I think you have 2 options.

1. I hope you used a secondary number to chat. Just switch off that phone and forget about this. If you used your primary number, its a mistake and this option won't work. You can try blocking the number but they can call from other numbers.

2. If you want to be absolutely sure and not leave to chance (about it being fake) - Do ask the person calling you his name, designation (constable, SI, SHO Etc) and the police station. If they refuse to give all 3, it is clearly a scam, you can go back to option 1 - Real LE will always give you these details. If they indeed give these details without hesitation, you have a choice to go check personally (if the P.S. Is near), or call them on a number publicly available (not the number they gave). If it were genuine and escalated to next level, someone from the police station would have come to pick you up. Not sure but nowadays scammers often use tactics like this to scare and blackmail for money. Be careful.
