Yes, it flies in the face of my personal experiences and observations over the years. Dramatically so. Spot on. I did visit a few clubs like lucifer, insomania and others too apart from Indian clubs. You're right about expensive beers in Indian clubs but my issue was to fit in maximum fun in a limited period of time. Even in Lucifer beer cost me 180 THB and if I remember correctly it was around 200/250 THB in Indian clubs.

I also agree with you that there are a lot of Indians who do pay well and are polished guys. I did go to a club with my 2 European colleagues and 2 from India. We had just gone out at 12.30 am to chill and enjoy wherein took a table for 25 K THB along with a bottle of Black Label Gold reserve and a bottle of vodka. My European colleagues were from Germany and wanted to experience this part of fun and I had to tag along. I was not at all keen on it as I knew that we are being fleeced but kept my mouth shut and contributed my 20% of the total expense. Never ever done kind of bull shit when alone. They got drunk as they had their share of beers in the hotel before we departed for these clubs. Did not pick up any chicks and came back at around 4 am. I was absolutely sure of no mongering during those 4 days. It is only because of a few that the whole brown skinned people get tarnished. I acknowledged I paid more than the actual price. It is not my 1st time to Thailand; been there numerous times in last 12 years but then I had more time and planned my mongering excursions well. I know the game, normal prices but this was a trip where in I fit my fun. So a bit of money here and there was of no consequence to me. Yes, I do dress well, am fit at my age, look good, give a lot of importance to grooming and come across as a presentable Gentleman. I am fair, not white but not brown or black as well. No offence to any gentleman here; my apologies. I have been told by chicks that I do not look my age and look like from Europe or an Arab as I have beard which is well kempt.

Sadly, I do agree with you on the Indian part but I have never ever faced any kind of discrimination where ever I've mongered including Europe and Middle East. I do not agree that all Indians or brown skinned people act as cheap and hooligans. It's a label and yes, got to live with it.

This is my 3rd and not even laid so far as 1st day checked in pretty late after 12 hours bus ride from siem reap to pattaya.

2nd day went to coral island to show for my wingman visting for the first time. Late in the night on walking street full of indian discos and bars. The quality is very poor. Only few 8/9 quoting around 4 k+.

Went to dhara health spa and got the massage for 200 bht and called it a night.

Today some strange feeling of low fever. Not sure is it due to water sports or some kind of viral or food that we had buffet in a iranian restaurent. Took some ibuprofiens and slept the half of day.

Now I am planning to do some sight seeing with my wingman and probably stop by at soi 6 for a quick lay for 1 k. I never been to soi 6 in the past and any recommendation is really appreciated.

Cannot bring any one to my hotel being the wingman is staying with me and not interested to participated and don't wanted to him to stay in the lobby as he feels under the weather too.

Going to rent a scooter now (oh boy prices are quoting around 400+) and finish the sight seeing with my wingman and drop him off before heading to soi 6.

Just a short story, then maybe you will understand me:

Just before the pandemic, I went to a bar on Soi 3 and sat down. Next to me was an US guy who was negotiating with a girl. She was very young and pretty, but her English was very poor. He wanted her to go with him but she didn't look very happy.

Then he negotiated with the Mamasan. First he bid 2,000 then 2,500 then 3,000. The girl didn't want. Then he left.

20 minutes later she was sitting outside the bar with me and we were playing four in the row. An hour later she left with me. I wasn't talking about money. Not with the girl and not with the Mamasan.

Now my question:

Why did she go with me without knowing what I was giving her?

In most cases, your behavior is more important than the size of your wallet. But many of you are running around Pattaya like at a cattle market. The American negotiated with the Mamasan as if she were a cattle. The girl realized that.

I don't know how many LT I had from the beer bars. Maybe a few hundred. But I've never, never, ever talked about money in a bar. Not with the girls and not with the Mamasan. Never. Pattaya is not like a *****house in Europe.

Concerning pricing:

Short Times goes for 1000 to 1500 for most bars, except for gogos and the like.

2000 is standard for Long Time.

There are always outliers. You can get ST for 500 at Insomnia bar at 3 am, if you are a hansum man.

Unless you know the lady, get a set price before you leave the bar. Never accept "up to you".

Posting about 500 baht ST here doesn't help anyone, as it is rare. Yeah, maybe some older lady on Beach Road quotes 500 baht.

I have heard many people recommend TF and Tinder for when we visit Pattaya. I am planning on getting a Thai Sim card when I land which means a new number. Should I wait till I set that up before creating an account on either? How do you guys coordinate travelling, a new number, and signing up for premium services?

Discos or freelance (excluding Beach Road) I don"t bring up price. If the girl says how much you give me then I say 1000 or 1200. But otherwise they are always fine with me giving them 1000 afterwards whether ST or LT. They always come back so yes they are fine with it.

It is not a negotiation when a diner ask his waiter in a restaurant how much the special of the day is. He is ascertaining what the price of a meal is before he decides to order it. Likewise, it is very important to establish what the price is for a girl's service before you agree to it unless you don't care what the price is. But we know this is not the position of the OP. He really cares what the price is, and he thinks he has found a way to always pay what he wants to pay regardless of what the girl wants for her services.

So, in this Soi 6 example, the OP spends time with a girl at the bar. I assume he is getting friendly with her, and you know what I mean by friendly. 555. So, after being with her for 20 to 40 minutes he decides that he wants to have sex with the girl. The final step is to ascertain where, how long, and how much. This is not negotiating. It is fact finding before making a commitment to enter a verbal agreement The girl knows exactly what is going on and she is probably happy that the customer is interested. Thus, she willingly answers these fundamental questions. As you point out, some Soi 6 girls might initially ask 1500 while others will ask 1000, but most if not, all will immediately agree to 1000. This is just establishing what the mutually agreed price will be. The whole price conversation takes less than 30 seconds. It is not a negotiation. It is a price discovery that the two parties can agree on, and it is done to avoid any unpleasant misunderstandings that might occur otherwise.

But if a girl wants more than the Soi 6 market price of 1000 all the punter has to do is politely end the conversation and in the next 5 minutes or so walk away and find another girl. It is Easy Peasy. And he most likely dodged a bullet. What our OP is suggesting is the wrong way of picking up girls and it will eventually lead him to some very unpleasant outcomes. Is there any doubt where this type of behavior will lead the customer in the end? This is what the OP is essentially doing with his girls in Pattaya. Like I said, he may get away with it in the short run, but eventually this form of mongering will catch up to him if it has not already.

And furthermore, extrapolating this sort of behavior to Go Go's, FL's in clubs, and SW's on Beach Road will lead to unnecessary bad consequences. The only places I know where the price is written down and pre-set is in Oily Massage parlors and Soapies. And in every massage parlor I have ever gone to, the hostess will show the customer the price list and in most places in Thailand demand payment in advance. In Macau, Jakarta, SP, RJ bordellos the customer pays before leaving, but try to leave without paying your tab and you will wake up in the hospital.

Bottom rung of ladder pricing has pretty much been covered.

Hopefully I'm not out of line here since I haven't read through most posts.

There are 2 reasons a girl may quote you 4000 baht. The first is the vastly discussed fact that they just don't want to go with you. The second is the reality that you are from a certain place (China, Hong Kong, India as examples) where the tendency is that guys from those countries negotiate hard so the girl starts off at a ridiculous price. Their rate may be 2000 so that's why their initial quote is 4000.

As for confirming the price before taking a girl I have done this many times but would only do it with a girl if she worked in a reputable bar. It must also be a girl who I have seen in the same bar at least a couple of weeks before. Even better a girl who knows I'm a regular at that bar. Right or wrong in my mind that drastically reduces the chance I will be overcharged by the girl I didn't negotiate with. If there is an issue at most I'll be out is maybe 1000 baht and I'll be talking to mamasan at that bar the very next day. I will also be writing the bar name and posting the girl's name or number on ISG.

I would not do the above at Soi 6 or Thermae as prices seem to be in flux these days. Obviously I would never go with a FL without confirming a price and my requirements.

Finally, thank you to the member who actually NAMED the Soi 6 bar where a girl was trying to overcharge him. We all need to be diligent in doing this. That way we know where we need to be cautious about pricing.

Without having to read all the topics of the last 200 pages. It's quite simple. The standard price for LT was around 2 K before covid. And yes a girls way of say "no" was always to just quote a high price (hoping the guy would decline).

HOWEVER. The demographics of guys have changed a LOT since 2017. Where (we) farang where the majority its now a lot of indian / arabs who are calling the shots in especially WS. These guys (along with the asians) are not as "cheap charlie" as we farang. They don't care if they are quotes 4 K or even 10 k.

Why would they go with a 40+ year old farang for 2 K if they can also just wait and hope for someone else who pays more? Don't forget the salaries from gogobars have increased a LOT. So they not depend on ST / LT as much as precovid anyway.

So if a chick gets a lot of the non-farang mongers there is a fair change she won't lower her quote. However if she likes you price won't be a showstopper anyway. I got plenty of action for 2 K from agogos even in 2022. And yes. Even from pinup there is chick who wanted to go for just 2 K longtime.

As a wise man told me over 20 years ago "You don't pick a working girl, she picks you".

So my word of advice? Don't focus that much on a chick YOU like. But try the once that also like you (as a person).
