Manila

I've never been to the Cafe Havana in Malate, but I've gone several times to the one in Greenbelt in Makati. It's a fun place, and it's packed with ladies on the prowl, traveling sometimes in pairs and sometimes alone. I don't like the food much, but the drinks are substantial, the crowd is festive, and it's an altogether fun place to be. Plus, since there are about a dozen restaurants along the row, it's easy to find a better place to eat if food is what you have in mind.

Havana/Greenbelt is right next to the Starbucks, which is also a gathering point for ladies who are looking and you can survey the scene from the outdoor tables in either venue. Anytime from about 8 in the evening till the early hours is probably appropriate.

Malate Havana is in an area that is jam packed on the weekends -- mostly with locals. Lots of eye candy. Havana itself is just an overpriced restaurant. I've gone to the area on dates and to meet chat friends, but I wouldn't expect anything. There are clubs there so anything can happen. You might chat up some smiling young ladies, ask them which restaurant or club is nice and then invite them to join you.

There are some show clubs in the area, but I've never indulged. Mostly because their target market seemed to be east Asian, which usually means overpriced. I remember a while back that one such place was closed down because the local police had deterimined that the ladies standing out front to attract customers were creating a traffic hazard.

As for the little beggers, I solve that problem by throwing a pocketful of pesos in front of a fast moving taxi. (jst kdg)

Traffic is often gridlocked in this area. You could probably walk to LA Cafe in 15/20 minutes, but it would be a hot sweaty walk and not for the faint of heart.

Check out the aging and crumbling Malate church and the night-lit fountain in front of the church. If you get lucky, there will be mass or a wedding...for some cultural experience.

God forbid I'm quoting X, but quite tickled by his solution to the Manila street kids problem. Has to be a step up on the leaden solution of the Rio police.

There seems to be hostess and other bars springing up all over this area which is good news for mongers. I suspect, give it a year or two, a bar scene resembling Ermita of the 80's could well develop. Watch this space.

You will also find a few pimps and moonlighting 'students' FL's hanging out near the mentioned night lit fountain. Probably risky and ill advised but interested to know if anyone have availed of their services.

Have a Manila trip this week. And as always, have done my best to set up a good schedule that will maximise my time for pussy and time for work.

Thursday night will be a delightful young lady (well maybe 30 is not so young but is young compared to me LOL). On last trip she suprised me by giving it up to me after one year of messages/chat etc. Her current messages indicate that shes clearly ready for more this trip. And at 5ft 2, 95 pounds with no kids. Shes ideal.

All this was before I discovered the delights of LA Cafe, and the pleasures to be gained simply by taking an outside table at a cafe in Robinsons Place Mall, smiling at a few girls, and indicating that they should join you at your table.

I suggest you ignore the Beppin San and the other Karaoke bars in Malate. Although a beginner, I quickly found there are much better ways of finding delightful company.

Valid point Sonnie, and worth stressing. There are many expensive looking KTV and hostess bars opening up all over Malate. They look the deal, and mongers might be tempted in by the attractive chicks that congregate outside, thinking that these girls might be available for take out. But most of the time this is not the case, as you found out.

This is the unfortunate truth of this type of local/East Asian style venues which can be found all over town. Girls are available, but usually only to drink with you and as on-site companionship.

Of course if you see something that you fancy, there is nothing to stop you asking for their CP No and following up at a later time. These girls often work incredibly long shifts (7pm - 7am is standard) so you can largely forget about an after work liaison.

I recently described a visit to a similar (but much cheaper) establishment in Binondo. I saw a girl I liked and we got on like a house on fire. I have since met her (she called in a sicky!) and we had a great time;).

So for those with a little more time and patience they can be worthwhile. And can be a lot of fun for an alternative nights entertainment.

They kind of reminded me of the Cebu Clubs like Volvo and Thunderdome where 2-4 women come out for three songs and dance and strip down completely or close doing splits and whatever. These places had quite a few customers in compared to Cebu. I didn't get to inquire what the costs were and what was expected if any after the crazy ass barfine. I remember being told something like 4000 at Volvo and the mamasan said it was for all night and no tip needed, but I was somewhat leary that that probably wasn't the case. Most of the patrons were Japanese and Korean. Anybody have any insight what a price range in these clubs are and expectations? I am curious as there were some pretty hot women on average at these types of clubs. Also, I assume these aren't KTV's so what are they?

I think most ktv In Manila are ripoff most are just bar ,most of the good one are in Quezon city up north and at Makati area ,most Mamasan will qoute you a very high price for barfine because most dumb ass Jap will paid this .

If you been to the big ktv in Guangzhou or Shenzhen area with over 500 girl they are much bigger and better quality and vaule for the money if you go with a large group .

My one anecdotal report from 2006: a taxi driver I knew took me to East Asian Entertainment, at least that's what I think it was called. It's on Roxas close to or maybe just inside Pasay City border. Not remembering how much admission was, but I think it was 400 pesos per hour to sit with a girl and the barfine was 6000 pesos all in for LT. The stage shows were basically some number of girls stripping down to their birthday suits in 2 or 3 songs. I was told there were smaller KTV rooms available for 1500 pesos per hour, but I wasn't clear on whether you could get the girl in there for ST. The girl I picked was a 19 year old stunner who starfished on me in bed that night. My mistake was spending too much time ogling her and not enough establishing chemistry with her. But she was easily the best looking girl I had during that trip. 2 hours with her, throw in the food and drink (not cheap) and I probably spent close to 10,000 pesos that night.

It was a good experience to blow the money once, but I told the driver not to take me back to places like that. If I go to a place like that again, I will do my best to get chemistry with the girl in the first 5 or 10 minutes and send her away if it isn't there. Also I think it's a good idea to go with friends, it's the social thing. Lone wolves are better off trolling the malls and the usual (less expensive) venues discussed here.

Took my first trip to the well known air force one, what a great experience it was. The hotel itself is quite huge, on sucat road, fairly close to the airport and the sucat SM mall. You can't miss it, is has a big airplane logo that says "Air Force One". Upon entrance two bouncers are there to check for any weapons, they directed me to the red carpet on the left, go up the stairs, down the hall and make the second left. This lead me to Flight 168.

Went there around 1pm on a Monday, so they had a promo; 1200 for a room for an hour and half. Went around the corner to the fish bowl, around 20 girls, all 7's or higher IMHO. When you look into the fish bowl you can see tint on most of the window with strips of non-tint. I guess they can see only the eyes of you, while you can see all of them. I like to get close up to the window to see all of their bodies, I don't want any surprises later on.

After picking my girl, stage name was Paula #45 (i think that's her number). Cute little spinner, 5'4, 43 kilos, small b cups, very fair and light complexion. Visited those places with Brown Rail.

Well in 2009, those large KTV joints on Roxas are 8000p, many with fishbowls. Many girls were average to above average. Only saw one marginal stunner.

Then around the corner were a lot of low rent budget ones the locals use, I think we were quoted something like VIP room (sex) and drink for 680p all up. One of them did not look half bad, the others ranged from terrible to marginal.

I am between travels and planning to stay in Manila (first time) for 1 night next week. Not sure yet which hotel but thinking of having escort to my room. I know I should RTFF, but during travel on my blackberry not the best way. I see a lot of posts on LA cafe, which is I think not something for me if I am there only 1 night.
