DR lived up to exactly what I expected .
Great beaches , cheap prices, colorful scenery I was satisfied with my new experience.

As for the women they were pretty much what I thought they would be , some lookers , yeah I saw the slim ones with big boobs , but I drive a city bus , I see that all day .

I glad I got to get out of the tourist area and sit around and BS with the locals, yeah I missed about 75% of the conversations but my spanish lessons worked wonders and just to see the slow flow and the comings and goings of the nieghborhood was worth the trip.

The idea of having sex with women twice as young as me has is just not a big thing anymore , I guess I saw this coming years ago, but it really dawned on me as I was watching TV in my apartment with this 20 year old and were cuddling on the couch , she was not a service girl, just a local gal I met with her mother and brother .

Expectations of the individual changes as they move into different stages of their life. Parts of the game are no longer interesting and that which was important no longer is, others are. It is easy for me to see how others might want to fall off from frequent Brazil or Thailand trips. Too much of the same pattern will take the interest out of anything.

That's really putting them all into one big catagory .

She was living in San Juan with her family, the mom and brother with his wife, were vsiting family outside of Sousa, where I went to their homes and had dinner.

The family was here for about 3 weeks , while the dad stayed behind and worked , I also briefly talked with him by phone.

One does not have to travel to a foreign country to get scammed , and no I'm not being naive , girls in the states half my age will date me. And of course their going to hit you up for money , what women doesn't eventually.

This has happened in Thailand, Brazil, Colombia as well as the states, God a coworker introduced me to his daughter who was 19 years younger then me .

Yeah scams exist everywhere , and what better place then in good old USA but , give some people a little credit . Was she a puta ?? Didn't act that way too much , never asked for money and was happy , just watching TV and eating left overs I warmed up.

Her family sure , set up daughter with older guy with money, we live off him , this works anywhere in the world.

This is so common, and believe me, I know from experience. Unless you are truly Dominican, you WILL NEVER know the real story, but to do what you did, take it for what is was, and enjoy it is NO CRIME and nothing to be berated about. Glad you had a good time, this is what we all go for and it was a fair trade, but as many have said, I'd seriously doubt ANYTHING that may have been said to you about or from the family.

90% of the chicas that Gringos(Tourists) associate with are Putas, plain and simple. Meeting a girl in Santiago is totally different from meeting a girl in Sosua. I hate to put them in one category but chicas in Tourist areas chatting up tourists are generally putas or part time putas.

The "references" part is not resume, lol. It's when you are introduced by an upstanding individual in that community who will vouch for you, hence your reference. There are some real stunners in Sosua, but since Sosua is a notorious hell hole, its difficult meeting them.

Everybody gets scammed, I can't count how many times I was overcharged, ripped off, slow played & police shakedowns in this godforsaken country. But I still love them even with all their faults.

Sounds like you had a good time and caught the scam early, because Dominican gratitude only lasts until they need more money from you.
