Best experiences have been at the Golden Tulip. It's a bit of an Easter Egg hunt- can't count on finding someone fun every time.

These days I prefer to stay in Osu, close to Firefly etc. I'm less likely to meet someone at the hotel, but it's convenient to go out. I've never had anyone at any hotel say a word about me bringing home a lady friend.

I was in Accra for three days and honestly didn't know what to expect. Let me tell you it was gold.

I won't make it too long as there is plenty of choice but the way I found ladies was Badoo and Tinder.

I will be in Accra from 16th May to end of the month (with a short trip in-between to Benin and Togo. Safe enough? I speak no French, will travel by bus and get Visa at the border) - anyone around to meet up? I have got a pipeline going via Tinder (although not had the time to start conversations).

So I have been in Accra a few days and wanted to jot down a few points to help others.

- I am staying just off Oxford street in what seems like a big family home complex. I am paying about £25/ night for double bed, own toilet, fan, a / see, tv, breakfast. All very very basic. Due to it being a family complex I have been a bit careful bringing girls back. Luckily it was all ST.

- Wednesday night I went to firefly and hot gossip. I enjoyed firefly and it was quite busy (closed on Thursday). Thursday I went back to hot gossip (it's open 7 days) - it was pumping. I also tried to go to Loft 7 but looks like only open on Fri / Sat. Generally, Oxford street and surrounds were dead on Thursday. Friday I kicked off around midnight to movenpick (good quality older crowd, 90% men, great music and ambience) then 1:30 am I moved to twist - 50 ghc cover charge (all others were free entry so far including hot gossip). It was quiet dead, but then picked up including 3-5 hot women. Again 90% men. I stayed till about 3 am and moved to firefly. Again free entry but quite dead and boring. Went to hot gossip and had to pay 20 ghc to get in. I think the bouncer has taken a social liking to me as I won't tip him so he made sure I paid.

- tonight plan is carbon and loft 7.

-so far I have found the city extremely safe, the people one of the most friendliest and helpful, and the women very beautiful. I have hardly seen any Caucasians around. There were two young guys well dressed in twist and they did not get anywhere. I myself tried with a girl in firefly and was politely kept hanging on. I don't think any of these venues are good for picking up, except hot gossip. Which is basically a bar with a pole for pole dancing on the middle. Including private dances. The dancers are amazingly athletic. Almost combining yoga and pole dancing. I tipped them just to acknowledge their great work.

- I have gone for short time sessions so far. Some I met on the streets (100 ghc), another few I met as random walk-in girls into Hot gossip. One of them was Nigerian and young and new to the game. She was sweet. Started at 300 via a negotiator and then agreed on 100. I met another really really hot one (28. Perfect age for me) who quoted 300 but agreed at 150. It was 4 am and I couldn't be bothered haggling her down to 100. She was just amazing and wanted to stay but due to my room being in a family complex I had to ask her to leave. Not a bad thing. Could have married her!!

- there are places (near the togolese embassy where one can find 100's of girls. Ranging from 30-150 ghc. I will try and check that out tonight.

- unlike other west Africa countries I have been to (E. G Gambia) people don't hassle you at all. They will try it on you once but if you say no then they will leave you alone immediately. Again, I have hardly seen any western tourists. I guess there are people here on diplomatic and NGO work.

After 4 days of partying and fuckin, I was not 100% energetic. But it's Saturday night so forced myself to go out.

Ended up in plot 7. It looked the part. Busy road, car park is full, 50 ghc entry. Plot 7 more of a mixed crowd. I would say 60/40 male to female ratio. Young crowd. Lots of Caucasians compared to twist. I didn't see anyone hook up. There might have been some pros but why would you go with them. Attitude and probably 300 ghc. Personally, would get the street girls for 100 ghc x 3. No attitude.

Anyway, left plot 7 and went to hit gossip. Again the bouncer gave me a hard time, he literally bolted into the club to make sure he blocks me. I wanted to be insolent so just balked at the 20 ghc entry fee and walked away to show that I have options, he doesn't. Walked to firefly. It was 3 am. Totally dead and almost closed: however met tall big Nigerian girl who was into me and we exchanged details cause I don't think I could have done her right tonight. I just wanted a quickie and she was a BIG girl of 5'9 + heels. (I am 6'4 and built like the rock).

The streets were no better. Ugly girls on Oxford street and asking for 200-250 ghc. I couldn't be bothered to bargain with them as I just wasn't motivated.

So in summary: best party place I went to: twist; best place to meet women: hot gossip.

No sex tonight: some girl kept calling me during Saturday but I can't be bothered with that. I am fire and forget and have learned that the longer you spend with a pro the more they fantasize about how they can squeeze more money out of you. So best to just get a new one every day. Don't think like a westerner.

Ghana or Gambia? Gambia. The way I remember it from when I went there.

Please stay away from Airtel, I have never experienced a worse telecom provider. Friday night suddenly my mobile data would not work. I had to top-up again (even though I still had almost 1 gb of data allowance). I went to the Airtel shop in Oxford street mall. With only two peeps in front of me, I had to wait a long time. The Airtel person said everything was fine with my credit, etc and it should have all worked. I walked away with no new info.

Come Saturday night. Nothing worked! Not even normal phone or sms. I had big plans with peeps I had met, uber, etc. And I AM totally stuck! Again I have to walk into store on Oxford street and hope they are open on Sunday. This is ridiculous. My night is completely ruined.

Stay away from airtel. Mtn or vodafone can't be worse and they seem to have their own infrastructure so go with them. Mtn seems the most popular.

I plan to come to Ghana in September first time, so it will be nice to hang out with member from this forum. Just let me know.

I use Vodafone. The daily specials (if you dial *530) can be very interesting. If you download their mobile up, they give you -at this moment in time- 1 gb for free. AirtelTigo is my 2nd choice with 2nd phone. You can buy a smartphone around 150 cedis from the circle. A double simmed one. Nothing great but will do the trick.

Finally if you have a 2nd sim (on the same phone or not) now you can install 2 whatsapp apps on a single smart phone. The normal whatsapp and the business one. Give one to normal women and the other to pros or girls you want to avoid. So you know who is calling you / texting you.

If you stay long time, Busy internet can be a good option. Also Tigo used to have a 3 ple data the 1st 3 months that you buy a new sim from them. I did it and I used to get a new simcard every 3 months.

Finally if you are hotspotting, set your hotspot for 1 user (or as many as you need to) a lot of Ghanaians have apps that can connect to your wifi / hotspot by 'unclocking'/ breaking your hotspot password.

I hope that the later was not the case with you. Very common here in Accra (at least).
