I am going on Vacation from Dec 6 to Jan 25. I would like to rent my apartment while I am out of town. I prefer longer term, 2 to 4 weeks or even longer. Adults only, no children Preferably 1 or 2 single adults or couples.

This is my home; I only rent it out when I am on a long vacation. I am looking for some low impact punters. If I find what I am looking for I can accept as low as 200,000 a day. I can also accept pesos, dollars, here or in the USA and also credit cards.

I haven't passed on information in awhile, so thought I'd do so.

Things pretty much the staus quo over the past year as it pertains to prices and best spots to meet chicas looking to hook-up.

For me, I prefer finding a chica for the afternoon on the beach, en Playa Hollywood. There typically is a good mix of locals and chicas from other cities. I especially enjoy meeting a chica who has just arrived to Cartagena for her first time, as such a girl is many times un-hardened and has the freshness and excitement of a tourist.

There will be chicas who just arrived that are staying at a place like Pleyclub who come to the beach during the day to relax, etc. They will have to back around 6 or 7, but during the afternoon they are on their own time. Many times you will run into chicas who have come to Cartagena for a couple of weeks or so, especially ones from Cali and Medellin. Others from Bquilla and Santa Marta may come on the weekend for the purpose of having some fun and making a little money.

You'll get local chicas who are going to school, etc., who don't frequent la playa on a regular basis, but who show-up to see what opportunity arises.

Meeting the chicas on the beach is pretty easy if you speak a little Spanish. If you don't then you'll want to ask someone like a Tony or other local who works on the beach everyday to go speak to the chica and next thing you know she's at your tent introducing herself and sitting next to you.

I typically never mention money or price and just build a rapport while sitting on the beach sharing a few cold ones and enjoying the conversation. If the chemistry's good, I'll invite them back to the apartment for a little private party.

For me, 2-3 hours of fun back at the apartment from around 4-7 pm is what I enjoy, and then I'll take care of la chica as she's getting ready to leave. Some can stay longer, others need to get back home or to wherever they are staying. Just depends on the chica's situation. While I know some guys like to negotiate upfront for less, etc., I just prefer not to put the focus on the money aspect and usually give 100-120 mil pesos. It's very rare that la chica even counts what I give her, as we've built a rapport and she trusts that I'm not the kind of guy who wants to give her 30-40 mil pesos for 2-3 hours of sexual bliss.

If the chemistry was really good, you'll probably want to get her cell number and hook-up with her on another day, or just tell her to look for you again in Playa Hollywood. Maybe one of her friends would like to come along the next time and the three of you can have a party back at your aparment. It's really just up to you and what you like.

For night time action, I can say that things have been pretty much the same the past year as it pertains to LDV and Electra. Some nights there will be 70. 80 chicas and 20-25 guys, other nights there might be 30-40 chicas and 10-15 guys. I have never been when there are more guys than chicas. I think the worst ratio I've ever seen was around 2-1 in favor of the chicas. And that is a rarity.

Sometimes you will see the same chicas and other times there will be new faces. Sometimes there seems to be mostly hardcore pros, other times there will be plenty of fresh, new chicas that you've never seen before. I can't really pinpoint it to certain night of the week, because as soon as I think a certain night of the week is better, I'm proven wrong on my next visit.

You may go one night or one trip to find that it seems to be mostly, if not all, hardcore regular chicas with much mileage, only to go another night or the next week or month to find a bunch of fresh, un-hardened, beautiful faces. Again, just when you think the place has gone completely downhill and there are only a bunch of hardcore 5's and 6's that you wouldn't think of inviting back to your place, you'll go another time and feel like you're a kid in a candy store who has more than enough choices (or at times, too many choices and you can't have them all).

There will be chicas of every size, shape, hair color and skin pigmentation. There will be some with plastic upgrades and plenty of a la natural. The standard procedure is for you to make the initial introduction or contact, although they will be trying to make eye contact, dance directly in front of you while your sitting at a table, intentionally bump into you, touch you as you're walking by, etc.

I prefer to hang-out for an hour or two to see if I can get a vibe for a chica that will suit my taste and make for a fun night. It's okay to arrive anytime from say 11:30 pm to 2:00 am, as they will start leaving from 2:00 to 3:00 am (closing time for LDV). Many will then go on to Electra, which seems to mostly close around 5 am on the weekends, but has closed earlier (say 4:00 am) on many of occassions.

While on several occassions I've hung out with or run into guys who meet chicas at LDV who ask for 400-600 mil, I have yet to have such an experience. I still prefer never to mention money and then just give them what I think is appropriate when they go to leave, which is typically 150-220 mil for what ends-up being 3-5 hours back at the apartment. Some will leave your place around 6-7 am, others will crash there if you like so that you can have a little more fun when you both awake. Again, just depends on the chicas' situation and your personal preference and chemistry with her.

For me, I think building a rapport and chemistry through conversation, sharing laughs, flirtation, etc., goes a long way in avoiding those situations where it becomes all about the money and the girl wants double or triple want you feel is appropriate. I think one can also develop a knack for finding the chica that has the demeanor/personality that best fits his own style/expectation, and that in itself well greatly lessen the chance of having one of those bad experiences.

I know others prefer to set all the parameters upfront with a chica to avoid any surprises and I certainly understand that viewpoint. You just have to do what works best for you and best suits your personality. I can't say that there is only one best approach to do things. We are all different in some aspect or another. I also recognize that the best approach and experience can certainly be different for a guy who is there for his first time, especially if his Spanish is pretty much nil other than "hola" and "gracias".

I've seen it happen many times where the guy doesn't develop a rapport and chemistry, doesn't have much conversation with the girl and then gets her back to his apartment only to discover that she wants 400-500 mil for an hour or two. For that type a guy, I think it is better to get all the specifics settled upon before leaving for the apartment. I guess to me it's kind of a decision as to whether you approach it solely as a "transaction", or whether you take a little time to make a "friend" who has as much fun being with you as you do with her. There's really is no right or wrong. Just what suits your personal taste and personality. Different strokes for different folks so to speak.

Can you and do guys get chicas from LDV for less than 150-220 mil? The answer is yes, but the girls do talk to each other and they don't like for another girl to know that they accepted something less than what they all are trying to get from you. Makes sense to me. If the shoe were on the other foot, you'd probably do the same thing and try to get your collegues to have the same floor or benchmark range for a price. The attorneys do it in the city where you live with their hourly rates, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that there are girls there who try to collaborate with each other on the going rate.

If you have a great time with girl and you end-up giving her more, say 300-400 mil or so for TLN. Don't stress over it and don't let some other guy try to give you a hard time about it. There are guys who will try to make you feel like a fool because he pays less or even gave less to the same chica. There are guys there who want to spend more time bragging about how little they pay than they do spending time actually bangin' chicas.

For me, I am not in Cartagena to brag to other gringos about how much money I saved on this or that. Nor do I want to spend my time listening to some guy go on and on about the one and only "right way" (their way) to save a few bucks. I am there to have fun with the chicas and that is how I prefer to spend my time. I do not go to Cartagena to spend time listening to some know-it-all who thinks his way is the one and only one-size fits all approach.

No one likes to get taken and it's great to share information and to solicit information from others. But when you run into that guy who wants to force feed you and/or continually make you feel like a fool. Just realize that you are in control of who you spend your time with and how you prefer to spend your money and that you really didn't come there to spend either of them with him.

On to a different subject.

While I know the taxi fares for 2010 will be published in the New Year. For 2009 I've paid 15 mil for transportation to and from the airport to Laguito. 5 mil during the day and 6 mil at night for to and from Laguito and the old city. 8 mil to and from Laguito and the Caribe Plaza Mall. 8 mil to and from Laguito and Crespo. 20-25 mil from Laguito to the Bus Terminal. 6 or 7 mil at night for either to or from Laguito and Calle Arsenal in Gestemani.

They still do police checkpoints at night around the little police station in Laguito. It can be on either side of the street and can be on various nights and at different times at night. It has happened a many night to me, but I've never run into a situation in Laguito that turned bad. I always have a photocopy of my passport with me, and the chica with me has always had her cedula. Sometimes I'm asked to empty all my pockets and get patted-down, other times not so much, but I'm always asked where I'm from and for my passport.

You'll want to confirm with the chica that she has her cedula with her before leaving with you or meeting you at your apartment. She will need it in case of a police checkpoint and she will also need it to be allowed to go up with you to your apartment. Since in Colombia they are required to carry it with them anyway, she will most likely have it with her. And if she doesn't, don't go there. Don't pass go.

This is one of the best summaries of life in Laguito I've ever read; balanced, sane and accurate. Certainly mirrors my experiences in CTG. Fortunately I missed most of the nights when only the hardcores are there. I've always managed to meet decent women in LDV or on the beach via Tony or directly. I don't even step foot in LDV when visiting Cartagena because I know the gals will be asking for and sticking to a price that in my estimation is unreasonable for an hours worth of compania (I never do TO Da La Noche). If I wanted to pay $100.00 for an hour or more of services, I would simply go back to Costa Rica were there are hundreds more women to choose from.

I walk the streets of El Laguito and Boco Grande/Hollywood Beach during the late afternoon hours and can typically find something that appeals to me and will go for an hour for $50.00 or so. Get them to drop by the apartment in the early evening for some fun, then have the rest of the evening to eat, drink, have a swim, go clubbing, or hang out with likeminded buddies and just relax.

Cartagena has recently become my number one, easily accessable destination for just chillin out and having a great time for 5 or 6 days.

I agree that Hilltoppers report about LDV is accurate. I find the girls will lower their rates if they get to know you better. I also noticed the lighter skinned girls were asking for more money, but I only asked a few so I can't be sure. I had problems finding "play for pay" girls daytime at the beaches near Hotel Dann. They didn't seem to be there. Did not see any afternoon action in LaGuita, things seemed to start in the evening. On my last nite in Cartagena I met a taxi driver who spoke English. He told me that every girl in Cartagena is available.
