For two reasons, I was walking my guests in and out: because it is gentleman-like (in my eyes), and I was insuring that my guests were never unattended in the building. The administrator saw me entering with a girl, daily, and did not take a liking to that. And I had established this routine before Knowledge issued the memo advising against it.

According to the unit owner, initially the administrator wanted to ban me from having any guests. But I had already told the owner, no guests = no tenant. And I'm probably the owner's only income at this time, since he's a tour guide. Then, the administrator wanted to ban my guests from using the elevator. But I live on the 17th floor. Then, they agreed that I can have a list of three approved guests, and that they can take the elevator up to my apartment, but I can not meet them on the ground floor. This to me is an odd cultural difference, but whatever.

I told the owner that having one friend over per day is not excessive, but he's under the gun now too. I agreed to the three guest rule, because it's mid-month and I can look for another place while the dust settles. But I hate that I'm now under the radar.

There are three porteros that work here: two of them alternate 12-hour shifts. And there is a relief portero, who covers when one of the main guys is off. The relief portero is younger and chill and hasn't registered any of my guests. This afternoon when I headed out for a walk, the portero, who I had perceived to be the more strict among them, whispered to me that I could still have guests, but that I have to wait in my apartment for them. OK, cool. That leaves the other guy, and he's the one that likes to ask me about my little Perfect 10 that comes over. So as of now, what I think I'm going to do, is put them both on the payroll, and see if that works. I'll slip them each the occasional 50 k note and let them know when a girl is coming over.

In the meantime, I have to appointments to look at new apartments, while I decide what to do.

A lot can happen in 10 weeks, but current indications don't give much hope that what happens will be good, at least not for people coming from the US.

I'll be waiting to make plans after an actual entry policy is in place.

Iceland and Greece along with other Countries allowing this will be an indicator in the coming months if they have had issues where somebody tested negative upon arrival but were subsequently positive. Unfortunately it's an un-known evolving story, and a dire one for sure.

Airlines have been selling tickets for return to Colombia since the beginning of the month for flights beginning on September 1 as everyone knows. Yet the bio-safety requirements have yet to be announced by the Colombian Government. No way to speculate what they might be, let alone International travel being postponed or limited, because ten weeks from now the "landscape" will be very different as evidenced as how things have happened across the world. Just three months ago could anyone ever of imagined where things are at in the USA. It's mind blowing to say the least.

I just wondered if anyone could tell me the easiest way to get some weed? In the past we have got a taxi up to somewhere. Guayabal I think. Very cheap, but it's too much of a hassle.

The possibilities are endless. Speculating about them is as good a way to kill time as any other. If the latest government decrees and street activity are any indication (restaurants open for table service, salas de masaje and apartments up and running, street scene more active than pre-virus, public transportation packed to the gills, and inter-city transportation set for July 1 resumption) the September date looks promising.

The good news is there are other options unless anyone absolutely must come here. I feel we are lucky here to have two or so flights to Florida every week since late March. They are pretty darned expensive but it takes a lot of pressure out of the equation.

My other bit of advice was to review the building rules before you confirm a booking. Anyone who follows that advice will know their options. I regret that I did not pipe in sooner about how to avoid becoming the star of the building's security videos.

I am sorry my predictions about how this played out were correct. If you are interested, my advice at this point is to move to a new building as soon as you can. I'm a little concerned you mentioned some of your visitors were "repeats". That makes no difference to the building administration. You covered an important point I neglected to mention, or maybe I just made the mistake to assume it goes without saying. It is very problematic if girls come to your building in skimpy or provocative clothing. The terms most will understand are "vestimiento adecuado" or "prendas decentes".
