As for legitimate massage. There is the Four Seasons opposite Flamingos. Given it's location it was surprisingly, and disappointingly, legitimate and fairly good. I've had good massages at Blue 7 Khmer and Islands in Siem Reap and they both have branches on Sisowath Quay.

There is a place called Sokun's Place on Sisowath near Street 104. I've hear that it's a hair salon downstairs and a massage place upstairs. The massage is supposed to be good, but they will also finish you off with hand relief if you fancy it. That's a theory I plan to test soon.

Quick report on 4N / 5D night stay in PP.

On my first afternoon, went looking around Central Market and in the Tuk Tuk on the way back saw a nice Italian restaurant that I fancied. So I decided to return there for supper and a couple of beers, before heading off to "hunt" later around the girlie bars near the Quayside.

Tuk tuk dropped me by Golden Soraya shopping mall, which was just round the corner from the restaurant I'd seen. I hadn't realised that Heart of Darkness was on this street, so went for a look but it was completely empty, it was about 09:40pm and the doorman told me that it doesn't warm up till 11pm earliest. I carried on walking towards the restaurant and noticed a group of girls at another bar about 3/4 doors away; one of them looked so charming and beautiful but in an understated way so I decided to stop for a pre-dinner beer and see what happened. Well, she joined me in no time, we chatted and hit it off immediately, so I asked if she wanted to go for dinner with me.

After that, back to her bar for another couple of beers and some pool, and by now we're getting on great, so I asked if she would join me for the night. Of course. US$7 bar fine and we agreed US$30 all night. Not going into the details but it was a fabulous night and I had 3 hours sleep! Unbelievable!

The following evening I decided to explore the Quayside girlie bars. My mood wasn't really there after the previous nights exertions, and a touch of food poisoning from the restaurant (which turned out to be shite BTW!) so I just decided to have a few beers around these bars and look up possible options for the nights ahead. I probably visited about 7/8 bars and saw girls hanging outside in that many again and wasn't much taken by the quality or friendliness in any of them.

So the following night I just went back to my original bar, found my friend, paid the bar fine and had a fine evening out. And not much sleep afterwards, again for US$30! On departing the following morning she informed me that today (Sunday) besides being my last day, was also her day off, so we agreed to meet at my hotel at 4pm.

Well, this lovely girl, who didn't look much like a hooker anyway, showed up at 4pm on the dot, scrubbed up like an absolute gem and looking every inch the of sort of sweet, homely girl you'd be proud to take anywhere. We had drinks in the FCC, a long romantic stroll along the quayside as the sun set, and then she took me to a top end Vietnamese restaurant where $US10 brought more supper than both of us could finish.

Then back to my hotel for another US$30 worth of sleepless night, and a sad farewell the following day.

Probably not a typical experience, and judging by the girls I saw elsewhere, and the fact I found her by accident when I wasn't "looking" I think I was just incredibly lucky.

Nice way to brighten up my holiday though!

1. Her name is Mallee, which is my guess at spelling based on her pronunciation. Name disclosed on assurances that you will look after her.

2. I don't remember the Italian restaurant, but just checked on Google maps and I'm reasonably certain it was "Genova" as this is shown at about the right spot.

3. Really sorry I don't remember the bar name at all. Best I can do by way of a description is: starting at Heart of Darkness on Street 51 and facing toward Central Market (so that Soraya Mall is on your left and HoD on your right) , walk towards the market. There are 2/3 girlie bars, with tables outside. Her bar is pretty basic, probably about 5/6 girls sitting around a couple of tables outside, inside, a pool table at the front, then a bar on the left and tables on the right.

4. The one thing I did do correctly is take a note of the Vietnamese restaurant, which is Magnolia.

BTW on the pricing front I didn't really know the market so I thought that US$50 might be about right for all night, so I opened the bidding at US$30 and she accepted straightaway and didn't ever mention price again, or ask for anything more.

I'm super paranoid but as always a possible scenario is drugged & robbed & back over the border never to be seen again.

Not sure if it's a single girl as advertised or an escort service, one of the many youtube pages I found her number on linked to a saigon escort agency.

Might give her a ring when I'm in town next week. Pricey but I'll take one for the team.

There's an infamous scammer in HCMC, a Singaporean, who just scams and does whatever it takes to attract victims I mean customers. If he's using the same photo with different names, it means it's fake. Bait and switch scam, just one of many for this guy. I know he's big on youtube though. Has tons of videos up of all kinds of things. Oh and anyone who goes and gives him business, he'll video them and post their face up online. Have fun with that.

But I could be wrong and this isn't him at all. I'd say if you get a guy answering, good chance it's him.

PM me a link to either the youtube or website and I'll take a look and let you know if it looks like the same shady character.

Popped into the 69 Bar the other night. A LOT of girls, and I think something for everyone. Linked up with a young gal fresh from the provinces and first night on the job. The usual story, a young baby back in the provinces, deserted by her husband etc.

Sharky's Friday night had quite a good band playing, but not overly crowded which I found surprising and the place seemed to empty out as the night went on. A few gals hanging around, but generally pickings were quite slim.

Had a meal at the Shanghi, and as usual a bevy of young lasses to keep you company, and most quite nice.

Have dropped into a few spas around town, mostly upmarket, for a massage. Quite good aromatherapy massages, can be very arousing, but unfortunately nothing else on offer. Would love to find a lace where I can actually get a good quality massage, plus a few extras, but haven't had any luck to-date.
