Bavaro, but especially Punta Cana are very upscale. (Julio Iglesias, among others, owns a property there).

Being a resort area for people with money means any "mongering" would be very discreet / expensive, but even wealthy people want to get laid.

FYI, I saw the latest newsletter from BlackBeards and there were several lighter-skinned girls on the site.

Suggest you look up its site online and sign up (its free) for the monthly newsletter to get an idea.

Any venue for such activity will be mostly male, but shyness seems out of place in this activity.

You can download Spanish and use offline, also use camera to photograph and translate menus or documents.

Bing translator seems fine to me, though I rarely use it as I speak Spanish pretty well.

Make sure U-turn off your data delivery so your phone can just pull wifi.

This is also possible with Google Translate (though I have not tried it) which is said to be technologically superior. Google Translate runs on Android phones and also on Apple.
