The Real McCoy May Not Want Your Doughnuts
Dollars for doughnuts they weren't 'real' Japanese. There are alot of north asian chinese and mongolians who speak fluent japanese. They are most likely the girls claiming to be 'japanese' since that distinguishes themselves from the rest of the lot.
Reside and enjoy enough J-Girls in Tokyo for long enough and the native Japanese speaking real McCoy stands out without the need for words. The beauty of it is that whether in Hong Kong or Sydney, they seem to magnetize themselves quickly to the long term Japan expats. Often simply looking for the same sleepless night long romp. Except once, always free without the need for either dollars or doughnuts!
Ever hear of organized crime involved this biz?
I'm afraid I don't believe any of this. I have had "Japanese" girls in countries other than Japan, but without exception they were fairer skinned Chinese or Thai. Why on earth would a femaile from one of the wealthiest countries in the world want to work in a brothel in Macau?
They ARE in Macau (among other places outside Japan) because at least some of the girls working in the places mongers go to to get laid are not 'happy hookers', but part of a [CodeWord908] business controlled by triads, the yakusa, and other dodgy businessmen. They are there because they were sent there, not because they chose to go, or want to be there. It is really too naive to believe otherwise. The Japanese 'model' I had at (I think) the President Sauna in Macau a couple of years ago spoke very good English, was clearly Japanese, and told me she was there on 6 weeks' assignment, and then went back to Tokyo, and that this was the normal rotation of girls from Japan.
Tokyo Hotel recommendations
Thanks to all who replied. To pass along the goodwill, I've aggregated and summarized the replies below, for use by fellow touring mongers.Best, -B----ROPPONGI AREAThe Ibis is located just a 1/2 block up from Roppongi crossing and is in that price range (around USD 150 to 200 per night). The B Roppongi (formerly Baden) is in that price range too. Both are ok but not great, and my main reason for bringing those up is location. Both in the heart of Roppongi and within walking distance of all the bars/clubs. There's also a converted condo/apartment, but I am drawing a blank on the name (Bonzo1 says: I think he is referring to Oakwood Apartments, and it's the same price range)ANA Hotel is a 15 min walk and usually $250 or so per night.---SHIBUYA AREAI think the Cerulean is great. Love the location and the hotel, and have stayed there several times, but it is expensive and not for anyone on a budget. It's also about $300, after you add in the taxes. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend it.---SHINJUKU AREAI often stay over in the Shinjuku area at the Century Hyatt which should be in that price range. It is an easy train ride over to Roppongi with the subway station right across the street from the Hyatt. I usually head over to Roppongi just before midnight and come back on the first train at 5 am , unless I have hooked up with something and then I use a cab. I have brought girls back to the Century Hyatt many times after midnight and no one even bothers to look at you.Besides the Hyatt the Hilton is right across the street along with a bunch of other hotels that would be on a par with the ANA. From the Hyatt it is a short walk to the Shinjuku entertainment district which is nice change of pace from Roppongi. Not too many foreigners there, but if you work at it, you can find some action. If nothing else, it is a great way to kill a couple of hours just walking around taking in the sights. Just be careful of the touts trying to drag you into the clubs.
