I will make a bold statement: I am inclined to think you did not overpay; that the price you paid was in the upper range, but still in the ball park. Why? Because you posted pictures of your girl unlike a lot board members that still maintain the price is $20. From your pictures and knowing firsthand what the real choices are in Phnom Penh, it is clear to me, your girl is in the top tier of Walkabout FL's. I appreciate the fact that Walkabout is not an expensive pick up joint, but you came in, saw probably the sexiest girl in the place, picked her, and ended up having a good session – no muss, no fuss. Sure, if you would have waited until late at night you may have negotiated a deal for $20 if she was still available, but that is a another experience all together. Time is money. Most of the time I hunt from 8pm to 10:30pm and I don't want to wait around until the late night sale or care to fuck a girl that I don't find really attractive. My point is; if you want the best looking girls, on demand, in prime time, then $30 to $40 is what you going to pay unless you are well known and liked or speak the lingo. $20 is still do able, but holding on to the $20 price point is going to be mighty frustrating on any given night and who needs that. Back in 2009, the first time I visited Penh, the prettiest girls would ask $25 or say up to you and I would end up giving them $20 plus a $5 tip if they were really good, but things have changed since then.

I pay $20-25 for long time and have taken better looking girls than the photo he posted.

The going rate for expats is more like $10-15 for ST. So that means he paid 4x the going rate.

Was it really 3 weeks since I drafted this?

1. Reading back on the various posts I was not expecting anything special in my two night stay.

2. Arriving by bus from Siem Reap I ventured out to get a massage. Eventually settled on Islands on Sisowath Quay. Great looking lady took me upstairs to a communal room where two other blokes were already being massaged. She stopped me from dispensing with my why's but the 60 minute massage was great and well worth the $7 and I was happy to give her a $3 tip. 9/10. For the first time ever I started a massage laying on my back.

3. I had a couple of beers but then headed back to the hotel – Lebiz, a new one on 79F street which is Kampuchea Krom Blvd about 500 m the other side of the market from the river.

4. From 9 this morning until getting back at 2. 30 I went first to Tuol Sleng Genoocide Museum and then on to Choeung EK Genocidal Center (about 40 minutes by Tuk Tuk). Not the sort of thing that one can state to have been happy seeing but I am glad I visited the sites.

5. After a shower and a quick google search I set off towards the market to find the Paris hotel which was said to be about 400 m from the market on the same street as my hotel. In fact I had to double back and eventually found the place on the right hand side I would guess about 1 km from the market. On the third floor is the massage 'fish bowl' – no bowl but between 20 and 30 scantily dressed young ladies and my eyes immediately were drawn to No 13. As I point out on the Siem Reap thread – my problem is that I always go for the best looking and almost invariably they are a disappointment. This girl – aged 20 – is perfection; beautiful face, body, backside and legs. I took an hours massage and was led to a room on the 4 th floor (the second floor is a casino I think and regular guests are on floors 5, 6 & 7). She was so perfect in fact that I cannot for the life of me remember what the others looked like although the impression I have is that they were 4/5/6 style. The girl does not speak any English, made me keep my why's on and had limited massage skills which she applied as she watched tv. As in Island the massage started with me on my back. I had a ranging hard-on but she stopped after half an hour and so I signed 30 minutes more. This time on my front and she asked if I wanted boom boom – I badly wanted it and agreed to pay her a horrid price. $50. But no boom boom on floor 4 – she led me up to another room on floor 7. Now comes the sad part of the story – there was no eroticism or anything just me with pure lust for her perfect body and maybe the mornings viewing affected my libido. I lost my hard on, she finished me by hand and Cialis has gone on tomorrow's must buy. Ohhh my! Not to worry – one gets very few opportunities to be so close to perfection. 2/10 sex 10/10 the girl.

6. But I like a good massage and so I ventured down to Sisowath again, had a couple of beers and something to eat then wandered along to see the Sokum Place. Took one hour oil massage and led upstairs where a girl washed my feet and asked me to undress in a curtained off cubicle. She started massaging my back and it quickly became obvious that HE would be offered. Sure enough on the flip she carefully ensured that the towel did not cover everything and when massaging my upper thigh let her hands roam a bit. Result – a bloody good massage, really sensual but great skills and HE. Limited touching allowed. 8/10. And I crossed Cialis off my list!

7. I had a couple more beers and went into a modern bar close to FCC – begins with an M and is on a corner. Lovely looking waitresses. Within 5 minutes one came up and introduced herself saying she was tired and was looking forward to her day off tomorrow. I had to disappoint her and told her I was flying off to Vientiane. I should have arranged to meet her in the morning as the flight doesn't go until 5. 30 pm. Bugger!

8. Just looking around it is clear that there are a lot of women up for grabs even for a 58 year old balding paunchy git like me.

9. Up in the morning and a good walk along the Mekong. A couple of cappuccinos and an hour to spare. Anticipating a drought for the next 5 nights in Vientiane and then a small Thai town, I return to Sokum Place to see if last night was a one-off. Different girl but more direct. Towel taken right away for good back and leg massage and the on the flip straight to the question. Not as good a massage but same outcome. 7/10. Nice place and nice young ladies. Recommended.

It's all relative, $40 may be overpaying in Cambodia, but after 90 days straight in America (something I try to never do) I would gladly fork over a whole lot more than that to ST with her, price is all relative.

But I was eager to get my first taste of Khmer goodness that I ignored my gut instinct and just kept going. I had a good time with the girl and she was my type, so I'm happy to pay the extra for my first Khmer beauty and for the lesson learned.

On a more pertinent issue; we need some clarification, Cowboy: you write that you took your Walkabout girl for ST. In my experience in Cambodia (Phnom Penh & Siem Reap) , ST means as many shags as I can muster (usually 2 or 3, but with a few girls I have gone 4 rounds) , but no overnight. I have never had a runner, so I assumed you had multiple shags too. Is my assumption correct?

Again, my experience in PP during my last trip in February was that cute bar girls that I invited over for a drink either answered my money question with '$40' or "it's up to you". My response to the $40 girls was $20 and a smile. They then countered with either $25 or $30 and I said OK. My response to the "it's up to you girls" was let's go. Later in my hotel room after 2 or 3 hours and 2 or 3 shags, I would give the 'up to you' girls $20 plus a tip of either $5 or $10 which ever was handy. My girls always left happy and always left me satisfied. Was I overpaying giving them $30? I think not. I only took the cutest girls. If a bar did not have any cute girls, I just left. This experience was nearly the same one I had in February 2009 except back then the girls answered my money question with $25 or "it's up to you". We always settled on $20 and I would tip $5 or $10 depending on the girl. No runners, Phnom Penh ST, multiple shags, no overnight. So I saw some inflation in prices from 2009 to 2011, but not enough to give a damn. YMMV.
