Seems we are about 100% on same page re Thai society. Thailand, like Russia, is fairly close to an orwellian feudal society that at a distance looks chaotic and badly managed, but once you think about it, is actually the exact opposite if seen from the perspective of those in power (even if frogs come out of their mouths all the time). Thai society at large, especially so the education system, is managed exactly as it is supposed to be in such system.

The worst that could happen to the feudal powers is that masses would get educated and would be able to come up with their own ideas. See what happened in Europe in past 250 years, has not happened in those two places. Catastrophic for those in power before. Would be catastrophic to mongers too in long run. Thai and Russia are still largely like europe 100-200 years ago. And just list the countries where the change has happened voluntarily. Requires revolution, major war or some other comparable event to happen, and the powers of course know it and take proper actions to manage the system. Coups in Thailand are actually for that reason, preventing the seeds of change spreading too much.

Funny coincidence about your passed feelings about a good Thai from a totally different context. When I was a child, my grandfather who was fighting for independence of his country in wars against Russian occupation, repeatedly told me and my brother that "there is only one type of good russian - a dead one. And I have made many good russians". Unlike you, his feelings never changed.

Firstly, I would like to apologize in advance if this already been covered. I did lurk around for some time, yet I couldn't find any good information. With google I was able to find some information which was outdated.

I find the information from Google outdated because from what I have understood by going through this forum, things have changed and are changing day by day in Thailand, especially Pattaya. Most of the reports were made before the pandemic.

I believe when Bangkok was reopened and the action slowly picked up, Pattaya was still struggling. I was in Bangkok a couple of months backs. Though the crowd was pretty strong, the quality of the selection went down with many girls yet to return to the city. So, I think if I had been to Pattaya I would have struggled to find any action.

I would love to know from those who are already there about the situation on the ground. Have the girls returned to action? I follow some clubs from Pattaya on Twitter and many of them still seem to continue to beg for money via PayPal to support them.

I have been to Pattaya only once, and I was in a pretty fucked up state. For two days, I only walked around after I was struggling to get back to health following three days of binging alcohol. So my memory of my short stay is not reliable.

What I would like to know more than anything is if Pattaya is better than Bangkok for mongering. Bar girls in Bangkok are not that attractive, to find some attractive girls, you got to either book an escort or find them in some massage parlours or gogo clubs where things are not that straight forward. I don't like to haggle and waste my time bargaining, so I always end up booking an escort instead of putting up with them.

I have read that the bar / gogo girls in Pattaya look prettier or better than the ones in Bangkok, but I would like to know if the selection has returned to the level it used to be post pandemic. How easy they are to negotiate compared to the ones in Bangkok?

Again real Thailand is party 24,7. Encompass all, example, man drunk in his hammock in nakhon nowhere at 2 pm is partying.

4, 5 or 6 Thai families control 50%. Numbers could be way off but not the Principle.

Too many focus on Taxi fare to Pattaya. It's a one shot deal.

To save money you need to walk in to your hotel. It really is much cheaper without Expedia 15-20 % cut.

At least on the moderation priced ones.

I don't like to travel how I settle here is a long story I can't tell you or even comment on outside of two places Thailand and China, I am Chinese American born and raised some say I should be used to this type of thinking but also told by others I'm more American than Americans who are white. I like all of you came here thinking the most basic stuff should be standard but it wasn't I kept to myself I thought about it down deep there is someone wrong as one great poster once told me he was being kind Oldthaihand being kind " backward " I can't speak of anywhere else except this place stories I've when told to close friends and family would say never heard of shit like this and if they didn't know me would say I was be. There was a time I did stuff I went off the reservation it was the wild west that brought me back to life I try hard to not go back. I got to a point where I was planning something really bad the end result if it didn't go well I wasn't going quietly I was going to take a whole lot with me to the grave and had the resources I had accepted I was going to die violently. There was a period I got into confrontations daily and nightly every little thing bother me. Then one day it click I got it! Realized that many of the things Thais were doing like driving they didn't do it intentionally it was how they were taught along with their culture.

I was riding my motorbike down Pattaya Klang one evening cruising 40 KM, with a vehicle in front of me, I had nowhere to go or turn, I felt something I looked in my mirror this vehicle was within inches of my bumper, I turn my head and shook it when we came to the stop light he pulled up to my right roll down the window and started. Somehow he realized now I wasn't Thai from there he got verbally aggressive and responded flip him the bird as the light turn green bikes behind and sounded their horns I make a left (motorbike shop) I looked into my mirror and see the guy backing up and speeds to catch up. This is a very narrow area and congested I could have outran him easily but to avoid anything from happening I pulled over at the Family Mart, The guy jump out not big running and jumping like a monkey with my helmet on I just stood there at some point I knew he was going to attack and second later as he was ranting and raving he tries to throw a punch before he even knew what hit him he was on the floor looking up. Prior to that jumping and ranting he was saying in Thai what is the big deal how close I come to you AS LONG AS I DON'T HIT YOU THERE ISN'T A PROBLEM!

What set him off loss of face being criticized by a foreigner this all came across me that night these guys don't have a clue so you can fight and yell back they don't have a clue what you are saying and why in this case the danger. This all hit me one night while I BF my regular from Bacarra doing her at the short time place Oasis. LOL. Thereafter my senses were right I ride along blocking cars and bikes going along at my own speed knowing exactly what I'm doing as long as I don't look back it is all innocent acting as if you don't know is the key. Today I use my age as an excuse for Thais to be patient and polite to me. LOL that is how I'm surviving in Hell.

If I find myself in a similar situation, I think this imformation will help me to remain calm and avoid challenging and confronting people, when I take my first trip to Thailand.

Only updates are. Coconut bar is pretty packed as of last night. Options are pretty close to their street date sadly. I saw a few gems, but I was already running on empty.

Second girl, solid 7-8. Great lay BBFS civ for 2500. Multiple dead bars on Walking street. Need to make my way down a soi and actually try the bar thing. Been just trying to learn things, this is my first trip anywhere. Esp solo.

Getting upset over spilled milk I know guys who have gotten upset over their order being taken wrong and made a scene. A while back not every Thai guy in this situation showed enormous restraint with a meat cutter in his hand. Big see Extra, in the meat department a German guy big dude but older all of a sudden started yelling at the guy said his meal was cut wrong, and went on and on, the Thai dude wasn't small equally large and younger he stood there and took the humiliation lost of face, he just walk away.

Homepro a week later, 6'3 European guy early '50's checking out a few small items I was next to him and started to tell the girl I need a bag, the girl said no bags, he goes on pissed, he had the small bills to pay but being pissed he pulls out a Thousand baht the item was like 80 baht, tosses it on the table it falls to the floor, he looks at me I look at him smiling shaking my head indicating you don't pick it up it is mined he picks it up gets his change storms off pissed. She check out my two items screws and I told her I want a bag seriously she bust out laughing.

After all these years have I got it down? Never will but not going to stress me over the small stuff my fat ass dirty daughter in-law test me every day, today I'm like that referee in the SuperBowl commercial a few years ago back where the coach is yelling the shit out of him but he shows nothing flip to another picture he is shown sitting on the couch with his wife bitching the hell out of him. LOL key is enjoy and that is a real challenge here at times.

Not even sure if they off barfines the same way other bars do.

1) Is Rasputin still open?

2) Is Honey 2 still open and the best soapy around?

3) How is castle Pattaya in experience? If I pay 1 K Baht as a non member plus another 1 K on drinks then for 3-4 K can I get a chic to raise on stirrups in nude and be my slave? (whips and wax play?
