Yep. $7 down the drain. One minute I'm feeling great about my negotiation skills, the next I'm the biggest dope in Asia.
Happen to me only once at Hun Sen Park. A few years ago. What I did was tell the Pimp & girl I will not pay until we get to my hotel. I rode with the motorbike taxi, the girl rode with her Pimp.
Went to the entrance of the California hotel. (The old location). I was asked to pay the $10. 00. I did and the girl ran to the motorbike with her Pimp.
The success I had at Hun Sen Park is to approach a girl who is working solo.
Or approach a group of girls who are with a mamasan not a male pimp.
If you are going to get a girl with a male pimp negotiating, insist no payment until the deed is done in the room.
Tom.
Well, I'm glad to see that people actually were paying attention to my posts! I'd like to make a few comments about the park between 106th and 108th Street. Yes, I can definitely agree that this kind of place isn't for beginners. I admit that I have no experience mongering in Phnom Penh, but I do have a lot of experience mongering in China, so I know how these things work. And trust me, it is way harder to monger in China than Cambodia.
That particular park I mentioned isn't for beginners, but I have to admit that it wouldn't be too hard for a beginner to try it out. The mama-san I was talking to spoke really good English, and all the girls were easy to approach. It wasn't hard at all to negotiate what I wanted. I guess that park would be a little intimidating for beginners, but not necessarily difficult for beginners.
The park does look kind of seedy, and there were lots of shadowy-looking people lurking around, but I did go alone, and I didn't run into any trouble. Just monger there at your own risk, but be alert at all times. I only went to that park one time, and there was a pack of four freelancers, two of which looked pretty young and fuckable, and two others that looked like they were in their early forties and not very fuckable.
And yes, the motorcycle ride from that park to 51st Street would be far if you were walking, but it's only like 2 minutes by motorcycle. Phnom Penh isn't a very big city, and you can easily drive from one end of the Riverfront to the other in only a few minutes.
And while we're talking about Hun Sen Park, I went there three times around 9 PM looking for freelancers, and not one time did I see anyone that even slightly resembled a freelancer. All I saw was a bunch of families and couples sitting around doing nothing.
Hi there. Thanks a lot for all the details and advices. Could you explain to a french foreigner how to come to this park? What is the name of this park, which are the closests streets to this park? Have a nice day and have nice experiences in Cambodia. If I can add a foot note notice I had wonderful time with semi pro Chinese ladies in Paris. Herve
Hi there. Thanks a lot for all the details and advices. Could you explain to a french foreigner how to come to this park? Herve
He did say it's the park between streets 106 and 108, so those are easy to find on the map, toward the north side of town just off the river. He didn't say at which part of the park this was, though, but as you can see it's not very big.
The park has no name I know of but starts at street 13 and continues up to Norodom and then up past street 51. If you think the park is seedy now, a few years ago it was just grass and no lighting. You could have forgotten the hotel and just humped away in the middle of it and nobody would have been the wiser. If you pay more than $5 for any of these girls you are being robbed.
The girls tend to hang out on the 106 side of the park just before and after you cross Norodom. As is the practice these days, the police sweep the area every so often and things go very quiet for a while before returning to normal. Never pay upfront and watch your pockets carefully, and make sure you are actually taking a girl, it is a well known ladyboy hangout.
Much better areas to be had for the same money in other areas but you need to know where and have a moto to get to them. Really cute girls with good attitudes for. $5.
As to the post on Walkabout. WA has mainly turned into an afternoon venue. The addition of Golden Sorya mall and Pontoon disco has made WA a bit redundant. Lots of good food. Never eat at WA. Overpriced rubbish. And lots of girls walking up and down street 51. And nice newer hotels within a 5 min walk for $15.
Happy hunting!
Guys who claim that they got the girl's consent to post their faces on the internet—outing them to the whole world including law enforcement as people engaged in illegal activity—neglect the fact that these girls usually know only a tiny amount of English but will pretend to understand you to avoid losing face.
That "consent" you think you got is just a girl who doesn't understand what you are saying and is trying to be nice and agreeable and to appear intelligent. This is obvious because no girl engaged in this work in SE Asia would want to be exposed on the internet, unless she's mentally retarded or just plain nuts. These are unsophisticated girls from repressive, unsophisticated societies.
I'm sure that they hope for a better future not doing this kind of work, and these pics that you post will be on the net forever and come back to haunt these girls later when a fiance or future employer discovers them. Do you really enjoy wrecking a girl's life and future this way?
Maybe the girls don't mind posing for the camera because digital cameras are fascinating to them and they love to see themselves on the LCD screen. But they have no idea that you are going to expose these pics to the whole world, or anyone who visits this forum. And you think NGOs and police don't monitor this forum? I'm sure that they do.
Posting these pics on the net without disguising the girls' faces is behavior that I just don't understand. It makes me wish I lived in a different era. And the tortured reasoning you guys use to try to prove that there's nothing unethical about it! To betray someone you made love to in this manner, even if it was PFP, is just transparently wrong, immoral, and a symptom of deep sickness in our society. I urge Jackson to amend his policy to require that the faces be disguised, especially in countries where this activity is illegal.
Posting these undisguised pics is also counter-productive, because as the word eventually spreads among the girls (and that will take a long time because these girls are not generally internet users) , it will result in them refusing all photos, including ones that nice guys want for their memories only.
Wendella is obviously a thoughtful, considerate gent who values the girls as human beings, and I wish that more on this forum were like him.

You are one of those who thinks he is better than others, the same guy that thinks "at least when she is with me she is happy". Well mate you would be surprised, although they'd like a husband most girls prefer the customer who takes photos, has fun and knows his way around than the one feels sorry for them and demands a GFE.

IMO, a posted photo taken years ago disappears in the abyss of the net.
There is nothing on this site that can get the girl in trouble; rather, it is the monger that takes a minor risk in making pornos in Cambodia (which is illegal).
In Thailand, I did read about ONE incident in which the parents found about her daughter when neighbors found her photos on the net. In Cambodia, generally, it's obvious when the girl builds a house for her parents.

Observations in Phnom Penh the last couple of nights.
1) Candy bar moved to the corner; better decor; has an upstairs balconey with pool table.
2) Observed some cuties on St 136, maybe 7 or 8, on my personal scale.
3) Irritating that some bars employ ladyboys (I know some people like them, but this is a fricking hetersexual street). Didn't see any in the Candy bar on that one night I was there; I hope they don't have those ladyboys dance on the tables like they did in the last location. But I was in 69; they had one that was hard to tell; I was 90% sure; I ignored it; after it left, the girl next to me confirmed that it was a ladyboy. There aren't too many around, but a few are around. The few that around seems to be well made up; not like the obvious ones that were at Candy bar the last few years.
4) Some of the cuties (and also some ugly ones) on St 136 want $50; not sure how much you can negotiate down to.
5) The cuter girls (well, I should say the girls that aren't ugly, although there's couple of decent ones) at Le Crycee are asking for $25 tip, but most will say yes to $20.
In Naga, the security guard will ask to see some money in the girl's purse if she isn't dress properly.
So to make sure she can pay him some tea-money when she goes out again?

Bars employing ladyboys!
I have not seen even one before. Cambodia is not known for open gay people like Thailand.
If the bars employ them it is a bad thing for us because maybe after a few drinks we might barfine without knowing and get angry.
So I guess we need to check before barfining.
Hey Wendella, you have a new secret admirer! Too bad we can't be all like you! LOL!
Well in a way I admire the way you own up to the fact that you don't have a shred of decency in you, even seem proud of it.
Some of us do still have jobs, families and other connections to reality, which might also include some sense of what's right and wrong (rather than just fulfilling our own desires and seeing what we can get away with). If that makes no sense to you, well. Then you're obviously not one of us.
The idea that nothing can happen if pictures are posted here is wrong. This site is on the internet. These pics can be copied by anyone and put anywhere. There's no way to stop that once the pictures go up. Probably going to? Of course not, but history is full of things that happened that were supposedly probably not going to happen.
But hey, if you feel safe about it, PM me your photo naked and I'll put it up in the Gallery and we'll test it out.

Well mate you would be surprised, although they'd like a husband most girls prefer the customer who takes photos, has fun and knows his way around than the one feels sorry for them and demands a GFE.
In a way I actually agree with you. The irony you find in our quibbling about what's right and wrong; I guess you mean that we're over here taking advantage of the situation, in a way that's not exactly the way of Jesus. Yeah, true. So my main point way back when was: "come on face it, every one of us is doing stuff here that's not exactly getting us into heaven, so let's be real and acknowledge the fact." When you talk about lecturing, you know this all got started because some guy came on and was doing exactly that, only his lecture was about how it's completely ethical to post the girls' photos without their consent. You said I'm not a gent. I'd say in terms of what every guy is up to on this website, if partaking of these things makes us not gents, then yeah I'd say that's fair. Regardless, to me it seems pretty uncool to post pics of a girl on the net that show her face when thats not what she agreed to, so I don't do that. And I'm no angel: if some post with a photo that seems interesting, I might go look at just that kind of picture. I never said any of this makes me better than others. For all I know Greenbud or whoever are overall much better people than me, giving money to the poor and helping disabled people or whatever, who knows. Nobody was talking about being a good person, that I saw. I think it would take a lot more than posting pictures on the net to make someone a bad person. But what I responded to was the guy who said it's GOOD to do that. Even you must agree that that's ridiculous.
Greenbud, sorry that last post was a bit much on my part, my apology. For all I know you have plenty of shreds of decency. [wink] You said no harm can come to any girl whose pictures get posted. Not really. If a girl is in the business secretly (her family doesn't know), and especially if she's a gray area girl just getting in and out fast for some quick needed money (maybe has a day job but needs some money fast, or lost her day job, relative needing hospital care, etc), and especially if she has kids or a traditional family, it's easy to see how pictures being seen publicly or in her community could be incredibly damaging, hurting not just her but totally innocent people like her kids and her parents. Imagine going to school when your mom has just been outed as a prostitute. Can it happen? Of course it can. Khmer newspapers wouldn't hesitate. Cambodian touts come on here regularly, some of them are pretty shady characters. It wouldn't surprise me at all if one of those guys put 2 and 2 together and made a side business out of it.
1) Couple of cute girls at Martinis wanted $30 for short time. One (who was one of the cutest I've seen there) said short time would be 30 minutes (WTF! I've never heard that before in Asia; I passed). The other countered with $30 when I offered $20; she said short time would be 1 hour. I hesitated, then another monger swooped her up fast. It seems that upward pricing pressures is continuing, especially for the cute girls since they will always get the punter who is willing to pay a few extra bucks.
2) Some girls will not do BJs at Martinis.
3) Some girls will do BJs at Martinis, but will refuse to do a lot of it.
3) Irritating that some bars employ ladyboys.
But I was in 69; they had one that was hard to tell;
Oops; the bar in which the ladyboy was at wasn't 69; it was some other bar.
If the bars employ them it is a bad thing for us because maybe after a few drinks we might barfine without knowing and get angry.
What I think is funny is when they kiss the ladyboys in the bar. I always wonder if the LB tells the guy before he barfines her since he definitely will find out in the room. In Cambodia, the poor has less protection than in Thailand. But then I'm assuming the guy knows since some guys like that kind of stuff; to each his own.
So to make sure she can pay him some tea-money when she goes out again?
To make sure that she has enough money to gamble with. Most poor Cambodians are not going to have a hundred dollars in their purse; this keeps out the poor Cambodians from site seeing.
