Pack your bags. If you have a lot of baggage, go outside and hail a taxi. Tell the taxi-man you want to go to "Pattaya". If you have not much baggage take the Sky Train to Ekamai and take the bus to Pattaya.

Don't stay in Bangkok, brother, it is an awful place and terribly overpriced - as some have pointed out below. In Pattaya you will have far more choice of girls, and generally better quality, for 1/2 the price.

As it turns out, the entire time I will be in Bangkok (my first trip) coincides with the cremation rites for the princess November 14-19. I read on another board that all of the go-go bars will be closed during this time and activities extremely curtailed at most other bars. I am also wondering if MPs will be open and functioning on a normal basis during this period, as I was really looking forward to visiting some soapies and oilies.

Any info from people in the know about what to expect during this period would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking I might blow off Bangkok completely and spend an extra week in the PI.

Being with so many posting does not make a person to be as perfect as it expected. I understand that it is usually the feedback from a handful person for any sudden reqest for infor to "RTFF" but I can still see majority of our brothers to give their most helping hand to either newbies or seniors in this forum. well this should be the main spirit of this forum. I myself did encounters a lot of questions being by some members, but I make it a point that if I can not help them, I just shut my mouth and if I can help them I will just help them. well, it is also very usual for some member here to keep judging or telling something to situationm like this but if it happen to them which I mean if it comesw to a time whereein not enough time to do the searching then tendency you guys will do the same. so in short....it is either you fuck off your big mouth or just shares ideas....as simple as that.

I will throw in my two cents here. My Filipina experience is two long time GFs in HK. They are both housekeepers. Not sure if they love all gweilos or just yours truly. i have been off the radar due to being very busy with new "giks" picked up from rca slim/flix where they are non p4p.

by the way you have seen the other advices coming thru re st and lt prices, do visit nana entertainment plaza tonight which is not far from your hotel where you will have lots of choices or soi cowboy (both places are known to taxi drivers or your hotel concierge will be able to direct you) where st is circa thb1000 to thb1500 and lt between thb2500 to thb4000 depending on your negotiating skills and depending on how much the girl likes you.

bangkok is a lot of fun and take it easy and go walk around and be adventurous. i am a loner and usually go punting alone and bangkok is relatively safe (common sense applies and not those walk up the 2nd floor bars in patpong).

I will be in Bangkok for a night or two next weekend.

This is a good idea, though another would be to go ahead and keep your Bangkok flight and just transfer onward to Phnom Penh. If you haven't been there it is still somewhat fun, though of course a shadow of its former self.

But definitely don't waste your time in Thailand during that period - if they have the nerve to close our fun we should boycott the place.

After plowing through the forums, and other sites, I still don't know what to do, and I am looking for advice.

Since I am only there for a few days, $ isn't the problem, but no-one wants to be a Chump.

I have learned on my travels usually from experience in China where the "quality vs quantity" places are.. I would rather spend a Hund Bucks on a good looking chick that will take care of all my needs and pamper me a bit vs, finding the perfect bargain which can be fun, but more of an adventure and usually full of disappointments on chasing forum posts or getting bad directions/maps...lol.

I am looking for a Good Hotel (150USD or less with Internet in the room) that is "company friendly".

A threesome or some back door action would be nice, but not required.. I would prefer an all-night party, but based on some of the posts it seems that long-stay isn't very promising? And I can say from experience it blows if they are awful.. its like buying a lemon of a car.

So should I stay near Patpong, or Nana? based on the reports leaning towards Nana?

What hotels, and any recommendations to find the services I seek would be greatly appreciated..

here is my suggestion after about six months of se mongering.

hotel- try the landmark, a 5 star rockin hotel. anything downtown, even the grace or nearby should do just fine, and keep you near the event horizon. i never use such grand accomodation, but up2u.

pussy- for quality where cost is not an factor, i would suggest the rainbow 4 in nana entertainment plaza. you can chill for a while and really get a good look at the girls motor. plus these girls are pretty damm hot, and you will not see most any of these babes standing in the nana parking lot! pick a number, pay 600b for barfine, and expect to pay 4000 for overnight. although i have got these girls for 3000, ymmv. mok and modang are great.
most of the rainbow 4 girls will not do anal, try the european chicks up at the novotel disco/siam sq area for that, or beergarten (noe's anal is great).
