In LA Cafe you find generally low end chicks (generally diseased, smelly pussies). In no way can it be compared to say "Help" in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.

The website you found is for utter suckers, such prices are grotesquely and absurdly overpriced (for the local market). For that price you can get 2-4 other girls who look BETTER.

If I were you I'd get a taxi and a 10-30 minute ride - whether you're in Manila or Makati - go only to the EDSA Complex. Some taxi drivers may feign that they do not know where that is, ok then get another guy. Do NOT let them say oh, it's closed, they don't know where it is etc etc so thatq then they'll try to take you elsewhere. Just only take a driver where he confirms he knows where the EDSA Complex is (most all do...).

All that you need chick wise (after say 8pm) you can find in the Edsa Complex which has about 6 take-out gogo bars, the best one in my opinion is named Bullets - if you like deep throat ask for Eunice (small girl with good throat muscles and fun also)... She likes other girls, so while you're at it take another 1 or 2, what the heck.

Going to other places for a short time stay, well, you're wasting your time.

A friend (Brit) of mine arrived in Manila Dec 29 and called me and asked me where to go. Of course I said EDSA. If you are traveling alone, EDSA is a great place to hang out and hopefully not get scammed.

Brit went to EDSA and had a great time, but he likes to drink too much and was talked in to taking two girls. He didn't remember the next day what happened in the room except that one girl didn't want to play and left. The next day after he left Manila for Mindanao he noticed his favorite soccer jersey and tennis shoes were missing. He had the number of the girl who stayed and when he texted her, she replied that he had given them to the girl that left. He claims that he knew that he didn't give them away, but told me that he had way to much to drink.

I have lived here for almost two years and I have never had a problem, but you never know what can happen. Be safe.

SO, what are the average prices for take-out per girl at the EDSA complex?

Also went to EDSA twice during this trip. Cannot remember the exact names of each bar, but the place directly in front as you enter quoted me P1200. All the others colluded at P1400. And would not budge. I calmly and meticulously explained my case (that I had been many times before, that I lived in MNL [not true], that I come here all the time, etc.). No effect, they would not budge on the price, so I suspect this is the new BF price.

For my taste, I thought the average girl here was ok, but about 5% were hot. I can only handle one at a time, so this works out just fine. Also, as it turns out, most of the girls don't work every day. I saw 2 girls that needed my attention, so I took one the first night; but asked the mama to reserve the other girl for the next night. Unfortunately, she didn't show up the next night (at least that was what I was told).

Or - you should have in mind that it is the at the crossroads of Roxas Boulevard and EDSA.

I have read in ISG of a guy asking for EDSA, and was taken far away up the road to the other end - away from Roxas.

I have had a few taxi drivers say they don't know where EDSA is, so then I said "Firehouse" and they knew right away, so I don't think they were faking. If they did not know either EDSA or FH, then I would say "Heritage Hotel". If they don't they any of the 3, then time to get out of the taxi (don't pay anything) and find another one.

At the time, the meter from Malate to EDSA was 90 pesos. Probably higher now, but they initially ask for 300. I usually tip about 20-30 pesos and most are happy, esp. the older guys.

It is much harder trying to get back to Malate after you leave EDSA with a girl. Then all the touts want to open a taxi door for you and expect a tip!! Much easier to walk around the corner or down the street and hail your own ride. Again, they will ask for a few hundred, no meter, to take you back to Malate (or wherever). Up to you to negotiate..don't forget, you have the girl there also.

Thinking massage parlors during the day might be a fun way to pass the time until the night life heats up. Any other suggestions of "interesting" activies during the day would be appreciated as well.

Sounds right to get out of that cab. EDSA entertainment complex, firehouse, across street from Heritage, across street from Copacabana, across street from PAGCOR Manila Casino, etc. If they can't get that, they shouldn't be cab drivers. Or at least fake it better. On the other hand, some think you don't know the actual streets and try to take local road and not Roxas overpass (from Malate). That would add another 20-30 pesos (but more importantly, 10-30 minutes). Never tip those bastards.

From Malate, depending on your starting point, should be under P100, even with a little traffic. Most of the time, unless they are extremely friendly or helpful, you do not need to tip. Just different from the western world. This is changing due to all the foreigners tipping, though.

Phoenix One at Roman Hotel and Palacio Don Pedro are pretty good are located in Makati. Also Air Force One is very close to the airport.

EDSA is the name of the street. If you just say EDSA the taxi driver maybe confused. Need to say EDSA entertainment complex or EDSA girlie bars. Then the taxi guy will understand right away. Best is to say opposite Heritage hotel.
Many taxi drivers are from outside Manila and they do not know everything.
Many do not understand english very well. Usually they do talk to the dispatcher or let you talk to them so that they can tell the driver where to go in tagalog.

Did any of you guys in Manila get to the Santo Nino Fiesta Parade held the Roxas Boulevard/Baywalk area yesterday. A great day out with thousands of happy, smiling Filipino's enjoying the great weather (back to cool and breezy after a few hot days). Similar to Mardi Gras and the Rio Festival but obviously much smaller and without the topless dancers and other erotic content! For those who missed it, here are a few snaps I took. I particularly liked the Ati-Atihan contingent with their pounding, almost African beat drummers. They stirred the heart. Did anyone get to the Ati-Atihan Festival in Kalibo this year? That is really something.
