Any comments?[/QUOTE]Looks like a good list to get you started. I'd make a few small changes. I haven't heard anything positive about Rose bar in a while, so that's optional. I haven't heard much one way or another about Sakura. I'd say if you're going to HoD anyway you might as well add Pontoon to your list, since it's just a 100 meters away. Some people get put off by the cover charge on Fri / Sat, though.

I might just add 2 areas where you can find lots of bars. Some of them play music way too loudly for my taste, but you might like them.

1. The 2 blocks of 136 closest to the river (and since you're there why not walk 1 block over to st 130 and see the similar bars there?) , and

2. The block of 104 closest to the river (has Rose bar also, BTW)

A minor clarification:

The cost is $3 for lady drink, plus $5 barfine, for a "total" barfine of $8 ST.

Hence the cost will be: $20 for the girl plus $8. You can pay $5 for the ST place across the street, but it's a dump. So the standard price will be $33.

Better to pay $7 for the other ST guesthouse which is a lot cleaner. Or even better, take them to your hotel.

Prices has gone up. The girls do have a point. Everything has gone up. The price of petro went from $0.25 to $1.25 per litter.

The bar fine is 5 bucks and the lady drink 3 bucks. 8 dollars wouldn't even buy me two beers in a pub in London. To me it's pocket change, if I enjoyed the service then I wouldn't really care that it cost a little more.

OK but it's a free market. They charge what customers are willing to pay. It's hard to argue they're "ripping us off" when it's still one of the cheapest options on the planet and a small fraction of what it costs in most other parts of the world.

I'll be flying in from BKK myself. So far the airfares seem to be about USD$100 each way. I did contemplate getting a bus or something on the way back to BKK but due to time constraints I will just get a return fare with Air Asia. Just three days in PP for me this time. Hopefully the first of many trips.

That is a long ass bus ride and the road is not that good, I think you are better off just stay in Bangkok figure in cost on visa and air ticket you in for 225 USD just go all the way to PP just for mongering.

All this talk on the board about P4P in PP having gone downhill, crackdowns, etc. etc. is frankly quite depressing. Was craving Khmer lovin' and contemplating a weekend trip from HCMC. Having second thoughts now. Any comments?

I know this is PP thread but massage girls in Siem Reap will come to your hotel for $5 hour massage, great massage, and then accept whatever tip you give them for happy endings. It was a very happy ending! You cannot get the extra service atthe massage parlor, tho. You have to bring them back to the hotel which is better anyway because you can photograph then!

I've yet to have a disappointing trip, but then I'm don't mine spending 20 to 25 USD on a ST and aren't interested in a 5 to 10 dollar shag from Street 63 where you have to keep one eye on your wallet whilst you're doing the deed.

Each to their own and all that but I'm certainly looking forward to my visit in a few weeks time.
