I went to the street by Chalong pier. There are a handful of beer bars there. There were not as many women there as last fall. And there weren't a lot there then. If you find a pussy and it is raining you can shack up at some really nice resorts around the James Bond islands 2-3 hours away. There is also rock climbing.

If you like scuba, there are great dives or live on board dives further north. Tour desk and dive shops can set up for you. You can also do Phi Phi for dives and snorkeling and cave kyaking although there was talk about shutting parts of it down to save the ecology. I would suggest overnight as it is a long trip.

If you just want pussy, go to Pattaya or Bangkok.

I already have a Phi phi island trip and Scuba diving booked from our original itinerary, so I'll still be going on those day trips.

Our original plan was 1 day of activities and one day free plan (I'll be there for 8 days so I do have some things lined up).

My hotel is right on the beach on Patong just a few blocks down from Bangla road. (Does anyone know if the Royal Palm Beachfront is girl friendly).

Mostly looking to get some night action and maybe if I'm lazy to go out exploring on the days I have nothing planned.

Now that my now ex bailed, I'm guessing I'll be able to really experienced what Thailand is second famous for, been reading this thread and other blogs on how the beer bar / go go bar process works.

I'll be traveling with a coworker and his GF but they're staying at a different hotel, so I won't be alone but I'll still have enough privacy to get around.

This means there is no extra fee as long as you have booked a double. Be advised that she will have to check in at the front desk with ID. Do not be scared by this. This is standard procedure and no big deal. I presume they check their age. Seriously this happens all the time at the hotels. Nothing to worry about.

It is so "usual" that when I initially checked in at the RMar (great BTW) they give you a card that says "Overnight guests not originally registered are not entitled to the free breakfast" LOL.

I think I may be taking some of this to an extreme but hey you only live once and this may be my only single trip to Thailand.

But I've done just about every research there possibly is, I've hit up the Thaifriendly website, making a list of what bars are most recommended.
