She was great, unfortunately met her the day before I flew home and I never found her again (isn't that how it always works out).

I'm in AC now but heading to Pattaya Monday for a month. If any of you Africa experts are around. Would love to pick your brain about Mtwapa and Kampala. I go by the same board name on the Pattaya and AC forums.

If you see a girl then say Hi, take her for a drink and the odds are in your favour hugely you will fuck her. As for the drug thing, it is very very rare but has happened that they put something in your drink when in your room, like I state it is very very rare. If your in clubs it is more likely you will be hunted.

Just don't let your Tusker unattended. Drink spiking does exist. Don't get obsessed worrying about security. In Africa there is only freelancers. No touts no mamasans no barfines. Every to his own. As for the drug thing, of course I won't leave my beer unattended, in fact I don't think I'll drink anything other than beer and hold it in my hand at all times with my thumb covering the opening. Won't carry any cards while I'm out clubbing just enough cash, keep my valuables in an aluminium case secured in the room as Ned suggested, etc etc. Then again things may not be as bad so I'll just evaluate when I'm there. Now the question about the handshake was just to confirm if it was bullshit which thanks to you and Mombie I did and it became obvious this friend of mine just want to tag along and make it more interesting for me to take her as she offer security or maybe she has other objectives, who knows. I walked down the entire length of Mombasa beach and the main busy area of Jomo Kenyatta Beach today (Sunday), didn't see one girl on Mombasa, there was hardly any people never mind girls to be fair. And Jomo seemed mainly family and friends the usual style but not so much regards to nice girls or even any girls apart from 5 year old kids playing around, lots of guys though if that's anybody's thing. No massages to be seen.

I am not complaining, was just surprised because I had heard so much and not a big drinker more into meeting girls in other ways so headed to the beach. It was between 2-4 pm.

Curious on others opinions.

Are the girls looking for guys and massage girls in a different area now or was this just an unlucky day or bad time of the day or something else?

Would love to know.

Another good alternative can be the Jambo Travellers Hotel, not far from the main road, quite safe day & night. You have to negotiate the price if you stay for a longer time.
