Good to hear you liked the Embajador. Cool to get the "Scarface" historical tidbit. Love dat shit. By the pics the place reminded me of the El Panama in Panama City. An old school sprawling tropical spread where the dictator and his harem hang out.
So I usually like to do about 80% NP and 20% PFP. Lima has been a fav place for being able to acheive that kind of mix. Sto Domingo seems to have similar potential. Of course, they are two completely different places which makes it fun too. Dominican chicks have bigger tits (rico!) but Lima has the better food (rico!). I have been talking to quite a few chicas the last few weeks. Following Helpmann's excellent classification scheme I have run into a few Tigres but thankfully more Gazzelle's. As he accurately observed the gazzeles tend to be the younger ones...under 20. The chicas in DR seem to quite direct for Latinas which is good...it saves time, especially with the Tigres. The Gazzelle's will use Usted with you in the first 5-10 minutes of the convo. Quite sweet. Of course, I am sure not all of them are without guile.
Thanks for the Orbitz tip. I will check that out in the future. Also, Spirit has a credit card that gives you three free flights with approval. I am waiting to hear back on that. They fly direct to Santiago as well. For this trip I used some AA miles so the flight will only cost me $75 RT from Miami.
I may head up to Santiago to check out some hotties. The girls up there seem cuter. I was at La Hamaca in Boca Chica with a cutie for Memorial Day weekend (did not go to downtown SDQ). You are right. It is a good place to take a nice girl. Plus, if she registers you get the Dominican rate even if you pay. We walked to the beach by the strip and we were almost the only tourists there so we got no peace from the plaga of vendedores and left after 20 minutes. I thought they were agressive in Cartagena. Cartagena is like f"in Scandanavia compared to Boca Chica ;-)
The hotel bar and pool at Embajador sound great. Do you know of any restaurants in walking distance from the Embajador?
I like the hotel el embajador. There is a bar in the lobby with tables and chairs around it, they serve food and drink at the lobby bar. When I was there, I did not find the prices at the lobby bar outrageously expensive, not cheap but not outrageous.
I had no trouble bringing in chicas. I needed a good internet connection for some work related stuff that needed to be done and I was given a room on the 5th floor, which is club embajador. There was a reception desk on the 5th floor for guests staying on that floor. Sometimes the workers at the 5th floor reception asked for a chica's cedula, sometimes they didn't.
As in many SDQ bigger hotels, you have to insert your plastic room key card in a slot inside the elevator to get the elevator to go to your floor. Club Embajador is more money and I don't believe it is worth the extra money. When I stayed there, internet, breakfast buffet, snacks and coffee throughout the day, were included in the room rate. I have an ex girlfriend who works at the embajador, who I don't want to run into while I am with other chicas, otherwise I would stay more frequently at el embajador (depending what their current price is and what is included in that price).
Non-pro chicas enjoy the el embajador, most rooms have large balconies with either a view north of the city or a view south toward the water. Non-pro chicas who live in neighborhoods like herrera will be closer to the hotel emabajador. Chicas who live in zona oriental will be further away.
I read that the former dictator Trujillo had a large penthouse type apartment at the hotel el embajador, where he would entertain his girlfriends. Also, as I have posted before, parts of "Scarface" was filmed there.
Parts of the pool are about 8 feet deep and the days I used the pool, I had the pool to myself. Many newer hotels have shallow pools, which are not as good for swimming.
Any questions just fire away.

They have a webpage. I read on Dominican Today that the Body Shop Athletic gym in Naco got caught stealing electricity. There is also a Gold's Gym in SDQ. Supposedly in Zona Colonial is a basic gym that sells daily memberships. I don't know the prices yet. http://www.clubbodyshop.com/
I have seen Dominicans entering the Olympic park with workout clothes. From looking at the Google map of SDQ appears the Olympic park has a few athletic venues, maybe a pool.
Drinking lots of cerveza fattens me up and now that I quit smoking I am eating more.
Naco is a good neighborhood, might be some nice and firm chicas working out at that those gyms.
I had a 6 month membership there back in 2001/2002. I loved the pool on the roof. I would hit that after 40 minutes on stairmaster and some weight machines, take a cool shower and off to the "beirhouse" on Mejia Ricat I think it was for something other than Presidente. Is it still there? Plenty of chicas at this gym but they were from high end families with money and I never got the vibe they could be had while i worked out there. I lived across the street from Olympic park and it was a good place to go during the day for a PT run if you didn't mind the heat but it was safe from cars. I had the same problem getting fat on the beers too, so I felt your pain...lol.
So I usually like to do about 80% NP and 20% PFP.

Steps from the entrada to Embajador, you can find a row of restaurants. And, a laser/dermatology type clinic. And, a bar full of hookers in spittin' distance. Tabu, it's called, if memory serves.
The hotel bar and pool at Embajador sound great. Do you know of any restaurants in walking distance from the Embajador?
Hotel El Embajador is off of Avenida Sarasota, about one block over from a major north - south street, called Avenida Churchill. Near Avenida Sarasota the street signs for Avenida Churchill will say Ave. Jimenez Moya. From the malecon up to Avenida 27 de Febrero, Avenida Churchill street signs will say Avenida Jimenez Moya. Just about every Dominican I spoke to refers to that section of street as Ave. Churchill, however, so that you don't get confused I mention that the street signs south of Avenida 27 de Febrero for Churchill will say Avenida Jimenez Moya.
Avenida Sarasota near the El Embajador is a nice two way street, two lanes each for moving traffic and there is an island separating the 4 lanes of traffic that is planted with grass and plants. El Emabajador is located on a side street about 2 1/2 blocks from Avenida Sarasota. On Avenida Sarasota there is a 3 foot hotel sign for the hotel, where you have to turn onto the side street that will take you to the entrance of the hotel.
On that side street, that will lead directly to the front of the hotel, there is a restaurant. Seems like a nice, expensive restaurant, I only saw it from the outside.
I believe there is a McDonald's restaurant near the intersection of Sarasota and Churchill (aka Ave Jimenez Moya).
When you exit El Emabajador and take the small side street to Sarasota, you can make a left or a right at Sarasota. If you go right that will take you towards Churchill. If you go left (west) you will see Hotel BQ which is on Sarasota. If you continue on Sarasota in that direction there is a a sushi restaurant on the right hand side of Sarasota, going west. Supposedly it is a good sushi place, I will have to find the name. If you continue to go west on Sarasota, at the end of Sarasota there is a shopping center.
Bella Vista Mall is near to Hotel El Emabajador. I have not been to bella vista mall.
If you are driving a car, driving south of the El Embajador can get a little confusing. There is a park south of the hotel and where the hotel sits the earth is elevated, as such there are not many cross streets that you can take north and south, between the hotel and the Sea.
Plaza Lama has a big store on the corner of Churchill and ave 27 de febrero. Acropolis Mall with Hooters and other bars/restaurants is not too far away from El Embajador Hotel. Plaza Acropolis is on Avenida Churchill north of Avenida 27 de Febrero. (Avenida 27 de Febrero is the major east-west street in the city, 6-8 lane roadway).
You really don't want to be traveling during rush hour. Traffic during rush hour on Avenida Sarasota is bumper to bumper slow.
Street chicas hang out on Ave. Sarasota near the embajador at night and sometimes on the side street in front of the hotel, as well as inside the hotel at night.
As BQ Ribs has stated you will be at least a ten minute taxi ride from Gazcue, where there are more street walkers, casas (305, piano bar, satin, girl's house) as well as Coppa Discoteca, which stays open late every night.
As Knowledge has stated, the El Embajador is a businessman's hotel, so you will encounter older guys who are in Santo Domingo on Business. I met one older American guy at the lobby bar who was in the sugar business, it was interesting talking to him. For his job he has to travel all over Latin America, he was telling me some interesting stories.
Jetset disco will be closer to El Embajador.
Boricua Online has recommended a place called the Hangar which will be closer to the El Embajador Hotel.
The disco/restaurant in a cave, Guacara Taina, will also be closer to the hotel El Embajador.
Take photos and post them here if you can, I enjoy seeing any type of photos, venues or chicas.
Boricua Online's SDQ Monger Map is an excellent source of information: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&ie=UTF8&ll=18.480627,-69.965143&spn=0.009891,0.019248&z=16&msid=106767774275556555984.00046d685b11334063b43&mid=1246199584

The rooftop pool sounds very nice.
Fellas,
I plan on going to SD for about 5 days or so to see a chica, but I want a hotel that is cheap, clean and chica friendly. I also want a place close to the action so I can hit other chicas during the day. Dime.
There is a very good Italian restaurant in southeast corner of the Bella Vista Mall called "Nona Rosa" (grandma Rosa in Italian). Stick to the north side of Sarasota if you plan to walk around that area at night. It's pretty dark once the traffic winds down but you won't have problems if you stay on the side of the high end apartment buildings. Also, don't let the street girls who hand around the McDonalds on Sarasota and Churchill crowd around you. They've been known to jack guys if they get the chance. They are mostly harmless but be advised that they are armed with blades for self defense.

Thanks a lot amigo. That is a lot of great information. Much appreciated.
I will try to repay with fotos. Hopefully they will be of cuties in sexy poses in various states of undress (faces will be covered of course). But I will also post venue pics as you request.
I have heard about a pool party on Sundays at the Napolitano...maybe the scenery will be good ;-)
Yes, Boricua Online's Map is awesome. I have bookmarked it.
Ahh..what is Hanger? Nightclub or restaurant?
80% NP? and, what might they look like.
As I told Jaosousa, I will try my best to get some good chica pics. I actually just posted a video of a non pro Peruvian amiguita. See the post in Lima Photo section for details. This will give some idea of my taste. Of course, I dig the indias and morenas as well ;-)
I will definitely check out Tabu....great.

It is a large open night club, looks like a plane hangar, it has drinks, beer and light food. Frequented by locals and not far from a large cabanas area (motels). It is a good place to meet non pros.

Hotel Riazor is on Avenida Independencia. It is located behind the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino. Next door to hotel riazor is manolos restaurant which is open 24/7.
Near Hotel Riazor is Avenida Pasteur. On Avenida Pasteur are: Girl's House, Satin House, Piano Bar, Mystik Hotel and Villar Hernanos Restaurant.
Near the intersection of Pasteur and Independencia (about 3 blocks from hotel riazor) is bar 305, probably the biggest brothel in santo domingo.
A few photos to give you an idea of what the neighborhood looks like.

I never knew Nona was the word for grandma in Italian, I have an Italian restaurant near where I live with Nona in the name.
Sarasota is dark at night, the street walkers I saw on Avenida Sarasota were on the north side of Sarasota, that side has better lighting.
A SDQ chica invited me to play tennis with her and I offered to buy three new tennis balls. We went into a sporting goods store on El Conde, near calle duarte, we bought the tennis balls and while in there she asked about the different knives they had in a display case. They were mostly folding knives, some with two edges. The knives could easily be carried in a purse or in the pocket of jeans. Good advice about some Dom Rep chicas carrying knives and to be careful.
Also near the El Embajador is the Carol Morgan school, supposedly the best private school in Dom Rep. In the mornings and afternoons, rich parents can be seen near private schools dropping off or picking up their kids, usually in expensive autos.
At the end of Sarasota going west is a La Cadena Supermarket. Usually good prices for alcohol in La Cadena Supermarket. Probably a good place to stock up on stuff, that chicas may want from a hotel room's mini-bar (good tip from Boricua Online to save money), cheaper to buy mini-bar type items at the supermarket in SDQ.

3. Napolitano Hotel
Actually I can give you the scoop on two of the three.
Hotel Palacio:
Great hotel, the blend of ancient decor with modern decor is very unique. Friendly staff, with the owner on site. Pool and gym but I didn't indulge. Price's are 60-80usd per night. Room's are big and classy, with outstanding bathroom. Close to El conde. My favorite so far.
Hotel Mecure:
My first two time's stayed there in 07-08. Sometime's they have internet special's for 44usd. Great buffet for breakfast. Now I hear they charge 15usd for guest's. Room's are small. When I checked in first time they gave me key's to another room. The second time left my stuff in the room and went to sosua for three day's no problem. Nice balcony outside to have a drink and people watch on El Conde. But people seemed to know you were mongering. Late at night trick's linger for action. Okay but now it's played out, haven't heard anyone mention it lately Hmmm?
