Medellin Reports

You can find tall and skinny, but not easy. I've seen a few. Much easier to find short and skinny (spinner). I have to disagree with the food and service. I have had my share of bad meals and bad service all over the world, including Medellin and Bogota. But there are some VERY good restaurants in Medellin. Sometimes service is bad, but sometimes it's a cultural difference. You won't be handed the check the minute you finish your meal. That's not how it works in Colombian culture.

If you only care about chicas, Bogota has some great options. And if you also care about seeing something, then Bogota it worth one trip. You can go to the Salt Cathedral or Monserrati. Enjoy some good meals. Enjoy some good clubs. My ex-wife is from Bogota, so spent a good amount of time there. Too cold, too polluted, and too much traffic for me.

I like Medellin for the weather and the people. Yes, there can be pollution. Yes, there can be traffic. But it's a much more pleasant place to be, at least for me.

Robberies.

How do robberies in Parque Botero occur? Easy, especially if you spend a lot of time in Medellin and frequent the parque. First off let me be the first to say that the robberies have caused the overall girls in the parque to suffer. The parque has a ring leader that many of the girls are afraid of and they answer to her. If you like repeat girls, this is where the one time hit her and quit her benefits. The ring leader attempts to get the girls who you date to find out the things you like, for example, body type, or sexual preferences.

These girls do anything to get you to agree to another date to observe you and to learn more information about you and to lure you into trusting them. Many of them will try and bring you your drink after it has been opened, or pretend to be under age and extort money from you in order to leave the room. I have seen the entire process in action and I have thanked my lucky stars that I have not been robbed or poisoned but trust me, I have inside information about the ring leader and I have had dates with many of the girls who report to her. Nowadays if I suspect that a girl works with the ring leader I will refuse her any dates.

Robberies and schemes are at an all-time high, you must be extremely careful, these are desperate times and people are trying many new schemes to rob Americans and other foreigners. Do not drop your guard, because I have been visiting Medellin for 2 years and had no idea how much these girls were watching me and taking down notes, trust me, be careful with any of the girls in the parque.

With that being said, I will still stand by my word that it does not matter if you date a $35,000 pesos chic from Veracruz or a $300,000 pesos chic from Poblado, if she wants to rob you she will rob you. The more you pay does not guarantee you a good date. So save the upscale chic versus the low scale chic, a working girl is a working girl! Pollo Negro is out!

I think from being here so long you develop a sense of what these girls true value are. In the beginning you may have been fine with it, but now your mind is like fuck no. I don't care if I have to sit tonight out. Especially since you got the great deal going with wifey. You are not alone with your thinking Big baller. Wondering what people's opinions are as to whether flights will actually resume before the end of the Emergencia Sanitario. I saw the humanitarian repatriation flights during June but didn't book any of them in time. I see starting July 5 Spirit has regularly scheduled flights as well as JetBlue and Interjet. I am assuming they are tentatively scheduled and that the airlines are happy to take anyone's money who is happy to pay and then just hold it as credit towards future travel in the likely event that they need to reschedule. The emergency measures seem to pretty clearly state there will be no national or international flights before August at the earliest and no travel between municipalities. Anyone heard anything regarding any of this changing before August, or have any info on how to arrange to travel Inter-city during the emergency measures. I was on a motorcycle tour and have been staying on a finca since the quarantine started, but would really prefer to return to Mde if at all possible.

Blakman, this post tells me you reached a level of awareness that some haven't even after years in Colombia. I've had more than one girl I met at Centro casas tell me they get six figure dates out of Parque Lleras and the mansion. I mentioned this to a punter I met at Hooters and he would not accept it. He told me I was full of shit. I accepted his assessment even though I knew he was mistaken.

As for service, most seem to think having a waiter interrupt your meal every 4 minutes is great service. It isn't. That said, I disagree with the poster criticizing the food in MDE. While you may not find any Michelin starred restaurants, there are some very solid options at ridiculously low prices. Provenza and Envigado are the best restaurant zones IMO. But I've had good restaurant experience all over the metro area.

Starch, salt, sugar and grease are the 4 food groups. Cooking oil is purchased by the gallon. Rice is central. There are excellent restaurants in Medellin but very few of them specialize in Colombian food. Some outlier examples of those few restaurants are Idilico, El Trompo, and oci. Mde. I hope they survive the quarantine. This thread is about the Medellin restaurant scene and Colombian food. Moving on from Colombian food, the restaurant scene was very good and improving pre-coronavirus. Provenza, Milan, Envigado and even Buenos Aires are where you can find interesting and well prepared meals. The typical overcooked meat with heavily seasoned starchy sides can be found everywhere. The fruit juice is the best of most of the executive lunches, if you remember to order it with no added sugar.

I don't have an opinion. I will share these facts. The Minister of Transportation and the President confirmed there will be no flights until at least September 1. By act of Congress, airlines that operate in the United States are required to provide full refunds in the event they cancel flights because of Coronavirus travel restrictions.

One of my flights for June 6 they kept active knowing there was a travel ban.

What they did was cancel my flight from medellin to ft Lauderdale and kept active my flight from fort Lauderdale to New York. If I can't get to fort Lauderdale then how the hell I am going to fly from ft Lauderdale to New York

I had one girl come to my place. And it seem for certain she didn't come to fuck. It seem like she was not experience with her intentions to steal and was texting excessively and fast like she was receiving instructions. After about 20 minutes or so she made an excuse about something going wrong at home and she had to leave. Subsequent 2 other girls tried the same method and I started to feel am I being targeted. They were from tinder but could easily be from centro area or all been working together. As I mentioned before. Tinder has changed dramatically from university girls to now young and older hustlers. Definitely be alert.

You're right -- most people, both Colombians and extranjeros, prefer Peruvian, Italian, Mexican, etc over actual Colombian food. Although every once in a while a good Bandeja Paisa really hits the spot.

Airlines are getting worst, and it will probably get even worse. Check out the prices, they have raised them dramatically, this sucks. I am changing my game and just going to drive to Monterrey now and screw them. I will only fly to Tijuana occasionally and maybe Russia over the Holidays depending on the fared, it will be a new world.

It is odd. The announcement about 8/31 is out. Copa then cancelled my August trip, but JetBlue has not cancelled my early July trip yet. I'm just waiting. Either way I'll get a credit which I will use to schedule a flight somewhere else or to Medellin later. Not quite sure I have a great explanation for the two different strategies.

Of course they have never tried it, they are just assuming I guess. On his first trip out Blakman proved that all you have to do is open your mouth. A closed mouth does not get fed, and I certainly would not go around saying how impossible something is if I have not at least tried it a few times.

For years over in the Thailand thread I have been saying how you can get one of the esteemed gogo girls for a fraction of the price if you find them somewhere outside of the gogo, at a disco for instance. Guys have always said how impossible it was and treated these chicks like unicorns that would only accept the expensive price they get in the gogo. They have acted like the only place you can run into one of these chicks is in the gogo and the chicks are not out everyday doing regular shit like regular people.
