JjBee62 has already discussed the relation between the number of tests and the number of positive detected. The higher number of detected positive in country cannot be ascribed to the higher number of tests. This is difficult to explain to academics, imagine to Trump.
What you say makes really sense, but it needs to be completed. Unfortunately the number of deaths are just an element of the picture. The curve of "deaths" follows with say 2-3 weeks delay the curve of "conclamated sick", which in turn follows the curve of "infected" by other 1-2 weeks. This means that when we count deaths today, in the increasing phase of curves in USA, we are looking at the conclusion of something happened at least 1 month before.
We will be able to discuss the impact of COVID in terms of deaths in USA, as in any other country, only months after the peak.
The destructive impact of this COVID, contrary to any other flue or more contagious disease that we have seen in the last decades, is its capacity to spread silently to a large portion of population, before people starts to be worried because 1) hospitals are getting full 2) the number of deaths is so high that it starts affecting the personal experience of more and more people. At that point, one is noticing the iceberg emerging, but with a delay of weeks. What happens in the next weeks is on the way and cannot be changed. A lockdown is the only effective measure, but its effect appears after several weeks.
There is NO FLUE that could make all hospitals in Houston full (just Houston?), exhaust capacity for patients who need intensive care or simply hospital care, and leave no room for "regular patients". There are towns in my country, which in March were so heavily impacted, that all night and day the only sound was the ambulance siren. Every family had someone sick at home or at hospital, and everyone had some close friend or family member dead. Hospitals were rejecting patients because full. I know some people there, and they are all still shocked and traumatized.
There is another thing that makes this COVID nasty, yet all to discover. Some of those who recover keep lungs and veins damaged. The damage seems not reversible. Imagine one who recovers after the COVID flue, does not need to go to hospital, just few days of fever and cough because young and fit, but keeps his ventilation power lowered. No more jogging as before, and better to avoid high places as Bogota.

One option that may be viable is to fly to Lima, Peru and then travel by land to the Ecuador / Colombia border. Don't know about the bus situation at the moment. Perhaps buy a cheap car or motorcycle. The Ecuador / Colombia border is a bridge. Immigration offices were on either side. My information isn't up to date, but in December, there was a Immigration officer on the bridge that would ask pedestrians for documentation. However, Taxi's and motorcycles were able to cross the bridge to the other side without stopping. The border may be closed, but you can probably cross under the bridge into Colombia.
Spoke to a Venezuelan friend recently, she entered into Cucuta, Colombia from Venezuela last week without any problems and is now in Bogota. They have a "trocha" system over there, where a guide will escort you to the other side. It's risky, as people are sometimes stopped and their belongings searched / robbed. Another girl said there is a small boat that is safer. Anyhow, Venezuelans are still sneaking into Colombia.

Well, you never know the truth with these girls. But her parrots are named Pepe and Pepita and she claims the P P is for them. It could mean many other interesting things also. Someone should ask her to see if her explanation jives with what she told me. But in the long run, who really cares.

Most of these putas are narcissistic / vain. But they are also lack a lot of self-confidence and are actually very fragile when you know them better. It is funny that we talk about 22 as being "older" yet for a girl like her who has been fucking men for money since she was 15, she is "old" in that regard. She is not remarkably pretty. Yet many of the others are not either. Make-up and filters change a lot. For example, Leidy Baron once made the mistake of posting a foto with no make-up and no filter. Wow what a difference.

Impromptu ISG member's meet up today, July 12th, at Botero park / La Vera.
So The Tall Man spent most of this afternoon meeting up with Pollo Negro and another member #3 on this board (did not specifically ask his permission to use member #3 name) at Botero and walked the whole area and shared stories and experiences, all in good fun.
Being a Late Sunday afternoon and early evening there was a deffinate reduced number of chicas in Botero and Vera and other adjoining areas. After a few hours member #3 and myself took a drive to San Diego to check out the street scene then over to Mayorista to see what was out, absolutely nothing out at Mayorista, it was ghost town.
So I got a new side kick with member #3 as he lives about 15 minutes from me and we share the same endless enthusiasm for sweet tasting fresh pussy.

I saw that the Tall Man was going to hang out in Centro so I decided I would call and see if I could tag along. Very good outing, we walked Botero Park and it was my first time there in 2 months. Very good guy to socilaize with and we shared some great techniques about our different styles of approaching girls. We had another gringo with us and my girlfriend's brother, so it was a good way to walk the park and see what was going on for the day.
Just as I had stated in the previous posts the bosses are still in the park and they were much more visible today than I had ever seen before. Maybe because I actually know who they are and know how they function, I was able to point them out to the Tall Man and others who were with us. For those of you who were visiting the park recently, you are absolutely correct about new faces and many of the new faces looking young. I saw a few and asked my girlfriend's brother how old were they and he assured me that the one's that I saw were in the age range of 20-21, to me they looked younger. I was there to socialize and not hunt, so it did not make much of a difference to me.
I really did notice that the park had very limited tourist police and for nearly 40 minute to an hour as me and the Tall Man spoke, It was weird that they did not leave from in front of the Museum the Antioquia. This was very new to me, because if you were up by Tostoa and Premiere Plaza, it would have been extremely easy for a group of Vennie's to rob you and no one would be there to aid you. Pre-quarantine, the entire park was crawling with tourist police so I have on idea why there are so few in the park nowadays.
I also pointed out to the Tall Man, that it was about 2 to 300 chics in the park, but there were probably only 10 clients in the park. So go figure, at what the girls are willing to charge for a date when the competition to find a date is so overwhelming, it is definitely a buyers market right now. No matter how nice the girls look and no matter how many girls were in the park, you saw very limited movement from the girls as in pre-quarantine you would see girls and clients going and coming from the short term hotels.
I did see "Mimi" the female boss and her group of minions and they were steady giving me the eye and everyone who was with us. The other gringo who was with us told us that he had dated Mimi recently as 3 weeks ago and she was sweet with him. So that goes to show you that YMMV? Personally, she will never get a date from me and has never received a date from me and I saw with my own two eyes at how dangerous she can be when she stabbed the other Vennie in the park last year.
We walked over to Park Berrios and just took in the sight seeing as the other gringo had no idea that girls work in that park as well. I personally have never had a date from Park Berrios, but I have had girls to whistle at me when I walk near the area. We scoped out Berrios for about 30 minutes and decided to take another tour of Park Botero and my girlfriend began to call worried that something had happened to me in the park, so I decided that it would be best if I returned home to relieve her stress about me being out of the house for more than 2 hours.
I absolutely enjoyed the socializing with the Tall Man on Sunday and currently the park is still full of girls so who knows how well the girls will behave when everything returns to normal. On Monday, July 13,2020 the strict quarantine is back in effect and I am sure the park will be closed as they were harassing people after 6 pm today. I have no idea about flights scheduled for September and really doubt that Colombia will open its borders to foreigners any time soon, but who knows. Pollo Negro is out!
