Interesting story, and not uncommon I think. It tells somethings about the state of the gogo-scene and especially Soi Cowboy these days. In your situation you could have argued to give only parts of the amount, like 1000, although it could have been difficult to do so, since you already had started the sex.

The barfine used to (until 2015?) be uniform in the gogo-bars, at 700 baht. (With the exception of the "Arab" bars, of course). Nowadays it seems to vary more. I have been quoted 1200 in Electric Blue (Patpong), 700 or 1000 (don't remember) in Twister (NEP) and 2000 in Crazy Cat (Cowboy). In the last one the girl even wanted 3000 for st, instead of the usual 2500. Needless to said I declined. I suppose the BF-prices are negotiable, but when I have tried the reduction they offer is miniscule.

Doing recon for my coming trip to BKK and Patts toward the end of the month, saw that Bangkok112 (the fellow who is fond of surveillance videotaping of punters outside Thermae and Soi Cowboy gropers -- do beware!) reported that Baccara requires 2200 baht in lady drinks (presumably for the girl to be taken, but perhaps that's a total). That's on top of the stated 600 BF /3000ST /5000 LT. Could that ladydrink figure (which is outlandish and would constitute, what, 5-10 drinks?) possibly be correct? And do any other gogos do the same? Names named would be great so that I can take notice, maybe pop in for look-sees, but nothing else. (I've also written down a list of do-avoids: the coyote dancer places.) If I wanted to drop serious coin I'd have the run of the Thermae girls willing to do farang, or try Lord's Palace or some high-end "gentleman's club. " Any intel on this alleged situation would be appreciated.

As Eszzpresszo writes, there are many ways to approach this and you do not have to take any one member's rules as your own. The "nice girl" that sat with you is a coyote dancer. Annies is not the most representative place for Soapies. Guys have been recommending Merci in Ratchada area recently, since Nataree closed. Darling is also a small Soapy nearby. For really up market Soapy try The Lord.

Since you are in Landmark, suggest try daytime bars in Soi 4 such as "Morning Night" and Stumble Inn".

Also some places have barfines that vary depending on how late it is, with certain types of Coyote or show performers not allowed to go before some time.

Girls in front of Nana Hotel. They are very variable. Firstly make sure it is not a ladyboy. Most of the ladyboys are on the opposite side of the street but not always. My ST was also less than 3000. I said I was heading back to Thermae to get a girl there and the Baccara girl quickly accepted the Thermae price of 2500.
