play songs almost fully, and not try to blend them, every 30 seconds.

The "music" is too loud which can wreck chances of conversation. Conversation is a bit over rated. I don't go in a bar for an intellectual conversation. LOL I am assisted to be able to discuss plenty of topics due to speaking Thai, but one girl seemed to not speak with BB at all, maybe she spoke only Thai (or very shy). When I can't hear girls over the DJ's stuff, girls tend to speak extra loud direct in my ear, which only makes things worse. Not many understand, that the correct technique is to speak slowly and very clearly and distinctly to overcome the noise. Helps with hearing and lip reading. Girls that are drunk become much harder to understand, too fast and slurred speech.

You don't have to interact with girls at all. You can ignore them. Or you can just sit quietly without making conversation. No one is forcing you to try to come up with something to say. If I have nothing to say, I am quite relaxed to be just silent for a period. Nothing worse than girls that yack non stop in my opinion. Relatively quiet is okay By me. As soon as the girl gives me the impression she is putting on an act or not being her real self, I loose interest very quick. This was case last CrazyH visit that I called a new girl to me. It's not too unusual that chemistry doesn't work well. Better to find that out fast.
