i figured from reading the posts, cafe havana, greenbelt3 is my best bet for quality. can anyone recommend gf hotel in the us$80/night (+/-) range that is walking distance to havana? what precentage of girls at havana would be fl? are they easy to spot? how do you spot fl at nearby malls?
i'm just there for a couple of days so i'm not planning to be too ambitious, if i don't get to scope la cafe, edsa, nana, i can always do that on another trip. i like to start small to get a feel for the place, maybe be a little more streetwise.

nana is actually in bangkok ------ unless there is another one in manila that i missed.
regarding cafe havana, it is certainly worth a try but bear in mind this place is quite small and the vast majority of people will be sitting outside, sometimes it is hard to find a seat.
this place is nothing like la cafe, on the nights i went there i saw very few obvious freelancers, many couples etc sitting at the tables.

Yeah, no Nana in Manila, I just misread one of the earlier post comparing Manila vs Bangkok.
I guess if I strike out with Havana, I can always go for one of the go-gos at Makati like Flamingo etc..
If I stay at, say, the Intercontinental, is bringing FL's back going to be a problem?
Thanks

Thanks for advise. Seems that due to Thai protests my off-route trip will point towards Manila then even if a bit less convenient than stopping by in BKK. But at least get the benefit of familiarizing with the local pussy and making hands-on assesment on Thai vs Phil ladies.
I generally agree but would put it a little differently on the basis of what you want.
If you want a wham-bam go-for-it experience in the bar or back at the hotel choose Bangkok.
If you prefer some level of conversation and a more GFE type experience choose Manila.
For the GFE experience I would say that Saigon is becoming a strong rival with all the gals there that want to learn english.
Quick question
How do you get to LA Cafe from Manila airport hotel? I'm staying there my last night and I would like to at least visit LA Cafe on my last day, just to see what place you guys are talking about, even if I don't take a girl back to my hotel.

i hope you are aware of the prices in makati, many of the bars on p.borgos charge 3900 barfine and 390 ladydrink, the girls expect a hefty tip and there is no guarantee they will stay the night.

I second that, and I think you should go back and research more for your trip to Manila. There's a lot here to help guide you. You will pay for it in Makati.

Pharaoh KTV
Does anyone have any idea how much it costs to play at this KTV? Such as,
Room charge,
Tips for the ladies to sit together,
Tips for the manangers
Cost to take GROs out for overnight, etc.
Would appreciate if any details could be offered.
re taxi's: it could be worse if you were at bangkok suvarnabhumi airport.
the official airport taxis are bht3000 to pattaya where you can get other taxi/limos for no more than bht1500. this is worse because it is the "official" ones that are trying to rip you off, and rip you off big time, not just a few dollars.
i will be heading to manila on jan 1 - jan 3 from ac. probably arrive via swagmans. then take a taxi to makati.

if anyone is planning to be around manila during that time please pm, maybe we could scope the talent together or just catch up for a beer.
unlike la cafe, havana, and the starbucks next to it are "normal" places that are not exclusive to freelancers. however, there are lots of them hanging around both places and they're very easy to spot. just look for the girls sitting alone, or sometimes in pairs, and wait for some eye contact. a couple of times, when i wasn't really sure if a girl was in the business or not, i sent a drink to her table, and when she looked up and smiled and thanked me, i asked her to come on over. it's worked both times that i have tried it.

Yikes! How hefty a tip?
Don't they already get half the large BF like in AC?
I was studying maps and google earth last night. Quite difficult to get a sense of scale, but at least the roads seem straight between Ayala (Makati) and LA Cafe (Malate) and EDSA (Pasay)

KYC,
Go to the airport METERED Taxi (make sure the meter is working and do not settle for a fixed price) and ask to go to LA Cafe. I believe it's on the Malate / Ermita border.
I stayed at the Executive Plaza Hotel in Malate (behind the Hyatt) and it was a 3 minutes walk to LA Cafe.
From the airport - on a Sunday morning - it took 25 minutes and 190p (less tha $4) - I gave the driver 250p.
On the way back to the airport, it took 20 minutes on a Tuesday afternoon (The driver was unpleasant - didn't stop talking and his opinions were annoying and racial). The meter showed 120P and I gave him 140p (Less tha $3).

The roads seem straight
Nice comment Poohbunny. And maybe on google earth they DO seem straight. But I can only say having driven there many times on dark nights harassing and being harassed by one eyed jeepneys (the ones with only one light in middle of front bumber! ). And having a brown eyed sweetie fiddling in my boxers, I can tell you that its the " long and winding road" and its the most unstraight road! But in a taxi with no one in your shorts it might seem straighter. LOL

Manila Report
Been here for 2 nights now. I got tons of information from the board, so once again, thanks!
The first night was spent at hollywood on Burgoes Street. Second night at LA Cafe. So far my vote is LA Cafe. Getting ready for dinner so I post details next.

you can't compare the bars of p.borgos with angeles city.
in ac a 500 peso tip would be well received.
in p.borgos you are looking at 2500+
