Usually old businessmen so they stick out easily walking down the streets. I'm guessing this is possible if you are a regular customer and have the $ to spend? From what I've been told Ginza hostess clubs are very expensive and are typically for old businessmen so since I don't speak a word of japanese so it could never happen for me but I'm just curious.

I've been there a few times and the service was so-so and I never needed to ring a bell. If you don't speak Japanese, it might be challenging, I can't say one way or another but if you walk in and speak moderate Japanese, the shop master will welcome you with open arms. My experiences were not bad, not good, just OK and you can't beat the price. Chinese places are hit or miss, mostly miss but it depends on the girl.
