May I give a further suggestion: we see again and again questions for current rates and conditions in all the forums. I would help to have in each forum a specific thread in which is exclusively to state current rates and maybe addresses of locations. That would make things much easier than searching through many reports. Just an idea.

Well, all very interesting stuff. I haven't lived in HK for 13 years. In fact the longest I have ever stayed in HK for any one time is 1 month. My usual stay is 7 - 10 days. I have however been to HK around 180 times in the last 20 years. I have been to Mainland China around 100 times during that same period.

Some observations for you to consider...

(1) It is possible to go to numerous areas in HK and find girls in what we refer to as "Walk Up" apartments. For almost an hour of sex and fun, you can expect to pay anything from HK$200 - HK$800 for this service. In most cases you will get change out of HK$500. The girls range from ugly to stunning so there is something for everyone.

(2) It is possible to visit spas and massage parlours in HK and for almost an hour of fun, you can expect to pay up to HK$500 for this service. The girls range from ugly to stunning so there is something for everyone. The quality of the service is typically very good.

(3) It is possible to visit one of several websites such as 141, 148, 161, etc and find further examples of (1) & (2) above, plus what we refer to as Hotel Girls. For almost an hour of sex and fun, you can expect to pay anything from HK$300 - HK$1500 for this service. In most cases you will get change out of HK$1000. The girls range from ugly to stunning so there is something for everyone. The HG gals are usually available for over night stays as well for extra cost.

(4) For Bros based in HK for a long time, or travelling to HK regularly, it possible to visit bars, night spots, the super market and yes... even Burger King... and strike up a relationship with a local gal. Of course these relationships can be free, however they often come with at least some degree of expectation there will be at least some commitment and at least some ongoing level of communication "from home". The occasional email, telephone call, Skype, SMS etc... Many of these relationships are free of money but not necessarily free of cost and hassle. You can also sometimes get the GREAT BIG Hong Kong Gal attitude as well...

(5) It is possible to go to anyone of numerous bars in Wan Chai & TST that are well known WG bars. You can simply walk up to a girl, ask her to join you for "fun" and pay anything from HK$1000 - $2000 for a ST (say 2 hours) vs HK$2000 - $4000 for LT (over night tay).

However, to the exact same girl in the exact same bar, you can relax and get to know each other, have a few drinks (and in most places NOT get ripped off by the cost of lady drinks), have a few laughs, help the girl to feel comfortable with you and your manner. Show the Gal that you didn't just arrive today, you know what goes on... in these cases, if there is just a tiny bit of chemistry (and usually there will be if you are polite and respectful) those same girls can be as low as HK$1,000 for an over night stay with multiple pops.

Now I haven't even mentioned Macau or Shen Zhen, but the point I am making is there are NUMEROUS options, all with their own pros and cons.

However, I grow weary at ANY suggestion that any time you go to Wan Chai or somewhere similar... you are over paying for sex. BULL - Freaking - SH*T.

I have not lived in HK, but I have experience with all the examples above. I have come to conclude that there are things I like and dislike about EVERY SINGLE one. On balance though, I want to have sex in MY HOTEL room. I like that better. That's just me. It feels cleaner and I feel more in control of the situation. I believe there is a value to that.

I want to get to know the gal a little first, I want to chat and see what she is like, get to know her personality, after all... if she annoys me there are plenty of others waiting in the wings. I believe there is a value to knowing I like the gal before I spend any money.

Finally, if I am in the mood for sex TONIGHT... I want it TONIGHT. I dont want any BULL SH*T lets get to know each other over dinner first like you can get with a "freebee" you met at ParkNShop.

So, what this means is simple. I realise, I need to pay more than HK$300 to get exactly what I want AND in the circumstances I want it. I either value what I want sufficiently to pay more for it or I dont.

That is why I DONT stay away from Wan Chai... and that doesn't make me wrong, it is just the best way to get exactly what I want when I want it.

I am the first to acknowledge, other Bros have other priorities, and THAT may make Wan Chai a less attractive option. That is fine.

BTW, my way can have value as well. I have a gorgeous Korean Gal I have known for a few years, I send her an email when I am going to be in HK for while and she comes down and spends the week with me. My last time with her (late last year) cost me HK$7,200 for 10 nights and 16 pops. That was a pre arranged amount of HK$5,000 + food & drinks at various times during the stay. I rated that excellent value (just do the math per pop) and she is a Gal I first met at a well known tourist bar... go figure.

Since the expat population in HK bears a direct relation to the fortunes of the banking industry, it follows that the price model employed in Wanchai roughly correlates with the gyrations of the global securities markets.

It would help first timers avoid overpaying and solve some of the problems we talk about. Perhaps the thread should have a sticky template that outlines how to present the price so there is continuity for easier comparison. Ie. Inc mock example

I have read on this board that things are entirely different in Wanchai for other races in those same clubs.

HK is a weird place; there's a kind of racism at work with the treatment of the Indonesian and Filipino DHs in the city and then there's a reverse racism with the Indonesian and Filipino WGs in the bars.

I've never paid a cover to get in and I know that Asian and Indian men are routinely charged a cover.

And I know that if I like an Indonesian girl from Wanchai, and take her to dinner in public, that I'm gonna get looks from the local Chinese.

Agreed, I normally do too. But sometimes I want a Flipper or Indo, and I don't want the embarrassment or hassle of trying to meet them in a public place in the daytime. The best alternative is Wan Chai. So I do sometimes take the plunge.

Expensive in HK compared to Beijing. Lot's & LOTS of Russian Gals there at around 1/2 the price.

Was in HK over the Chinese New Year and made the rounds of some of the popular bars. Hari's was pretty much dead over the weekend but the band there is a lot of fun and kept the lurkers entertained. Previously, I have seen (him/her) go off hand in hand with some guys you would just never suspect. I don't know if they are "surprised" or how it ends up but it just goes to show. Everyone is different.

If you have to ask these types of questions, stay away from these types of places. Unless you have someone take you to a place they have been to before or are a regular, don't go unless you have more $$$ than sense.

Despite what the $ figure says in the advertisement and it appears you don't read Chinese, you may be out of pocket by $500 - $1000 before you leave the place with a gal and then have to pay for the gal and a hotel room. Some of these places actually charge to the time that a gal sits with you on top of the drinks.
