For psychotropic drugs, even rather mild ones like Ambien, Valium, etc. , there is a routine one is supposed to go through, including applying for the right to bring them in before you take the trip, but I doubt many take this requirement very seriously unless one is doing something like carrying narcotics for pain reduction.

As to psychotropic drugs, the law in Thailand is clear that you cannot bring them in without advance approval assuming it is a psychotropic drug that is let in the country at all. Given the lax customs procedures at the airport it is unlikely bringing such drugs through the green customs line without declaring them will result in a problem, but it is not out of the question it could if customs should decide to examine your baggage. In any event, your uneducated speculation about what would or would not work for psychotropic drugs if caught with them is just that, uneducated speculation.
