First, while Thailand is worse than it used to be, but the actual experience of paid sex here is still better. In the west, the best case scenario (what some mongers call GFE) is that the girl isn't actively hostile or aloof, and lets you kiss her on the mouth. In Thailand, GFE is a girl who happily stays with you for however long you wish (of course, you pay a bit more, but not that much more for overnight) and actually treats you as nicely as an actual GF ever did. Not as common these days as it used to be, but can still be found (especially in Pattaya, and with girls who are not in top demand). Even though old-time mongers complain about the service, it's still notably better in Thailand then the west, where expectations are ultra-low.
For many mongers, amount of choice is important. I doubt your $130 session in SF comes anywhere close to what you get at Tulip or Snow White at half the price.
