I have a quick add-on for the ATM discussion, and I don't mean ass-to-mouth. I like using the ScotiaBank ATM upstairs outside Exito Wow in Poblado. It dispenses up to 900 k. I had my BofA CC blocked, the other day. Meanwhile, my BofA debit worked like a charm. I was trying to pull out 1. 800.000 to have on-hand, just for whatever reason. Who knows. Maybe for a corona test, maybe for 3 chicks, maybe for the portero to pull a chica out of the hot tub. BofA gives me some bullshit lecture about swiping the card, and that because of fraud, etc. , I should try to refrain from swiping it. It's a fucking ATM and my debit card (also from Visa / BofA) just worked 30 seconds earlier. IDK. I reminded them I'm traveling, and just went on with my day. I'll see if there's an issue next time.

Oh, blondie / serpiente might be on SA, based on what Wifey said. I don't know if I've seen her on there.

No need to add them to your friends list at all. Just message with them on facebook messenger if they don't have whatsapp.

It is not very difficult but it is not nearly as effective as it used to be. Facebook mines your e-mail and mobile phone contacts and use them to feed friend "suggestions" to you and all your contacts on any account you access regularly from the same devices. The result is your friends and family will slowly but steadily begin receiving information on their facebook timelines about people and places associated with the so-called burner account. Facebook also sends you friend requests and updates you could mistakenly click when you wrongly assume you are seeing them because you are logged into the burner account. If you pay close attention amd take extra precautions you can avoid undesirable results. Everybody has to decide how useful or valuable the Facebook scene is for themselves.

I'm just curious, I have brought September 1st flight ticket to Medellin from the US, the very first flight out of the country. If the government extends the border closure, does that mean the flight is automatically canceled or will they still fly me to Medellin and then give me a denied entry. I'm wondering if I get to the border custom, what are the chances of negotiating with the border officer at the airport to convince them to let me through, I'm willing to offer something to make it worth their well.

I'm not trolling here, I have bribed custom officers in Kenya and was asked money by officials in Russia and India. In some part of the world, if you missed a few required vaccinations to enter the country, 40-100 dollars will do the trick, what's the bribing culture like in Medellin?

Best be very careful! If policeman solicits a bribe; you have your chance, but if you get told you don't have the right documentation or the right prerequisites and YOU Solicit the bribe. You might get lucky and you might spend a bit of time in a cell. Some policemen are very proud and would no more take a bribe than a priest would make a bargain for his soul.

A couple of hours ago Mayor Quintero imposed a 14 day 24/7 quarantine on Centro that will begin July 13. He justified it by stating Medellin is "approaching the infection peak" and officials have to be careful. Approaching the peak means whatever he wants it to mean since he and other local officials have emergency powers authorized by the President. Quintero went on to say the quarantine will be like the one in March. You can all read my posts for details about what that was like. Along with anything that is not a supermarket or pharmacy all the casas will have to shut down and give employees a two week unpaid vacation. This will kill businesses that were barely holding on. It will be a bonus for the Laureles apartments.

Apparently the mayor of Medellin announced today a lock-down of sorts beginning on July 13 in El Centro for fifteen days, along with other parts of town. Pharmacies, banks, and other essential businesses will be open. So with exception of the pharmacy near the Veracruz Church, I don't know what will happen regarding the Love hotels in the area.

If the "ground zero" area is closed, and the lock down is enforced, it will be slim pickings.

You really should step back and take a bigger look at the picture. If Colombia does open back up on September 1, I highly doubt people from the USA will be allowed in. Right now a USA Passport is pretty much useless for travel around the World. I could go on and on and on, on this one but will stay away from it.

As far as trying to bribe a Colombian immigration official, well you won't be having the opportunity to do so, and the thought of it is very foolish.

You should maybe look into trying to get to San Andreas island.

They used to have a direct flight from Canada, or maybe from Panama or another Central American city.

Then from there do your bribing to get in.

It's Colombian territory, however, they speak primarily english.

From there, if you can get in, it's a domestic hop to Colombia.

Just a thought off the top of my head.

Unfortunately not looking good for September arrival.

[/QUOTE]If you think about it, there is really no good reason to close the border for so long. There are countries that with 0 or very few cases have their borders open to some visitors. The key is to require strict self quarantine for 14 days, and maybe require insurance so visitor do not become a burden to the country. This actually can spawn a whole new industry to help the economy. Quarantine doesn't work well if it is not strictly enforced. I think they are unable to enforce it so they keep adding extension.
