Hi again,
Since I don't have a ton of time in CTG. Anyone have personal preferences to the list given with Stripclubs, Brothels, ext. LDV will be a given to visit.
But was thinking during the day. Activities.
Thanks

Ajordan
Isis is my favorite. Located in the old city. Some dimes on site but they are expensive. I like to go and flirt with them and get a phone number for the afternoon.
Daytime for me is the playa.
Look on the List.
There are a few things to do in the day, such as city tours; day and night. There are a few shopping centers; good for lunch.
Chiva rum bus at night.
Check out the clubs in the old town.
Go out to the Islands. Diving and Snorkeling.

My personal preference is scouting the beach during the day, then LDV and Electra at night.
This is the Tony everyone is referring to.
Thanks for the picture.
Luckily I've only used him once on beach for beers, chairs etc and was overpriced.
There is a thread on www.poorbuthappy.com Colombia forum about this incident, with links to a few news articles (in spanish) and commentary from some gringos who were staying at Playa Mar or in close proximity.
SrLengua
The english news Colombia reports.com reports that 270 extra police have been sent to Cartagena after a New Years crime wave.Uribe is determined to keep Cartagena safe for tourists.
I've been searching if Hotel Dann is chica friendly or not. I don't see any clear answers. Can someone let me know? I'm considering staying there for a couple of nights next month.
Thanks
If you haven't already, type "dann" into the search function here within this thread and you will have quick access to every post that mentions the Hotel Dann in Cartagena.
I did just that and in 5 minutes had scanned dozens of posts. Appears from older posts that it's chica friendly, but with a "fee".
There's a reason that the vast majority of guys who frequent Cartagena stay in an apartment instead of a hotel. It's cheaper, more spacious, better value, better equipped/more luxurious, less hassle, chica friendly without a guest fee, etc. If any of those things appeal to you, you may want to re-consider and rent an apartment from Juan or Mery, etc.
All the best,
Hilltopper

Thanks Hilltopper.
I had searched the forum but I looking for any more recent information.
Anyway - I followed your advise and got an apartment.
Juan has nice apartments, and Mery is out of commission for a little while, she got run over a few days ago by a car and is in the hospital, with some fractures, she will make it, but she is going to be out of commission for a while.
Hotels in Cartagena, are too expensive, and the rooms are small.
You can get a decent apartment from Juan for around $ 65-70 a night.

He will take good care of you and his apartments are very nice, I would never get a hotel in CTG as the apartments are "MADE" for the Nasty.I will be in CTG end of June for 10 days and have a great apartment already reserved with Juan.My 10th time with Juan I think.
I live in Angeles City, Philippines, which is a mongers paradise for $25 U.S. LT and literally hundreds of go go bars full of 18 year old plus girls.
But it has always been a plan of mine to visit Colombia, until just recently. Friends recently made a trip to this city and said finding girls was difficult (for the older guy), the prices very expensive, and just did not enjoy their trip at all. They were quoting prices in the hundreds of U.S. dollars and by the hour service.
I will of course read the board in detail before making any trip, but can anyone point me to a post that reflects the scene there and how one goes about having a successful trip.
Thanks

Best other option is asking doormen at nice, new buildings in front of beach -- many have absentee owners who are renting. Found excellent apartments this way, in same price range as Juan's. Very good for a couple guys sharing as some aptos are huge. Can anyone verify rumor of US military personnel (enlisted ugh) being posted to Cartagena as that will be the kiss of death to LDV?

I've met many ex-military hobbyists on my trips. They tell me when they get stationed overseas. Lunch hours is like a madhouse in the casas. LOL
