That's pretty scary. You would think of any club in Jakarta this one would have some bouncers packing heat who would handle the situation pretty quickly. I know its typical for large clubs/bars in Thailand to have a few guys onsite who are heavily armed, but this apparently wasn't the case.

But than an hour for the cops to arrive, wonder if they're behind on their payments.

could be fundamentalists, but to be honest this sounds just like the turf wars they have between rival gangs/clubs here in bali to me. the always seem to involve large numbers of dudes with bats and rods and stuff, and a random stabbing or two. just like sharks vs. jets!

Yes, you're right DJ, it does appear to have been simply a turf war between the local preman, not jihadis, just ordinary, decent criminals as it were!

This Stadium attack seems to happen every couple of years. I know this is the 2nd or 3rd attack I recall since I started coming in 2004.
