Did generalized lockdowns work in Colombia? Nope. Did banning international travel work? No. Did closing down the schools work? Of course not.

In fact, if you look at the effects, they were all harmful to the economy and closing down schools may have inhibited the March to herd immunity though I am not sure that is all important as it is made out to be.

Some have said that Colombia should open up when the number of cases is going down. The problem is the USA tried that approach based on European and Asian experiences, and the number of cases did not go down like in Europe or Asia but exploded.

The notion that Colombia and Peru were non compliant with the generalized quarantines was laughable. One of my chicas showed me her drive home in Bogota, and I saw the same thing in Lima, the usually crazy crowded roads were empty.

Now let's cover the rest. 90% of mongers, judging by the guys who don't use Facebook, aren't getting those requests. They are telling me they will not visit any time soon (they usually go back for the Holidays). They say that their families in Bogota and Medellin are telling them that people are desperate and the streets are more dangerous than they've been in recent memory. My chicas have pretty much been quarantined indoors, so my guess is your relatives were getting that information from the media.

I imagine it depends on which barrio. In Medellin, I used to go to Aranjuez and Manrique for night life. I would not do that now. I used to go see chicas I know in San Javier and in Popular. I would not do that now. I would walk on the street less. And not at night. In Bogota, I would never go to centro or the South, even before the virus. I would stay far north. My ex-wife's family say it would be OK with coming to their barrio. They are more concerned with COVID than with crime.

Generally, the higher floor units have better furniture and amenities, including soundproof windows etc.

They are chica friendly and keep a copy of the cedula. For Colombians they require a cedula and check it against the national police database. For non Colombians, they only accept passports. So venies are a no go, unless they have a passport. They even check ID for male visitors. No limit on the number of visitors etc. They ask for payment in USD or you can convert and pay in COP at current exchange rate. They always quote price in USD. It's a residential building, and regular families live there, so keeping a low profile in the public areas is prudent.

Non Colombians need a passport. No exceptions. Generally rules out most venues.

No limit on the number of visitors per day or at a time. Like 2-4 guests at a time, or 2-4 per day. Not sure you can do 20 though.
