Thermae to Asoke Sukhimvit scene this evening. Thermae closed with about 20-30 girls milling in front. Did not look like the best of the crop, even though I like a girl dressed in black. No cart bars in action. Soi Cowboy totally dark. Some freelancers out, but a fraction of the usual count. Lucky for me I had my all-holes-open Viet freelancer from WeChat on her last day in town. One cannot depend on the public venues these days. Enjoy Bangkok, AsianRain.
I don't get your point. Yesterday was a religious Holiday, end of Buddhist Lent. Alcohol could not be sold. Hence bars could not operate. Same every year whole country.
Sure its always wise to have your private contacts as a backup. I do my regular girls 80 to 90% of the time anyway. One girl would have invited me to Crazy House on Saturday. Should be open again tonight. However I am not around. If I was around and she is around, I would attend for stunning Donut without a problem.
I saw on the news, that someone posting negative lies about the King, is likely to meet up with a lynch mob. It does not go down well, and turns the general population to go psycho. So warning to all to respect the King.
Unless Crazy House was open between about 7:00 PM and about 8:30 PM on Saturday night and you were there that early, you would have found yourself standing outside a closed go-go bar. I walked by and looked in at about 8:30 PM on Saturday night and all regular room lights were on, no one on stage, no girls milling around inside or outside and a couple of older female bar staff were walking out, shutting up the place and bidding any stray males outside (me included at that moment) a fond farewell until "Open Monday, come back on Monday. "
Maybe they were open for an hour or so earlier, I don't know because I wasn't present. But there was no sign of it by 8:30PM and the only bar staff who showed up for whatever reason were on their way home by then.

This bar always seems to know in advance if an inspection will occur. Corruption.
Today she confirms did not open. She still maintains all bars will open tonight. I don't want to guarantee though. Believe it when you see it.
I only reported gossip, but nothing is reliable in this turbulent time.
I suspect my bar visits may be rather minimal for the rest of the year anyway. See how my other options go. It's always about special girls for me. Not venues so much.

I heard bar's at Nana will open as usual today Monday. So guess this applies to other venue's as well. Have fun guy's.
To be honest, I have expected this. Yesterday monk day included.

Some Nana bars are open, Stumble Inn certainly is. However they are not allowed to play music and the lights are quite dim, probably stay that way for a month they say.

Sukhimvit Status
Thermae is back open and decent crowd of girls inside. Interestingly quite a few farang punters (mostly older), about 15% of the male clientele, trawling the line. Go go whiteys! Much smaller contingent of Asians. Low season for J-tourists. Ladyboys as usual on the outside. Would have thought that a couple days of closure would relieve some of the stale stench, but it was as bad as ever so I moved on.
Walked up Sukhimvit to Soi 4. Smaller volume of street walkers. NEP in operation but not all bars open and lights out. Walking up Soi 4 usual amount of girls. All street bars in operation with no lights or music. I walked up Soi 4 past the Rajah and spied some very cute Africans. Struck up a chat with one, a tight little cutie named Barbara. She quoted 2000ST and I asked about services and I walked after she said "no kissing, but maybe I give you a little BJ no condom". I walked back up to Nana car park and picked out a small-framed cutie and we went back to diPlace to get the white out. Super tight little hairless pussy, otherwise unremarkable session.
Satiated, I walked back down Sukhimvit. I noted a better selection of girls hanging out near McDo. Stopped and chatted to a couple just to get their LINE contacts.
Back down Sukhimvit past Terminal 21 and no cart bars in operation.
Then took a look at Soi Cowboy. About half of bars in operation, all dark and no music, but girls working. Walked all the way down and Baccara and Crazy House open for business. Popped into Crazy House and saw a full stage of girls dancing in pink bikinis. Nothing lewd happening. Very few punters at 11.30 pm. I could have stretched out and taken a nap on one of the benches. Decided not to stay to the dismay of a waitress who was actually hosptiable.
In short, the machine is booting back up, but expect this low-key situation to persist for circa another month until the "official" mourning period is over. Also observed that alcohol was being served, so bars are being bars. Enjoy Bangkok, AsianRain.

In other temrs, when is the last day of this 30 day period? I will be in BKK on Nov 21, so I am sure it will be finished? Think a precise date indication will help many of us. Thanks!

Some Soi Cowboy bars back open, but lights off and operating stealth mode. May be reduced hours. Not many customers.

So entertainment venues start to open but will sombre be like a funeral for potentially a month.
I hear that many Thais will be wearing black for an entire year. However its hard to predict stuff with any great certainty.
DJs may as well go on a holiday. Mostly I hate DJs anyway. Too loud. Too much stuffing around with songs. Too much noise and rubbish pretending to be music.
Those who thought everything will be back to normal after 2 or 3 days will be proved very wrong I think.

Bars might be lacking music up to 13 Nov (1 month). You still have massage parlors, free lancers, regardless. You can check on news same as anyone which date the King died. I think it was 13th from memory.
I am sure you can have a good time from 21 Nov onwards. There is more to life and mongering than bars and discos. Will be really nice to be able to have a beer in some places and be able to talk since no loud music.
I don't know if discos can open for the month or not.
For those wanting music, take your mini music player to the venue with earpiece. LOL Share one earpiece with your favorite girl, if she is willing to secretly listen to music. She may not, thinking it looks bad, but OK for Farangs perhaps. My GF is into music big time. Will be interesting to see how long she goes with no music. I guess she will be listening mainly to Buddhist sermons and chants for the foreseeable future. She may be wearing black for the whole year.

Freelancers
Went to Nana Hotel and many freelancers outside. Also outside Sukumvhit road.
If other options are closed, you can always look for freelancers instead.
-
BJ-bars
Anyone know if the BJ-bars are open or closed now? They don't need the music so I guess they could be open?

I can understand them not opening over the weekend and they are usually closed Mondays so foes anyone know for how long they will be kept closed?
