I have been other places not DR and I know you are exactly right but I had a brain freeze when I told her I will be there 4 days instead of saying maybe 2. I am going to do six in reality, but I should have told her 2 and left it at that. I have thought about it after your post and have excused it to 3 days with her (LOL). She does have a job and I will see how her schedule is and I am going to work that to my advantage.

Claro and Orange are the two biggest cell phones companies in Dominican Republic. Claro has a shop on the second floor of the airport.
Claro sells cell phones for about 500 pesos (about 13 US Dollars). You add minutes to your prepaid Claro cell phone by purchasing phone cards, 60 pesos, 100 pesos, 250 pesos, 500 pesos. For Claro you dial 1133, press send and then enter the code from under the scratch off part from the back of the phone card you purchased. Very Easy. Some guys buy chips and switch out the chip when they are in Dom Rep. A chica told me a chip for Orange is 200 pesos.
Having a local cell phone will save you money.
On the first floor of the airport at las americas airport, there are about 6 ATM machines. To receive money from ATM machines in Santo Domingo, generally you have to chose Spanish as the language.

mardonius if you are a non spanish speaking person like my self you just need to know deposit, withdraw, checking and savings in spanish and the atm transaction is quite simple. i always try english first and if there is a problem i will select the spanish menu. don't know why but the spanish menu always seem to spit out my cash. who knows, maybe the machine is saving the last pesos for locals.
if bringing $usd there are casa de cambios rep001tered all about the city. franks on el conde usually gives the best exchange. the biggest rip offs for exchanging money will be at the airport and at the hotels. travelers checks are pretty much a no no to bring. a lot of places don't want to be bothered cashing them or the hassle is not worth it.
don't forget to print out the boricua online map. it is a great map to fold up and put in your pocket when you are out and about. some of the cab drivers don't know where some of the casas are so the map will come in handy.

For an English functioning ATM, use the one in the Jaragua Hotel/Casino, turn right at the check-in desk walk past dining area and across from the turn to the banquet rooms, the ATM is there; safe and secure. If you stay at the Riazor, you can walk to the hotel/casino and walk in through the back door and the ATM is before the check-in desk, coming in from the opposite direction. I was hooked up with a nice girl from one of the Conde tour guides and dated her exclusively for a couple years. She wouldn't want to be seen walking Conde, guess she thought that was below her. But I didn't mind. There was a big difference with the cost of a cab when we were together. I was stuck with "gringo" fare if I was alone, lol. I respectfully disagree with your opinion. I believe there is a corelation between usage and tightness. The viginal walls tend to collapse/shrink when sex is avoided for an extended period of time. That is why Doctors always advise pregnant women to have frequent sex while pregnant, so that the walls are expanded to ease the passage of the newborn.
