Just a quick report on my first trip to Ghana. Ups and downs.
2 layovers and a total 20 hours travel time originating from the US east coast, I had finally arrived in Kotoka Airport in Accra. A very small airport with a little restaurant I found downstairs inside the airport that I milked drinks in while I waited few hours for check-in to start for my late night return flight.
I track down my bag, run through customs and head to the currency exchange booth. I exchange $1000 US right at 4 cedi to 1 dollar. Next I look for the free WiFi to summon an Uber car. (Yes uber in Accra. No need to spend my fun cash, and extremey low pricing for taxi service.) No free airport wifi! So on to plan be, a taxi from the airport. I March past all the OFFICIAL taxis at the entrance as if I already had a ride because no matter where I travel in the world they typically charge the most. I get down to the street and flag taxi after taxi for the fair price of 15 cedi to Osu. Each started with 40 cedi and would go no lower than 30.5 or 6 taxis later I said screw it and paid the 30 cedi. Shit 15 cedi extra is $3 and change in the US. I'm not going to let $3 ruin my arrival.
I set up my stay at the Lake Bosumtwi Hotel / Apartments across the street from Ako Adjei park in Osu. A five min walk to Oxford St. With close access to most of the happenings. It was a quick 20 min taxi ride from the airport while the driver and I had laughs as he pointed out and honked at the waving on duty pros on many of the street corners.
I arrive and begin check in. The hotels credit card machine does not accept my credit card as Credit but keeps demanding a card PIN which I do not know or ever used. It's almost 10 pm, I whip out my magic jack and call my credit card provider for help. The bank tells the hotel manager I have more than enough funds and no charge has been attempted from their hotel per their records. Nothing else they can do. I tell the hotel front desk to call their card reader merchant provider and ask for an alternate form to receive pay. They call, and the merchant will be their by 12 pm next day. The manager who has been very accommodating shows me to my room (without me paying) and says please do not worry we will sort it out tomorrow but tonight sleep well. She gives me an upgraded room for the night. Very nice accomadations much a kin to an apartment with separated quarters. I believe it was the $130 US dollar per night room where I paid for the suite which was $100 per night. Just additional info. I normally pay for my hotels online to ensure no issues, unless I get a good cash discount like in Sosua for ex. In this case I found this place on Airbnb which I use often. However when I found that I could not pay in advance on the Airbnb website which is unusual, and no reviews for this person or the hotel were there. I messaged the posting host and she directed me to the hotel website which states you only pay at check in, AND it showed a price of $15 per night less expensive than advertised on Airbnb. I quickly cross check the hotel on TripAdvisor for reviews and found they were all good reports. I contacted them directly and booked my stay ensuring they knew I was paying via my American. Mastercard credit card. I also questioned the hotel manager regarding the price difference and she tells me the online host is a concierge service and the extra charge is what they are paid for their advertising. So FYI guys, if you see the same person showcasing many hotels and apartments online, try to find the place you like website for the real price.
I knock out and the next day the merchant arrives and we download slydepay app on my smartphone. He explains the many payment benefits in Ghana thru Slydepay, I pay online for my room and my start is now official.
I move to my suite which I like more than the upgrade, order breakfast off their menu (No restaurant on the grounds however you can order breakfast, lunch and salads off of their somewhat limited but very reasonably priced menu).
I ask the hotel manager for the fair taxi price for Oxford st. (5 cedi) and the best place to buy a phone, and a store to purchase the essentials. (beer, water, mouthwash, food cooked and uncooked) forgot to mention the suite has an equipped mini kitchen and living area (see it online). She grabs her bag and says come on. She personally walks me up to Oxford st. And escorts me personally to each location while translating their local language. Shoprite is on Oxford st. For your grocery needs, Airtel is across the street from Shoprite. The official phone store is located on the main level and you buy the Sim card and phone plan from a store directly above the phone store. I purchased the least expensive smartphone with 1 plus gig processor and 8 gig ram extendable plus, dual sim at 250 cedi. It was a windows lumina p. O. s (piece of sh! After trying to use it. Ill never venture from android again LOL, except for an iphone. For less than 50 cedi more I could of purchased an android. I know better now. It's screwy location system and Internet made getting Uber and using the Here map apps extremely difficult. I couldn't get Google maps on it either and the waze map which Uber uses as well sucked on it. (I only ubered 35% of the time due to the sucky phone.) Also you can buy most grocery needs and airtime from the tiny street stands littered up and down every block. (I constantly checked with the front desk or my girls for the typical price I should be paying instead of the foreigner prices).
I get back and scroll thru my list of ladies I pipelined a few days in advance and requested numbers and distances. By the next 2 hours I had 16 plus #'s with locations from 8 hours away (still wanting to come) and less.

That evening I grab a bite to-go from Monsoons, while waiting I check out a couple of really pretty girls, say Hello, but am really drained after that session. I call my wing on the way out and report my findings. I get home eat get in the bed and he calls me back, he has locked down 2 pretty girls from Monsoon and they are all waiting on me to meet them at Shi sha lounge. I ve got to ensure my wing does'nt get any interference so I get dressed and bounce. I arrive and he has the same 2 girls with him. Way to go Bigdog!! We have a few drinks and laugh, even switch chicks after a while because we feel were both barking up the wrong tree. Bingo! We are in. We both head back to our places with gorgeous chicks in tow. The lower priced ones I found at the smaller neighborhood pharmacies not the big ones. And they work great. The generic sidenfil 50 to 100 MG ran 10 cedi per pill. I found the generic at a pharmacy on the side street directly accross from Frankies hotel and restaurant which is also on oxford st. And 1 block away from shoprite.
I also paid for a room at Frankies for a few day in addition to my original hotel due to parading to many women in and out of my small hotel. I needed a second spot. I had an uninvited chick show up while I was out with the main chick. I found the rooms at Frankies to be less desirable than Lake Bosumtwi which are equally or slightly lower priced. However Frankies has a restaurant on site that is opened almost around the clock and they serve breakfast all day, along with an ice cream / pastry room.
Labadi beach hotel has a very nice breakfast buffet for 110 cedi.
Near the Roots hotel (which is a nice place with great security to keep the crazies out. Bigdogchris stayed there) is planet kabob on Oxford st. , a very reasonably priced but good fast food joint.
Sights and things to: During the day labadi beach starts getting packed, 10 cedi by cab and 10 cedi per person to enter. You can sit either at a table on the beach or inside the 2 story hut style bars and restaurants facing the ocean. Plenty of women. My date and I typically sat inside Venice city bar and grill on the beach while we watched all of the entertainment on the beach from competitions to shows, the music and atmosphere is very nice. Decent tours. See bottom of report.
Night time:
Shi Sha lounge is a hookah bar and grill in Osu opened 7 days a week.
Monsoon is a bar and grill with good but pricey food, bigdog and I picked up really hot chicks there.
Plot 7 in Osu jumps Thurs, Friday and sat. The selection there of beautiful hot girls is ridiculous. Nowhere near enough guys to handle the amount there.
Afrikikos has Latin flavor nights from salsa on- starting Wednesdays thru Sunday. Reminds me of a beer garden setup with a dance floor in the middle.
Honeysuckle I went to on a Sunday the football match was on but I'm told it typically rocks.
Firefly I and Osu is just Ok, we picked up a couple of cuties there.

For the most part all the girls were open to sex upon arrival to my room after a little chatting, laughing and caressing while watching TV on the bed. I also toured cape Coast and did a few tours around accra- Makola market, Jamestown light house etc. I met up with a friend of a friend who owns a restaurant in cape coast. He showed us around for the tours. He took very good care of us for the tours and is willing to help any one from getting in to Accra or Cape coast, hotels etc. Good person.
