Plenty of us are old snake heads already, and have some fun with girls up to 40 years younger. Too young to be suitable for a GF but very suitable for good fun.

Now that is very rare. Even working gals want guys closer to their own age now. The 60 plus men I see are usually with gals well into their 30's if not 40's. It isn't the same; not at all.

I am not aware of 40 year gap relationships being common in former times. However I don't hang out in the right areas to see it, most likely. Would Pattaya pubs be the place to see it? So I have not noticed significant change, although accept that changed economic situations and social values will bring change for sure.
I know very well that I am not socialising with Farangs in Thailand that much, quite anti-social I guess, and that would have been the case many years ago as well. I do attend the sports pub, but did not do so many years ago, so cannot make a comparison. Even in the pub, I chat to the Thai girl staff more than the Farangs. So I just have to accept that wide age gap couples are less prevalent.
20 years ago, Pattaya was the anything goes place in Thailand, and Bangkok a lot more stodgy and conservative. However times change and girls wear far more sexy gear in Bangkok these days even showing a cleavage and ass shape in tight pants, and may be less self conscious about walking around hand in hand with an older Farang.
I do have one buddy with a GF 35 years younger Cambodian GF, of about 3 years duration, which does look ludicrous especially as we know she was an Ice addict. He was always known for poor choices (on the surface). When I was first in Thailand, one buddy had a Thai wife that was actually older than him, and with step daughter. A big shock.
My own GF is just over 20 years younger. A little too much. I never meant to pick up a GF. Just fell into it gradually by being sympathetic to a girl's tough situation in life (and finding her rather hot at first). Not a great idea. She has an excellent body which is something. Face starts to look older. Fortunately I look younger than my true age to most Thais. So some may think I only look 15 years older than the Mrs.
One has to feel sorry for a 35 YO girl possibly in her sexual prime stuck with a 75+ man. I suppose she can play up to get some better action. Yet 35 YO girls can be quite happy sexually with 50 to 60 YO guys.

For some strange reason I am spot on with my GF. I see fewer guys with BGs now, most opting instead for gals with a bit more potential in life.
I think Thai gals hit there "dress sexy" peak about 3 or 4 years ago. Since the coup dress has become more and more conservative. I wish they would dress a bit more sexy. Now, some of the Chinese tourist gals are really wearing short shorts et al.

But this is done in the knowledge that spending a longer time together would be disastrous because of so little else in common.

At 36, I was indeed interested in 25 YO girls approx.
We could say from age 22, since that gives an 18 YO girl.

When I was really young, never got the opportunity to have wild sex with hot young girls, also GF and wife never lived up to expectations. Never had the experience and training to select a woman compatible. After escape from the wife from hell, comes the desire to find out what hot young sexy girls were like. BTW, Syzygies, I agree with you that P4P sex becomes a habit, I simply disagree with the assessment that it's a BAD habit. So long as one's budget is not being taxed, I think it's a WONDERFUL habit. (It helps that I live a short drive to Tijuana, and that the Mexican Peso is now over 20-1) So now I can get properly laid 3-4 times a week by young hot girls for less money than most folks spend on groceries, all in inclusive of travel expenses. I'm spending under $100 US a week on my habit at current exchange rates.
