Last night two Indian gentlemen were arguing outside the front door with door staff. I don't believe they came in. Perhaps were being asked to pay something up front (or being denied entry). So there is discrimination. Exactly how the discrimination works or reasons are not clear. Obviously Indians in general are not viewed as desirable. I just walked straight through the front door unchallenged. They would recognise my face and know I have taken a girl plenty of times.

Geronimo (tats and piercings) and also Miss "Soccer ball tits" had been BFed and were leaving with two guys, perhaps as a group, or just coincidence to be leaving exact same time.

I eventually called a new girl to me No. 29 Eun (funny name). When I indicated to the waitress I would her a drink, the girl was not on my lap and spoke to the waitress. I did not hear. The waitress did not look at me to confirm anything, and just headed off. So I knew the two drink scam was on. I needed to chase after the waitress and check. Sure enough the girl had ordered two drinks even though I had tried to signal the waitress just one drink. So I told the waitress she was crap. The waitress said it wasn't her fault, since the girl ordered two drinks. Of course it is. It is clearly up to the customer to order drinks. This does not normally happen to me. I will in future avoid this waitress, also this dancing girl, and also ensure that any girl tells me what she wants to drink and I do the ordering with the waitress. Eun had a pretty face but she blew it. Definitely did not get any chemistry with her.

I can see that this scam is rife with any new customers in the bar but should not be attempted with me. The newbie girl did not know me though.

I observed two Asian guys sitting with drinks but no Bill container. One waitress asked them what was happening most likely, but the communication against loud music was not working. Could be that the waitress and the customers all spoke weak English. I presume the two guys had paid their bill, but were intending to finish their drinks before leaving. Their beers were only half consumed. This is unusual. Normally the bar expects people to pay their bill at the end of stay, and leave after receiving change. However from a customer point of view, it can be annoying if have to wait a long time for the change which has occasionally happened, when bar very busy.

So yes, there are problems in this bar. I will still go there, because I have 3 favorite girls still working there sometimes. It is believed that Crazy House are taking over the Old Dutch lease when it expires. This means they will be expanding into there, perhaps hoping to rival Bacarra for business levels. They will probably need two dancing stages downstairs so not sure how well it will work. Also I think Crazy House has been declining for last 2 to 3 years, so will they have enough business to support the expansion.

Naam used to be No. 54 is back dancing with a new number (72 or 73 I think) and with big sillies, not dancing nude any more. I have lost interest in her. She preferred Koreans anyway. All the numbers 71,72 , 73 75 seems to be new girls or old girls returning. One of the old girls used to have a good body but protruding ears. Now has hair covering the ears so looks very different. Also now sporting a belly scar from navel downward making an extended landing strip. So I guess probably had a baby most likely, although I don't see that the tits are saggy at all so maybe some other problem. It is such a long time since I tried a new girl at CH. I was getting ready to walk over and pay the difference myself, when a policeman showed up and I thought better of getting involved at all. I haven't been enough to understand what might be perceived as an offensive gesture, but geez.

Haggling is one thing, but being a cheap ass for no reason is just annoying.

It's been clarified many times on this forum over the years. Indians, Arabs, and Blacks (non American) are not allowed in many of the gogos because the gogos have had so many problems with those type of people in the past that they prefer not to allow them in. There are detailed stories posted on this forum in the past documenting examples of the problems the bar owners/girls have had. I am not saying it's right for them to use that "members only" line and not allow certain guys in, but I do understand why they do it. It's pretty clear.

It's not just Thailand, the same applies in Indonesia in some circumstances with those same 3 ethnic groups. Taxi drivers in Indonesia prefer not to pick Indians, Arabs or Blacks up simply because many times they are not polite or refuse to pay the fare on the meter.

And for sure it's not racism because American Blacks are welcomed (if they know he is American). It's African blacks they don't want. They also gladly allow Indians or Arabs into any club if accompanied by a white or asian guy because they find those type of guys have been exposed to different cultures so they are not as culturally challenged and thus won't cause them problems.

The problem can be rectified passively by allowing them to save face. Don't accuse them of being liars or having a bad memory (stupid). Instead, better to always agree on a price ahead of time. And yes, I negotiate with people in third world countries all the time. It's not my fault that their country is poor. That's not on me. I pay the market rate, not 2 x the market rate. I'll pay 1. 2 x or 1. 4 x for the falang tax, but I prefer to pay the normal rate. I think people who have free and unrestrained sympathy for random poor people are just weak. They'll think you are weak too and gladly take your money and have no respect for you either.

I then asked how much, expecting him to say 40 baht, since that is what a taxi would have cost (but be a bit slowed by traffic). I was shocked when he said 80 Baht. It is already a rip off when they charge 60 Baht to go from Soi 4 to Cowboy, and this was somewhat less. It was late with light traffic too. When I go from Sukhumvit to Seacon Square, that is 5 km though back Sois heavy traffic and costs about 90 Baht, probably less for Thai customers. Metered Taxi from Soi 23 to Soi 85, again at least late at night is normally 80 Baht in traffic, sometimes only 65 Baht in light traffic. More than 5 km.

I said no way, and gave him 50. He did not argue at all. Just accepted it was fair. I could not have paid much more without going to 7 Eleven to change a 1000 Baht note. I agree with Parkville that I can accept slightly over the Thai price. Tuk Tuk drivers are largely scammers, so not unexpected for customers to be arguing with them about the price. I almost never go by Tuk Tuk, unless there is really not viable alternative. Even then you have to know what is a fair price and agree to it. Not worthwhile to get involved in other people's problems, when it is over such trivial things, especially in Thailand. No one will help you, in this situation.

I normally pay when getting ripped off to avoid big trouble, if amount is not too serious. However in my early days, 25 years ago, I refused to pay when a bar in Pat Pong tried to rip me off (despite signs saying no cover charge). My buddy who spoke Thai fluently had left already, leaving me with the bill and the hassle. LOL I was allowed to leave, when I stood my ground to pay for the drinks only, but don't know if it could have gone bad. I was not going to pay for shows that were ugly and I had no interest in whatsoever. They would have noticed I paid no attention to the shows. The argument was so silly. I indicated that their doormen have the signs indicating no charge for shows, no cover charge. They asked what was the badge number of the guys, since they have no employees working at the door. LOL Laughable bullshit, and I did laugh for sure no matter how serious they tried to look. That I spoke some limited Thai, possibly suggested I was very experienced here, when actually I wasn't.

I welcomed them to call the police, if they wanted to, probably a bad idea as they could come up with crooked police. Better to have your own tourist police contacts to call. Pat Pong did have a Tourist Police booth in those days.

Considering one of those motorbikes costs about 5 percent of what a car costs, their price should be drastically lower than a taxi.

For motorbikes and tuk tuks, it's the consistency in pricing that drives me crazy but, As Syzy mentioned, if you confidently pay a fair price they won't balk since they realize you know what the going rate is. I guess same applies to girls too.

It's why I love the baht buses in Pattaya. You know it's 10 baht and you can get a pretty nice little tour just sitting on one.

Felt like doing a Go Go last night so headed to Soi Cowboy. First I checked out Baccara but it was jammed with Japanese customers and no chairs. Again the same blank look and turning away. I lost my temper at this point and went back to the manager. He was furious with the server and demanded her to get the lady off the stage. I immediately ordered 5 shots for her and 2 more beers for me. This girl is number 25. Spinner with big tits, 26 years old. We danced and flirted until I barfined her. Barfine is now 700 for short time and 1000 for LT. I did short time at a local ST hotel off of Soi 4 just after Hillary 4, you turn left. I am of Indian origin, living in New York, I was stopped outside Ch and asked for an ID, I was with a girl in spite of that, I asked him why to which he said India, I showed him my New York drivers license and told him to take a flying fuck, I walked away and told him I will not enter a disrespectful bar like yours, don't know if that really mattered to him, however I can ensure he lost out on a lot of business that day and still is doing so.
