I leave Brazil for Pattaya next week. I am going to give at least 24 hours recovery time from the very long flight.
Ladies are already pinging me for "dates" next week, but I want to avoid a situation like last month where I overbooked myself, and ended up with too many fucks in a row.
When you live in Pattaya, you know so many ladies that you don't have to go to bars to meet ladies. Unless you are tired of the ones you know.
A bargirl I know decided to stop working in Pattaya bars and is now working in a Thai bar. Tonight, someone called her Thai boyfriend and alerted him that the bargirl was up to no good. Drama ensued.
Thai boyfriends can usually handle their girlfriends going with Farang customers, but not so much Thai customers.
Also, Thai bars are different, because the customers are locals and come regularly. Which means that they start viewing the ladies as girlfriends, or set them up as mia nois.
This is not to say that Farangs are unwelcome, but few of the ladies speak English.

I had been considering to visit Brazil for mongering, so I am kinda surprised you are coming to Thailand from Brazil. Wow.

Observations on 3 weeks with a bargirl:
She drinks a lot. Every night.
Since we are not in Thailand, she has no alternative but me for sex, so if she isn't too drunk, she will drag me into the bedroom. Whereas, if she is in Pattaya, she gets laid a lot, and I have to drag her into the bedroom.
She calls her Thai husband a lot to give him orders, since he is taking care of the kids. Apparently, he isn't very good at following orders, so there is a lot of fighting over the phone.

I will be in Pattaya for a week around the 20th of January.
I already drive many times in Thailand like chiang khan, ayuthaya and chiang mai, I do have motorcycle license but not an international one.
So I know that it's "risky" but I was wondering if for you, you think it's ok to drive in Pattaya? I would like to move a bit more independently, is there many police barrage to stop you and verify?
Will I have to pay 1000 thb penalties every time I get caught? I really don't know how is it right now but from what I hear, they do more checks than old times:

As for Brazil, I brought a Thai lady with me for this trip. Otherwise, Brazil is a great place for finding ladies.

I've been driving there each time since my second trip in the year 2000 and never had a problem.
Last time I was there in November 2022, I've not been checked at all and I thought that checkpoints were less frequent that precovid, but I saw during my last day, at the moment I went to the bus station on North Pattaya, (I was not on my bike) the cop at the North Pattaya roundabout station was stopping every foreigner driving through that place.
Just learn to avoid their check points (mostly North Pattaya roundabout, sometimes the police check point at the crossover of second road with Pattaya Klang, the police station on Beach road), avoid doing anything illegal (avoid driving after drinking alcohol), drive slowly, be carefull about the road and all other drivers and you should be fine.
Last time I was fined was in 2019 (precovid), for two infractions (no international driving licence plus a Uturn at a place that was forbidden). Luckily I was told that I have 1 week to go and pay at the police station on Beach road (normally they take your document, ask you to go pay immediately at the police station, come back with the proof and then you can go), price was just 600 baht for the 2 infractions, but if you have 1 infraction you'll be asked to pay 500 normally as I've been asked in the past.

Isn't that a bit like taking a ham sandwich to a banquet? No judgement and no shade. Just curious.

Personally, there aren't enough checkpoints to really bother in my opinion. Since Covid, there have been fewer and fewer, two major times of the year they do more checks March, and October, this is the time they need to start getting money available for school tuition. Then you got the holidays which is done.
In-town checks. Majority of the time they will set up if on Beach Road just before or after the police station near Central Festival, on 3rd Road, they will do it near the fire station or near Pattaya Klang, on 2nd Road usually near Mikes Shopping but due to construction I've not seen any for some time. Once in a while, it happens outside the Friendship market of Pattaya Tai.
The key is defensive driving in which I'm always looking ahead a minimum of 7 seconds that is how I was trained commercially and apply it to my daily driving here. I'm never worried about being stopped when it happens I kind of welcome it so entertaining. Doing so if you see a checkpoint it should give you enough time to stop and reverse or take a detour that is what the majority of Thais do.
Looking ahead, especially at an intersection with a signal light while stopped if you see a checkpoint on the other side when the signal changes wait a bit and let those in a hurry go first, when you do proceed right to avoid being pulled over.
The chances is slim and none in my opinion.
