Back to posting reports. I'm sure a lot of you have heard stories about the massage joint at "New World Hotel". Here's my update. Been to the massage joint twice. 1st time I went up to the 3rd floor? or was it the 6th floor? Anyway the massage joint "inside" the hotel premises. The massage was way more expensive than most joints (kinda expected that I suppose). Girl comes in, dissappointed in looks, figure and size. She was quite ... tall ... a little big (not fat, but big). On the plus side, she spoke a good amount of english. "Special Hand" massage cost VND500g!!! I told her, I can get a gorgeous girl for a ST in HCM for that amount, and a LT (decent looking girl) in my province (where I work). She asked, I offered. VND120g (and that is still mega rip I know, but I am still working my price down, takes awhile). End up, she wanted VND300g minimum, amazingly, my pocket won the fight compared to my "fella". Told her nicely, sorry I'm so poor, I cannot afford a HJ, ha ha. And left it as it was.
Overall, pretty dissappointed, but not to be dettered by 1 visit. I went again. This time, to the "other" massage joint in New World, next to the pokies. Girls were a little prettier, but still nothing to shout about. Again damn expensive, and a HJ is a HJ right? Could not negotiate lower than VND200g, and again I decided to opt out. But the girl did give me her phone number, wanted me to call her for a night cap. (can't imagine what the price will be).
Bottom line is New World is not as great as it seems, for some who has been to much cheaper places, but just as decent, and some even better. The price is just not worth the trip, the girls are average, most people misunderstand and say they are like models. Yes, Model height, but not looks. I don't get off better with a tall girl wanking me compared to a petite girl. Its the service that counts. Imagine a girl who expects VND500g, we pay her 20%, she is only gonna give you about 20% effort. James, you are right the New World Sauna beside the Catwalk bar is expensive. I like it though because it is really a clean establishment. Really great marbled floors with top class hot and cold jacuzzi. Clean rooms, sheets, towels, etc. They will give you a photo album and you can choose the girl that will give you a massage. I did not request anything special because I know the most they can give you is a HJ in that joint. And I feel $20 is too much to pay for a HJ.
Anyway, my story. Went to ALEEZ BOO, a popular watering hole across the park from New World. At night this park is filled up with couples dating. Sitting on their motorbikes, or on the grass., park benches, hugging, smooching. Nice sight to see that its the same all over the world. She was dressed simple and casual so the hotel people did not ask when we went to the elevators. Maybe I was just lucky. in New World, I notice the hotel people questioning the girl if she is dressed liked a ****, when she goes to the elevators. In my room we chat a bit. I knewI do not have much time so held her hand. She smiled which was like the green light. She was 21, had a great body, really cute face. She was not tall, probably 1.60. After the Saloon 17, they dragged me to some bar they knew would stay open until 2am, and they had already reserved a table ahead of time by paying for 3 bottles of VSOP REMY. Each bottle was about $70USD. I told them I didn't bring enough cash with me, and they told me to hush, cause it was all paid for. I got quite drunk, and met more of their friends, and these women were a lot of fun. They wanted to stay out all night, and the group wanted me to take the ex-singer home to fuck. Had to work next day, so passed. Got their numbers, and they kept calling and calling me.
Seemed like I was with the rich and famous of Vietnam. Was a lot of fun until I told them a second evening that I did not want to go out with them. They gave me an ultimatum to go out with them or never hear from them again. Since work is just as important as pussy, I let it pass, and haven't heard from them since. Very interesting people.
2) Various bars, great to pick up women that are in groups that don't mention any form of money up front, who don't seem like callgirls. They really love Vietkieu!!! Speak the language, and you will quickly find out Vietnamese women love to talk dirty just shortly after meeting them.

I regularly go to Ho Chi Min with and without the Missus who is Vnese. You have to be careful when you are at the top hotels especially New World with taking Vnese girls in there. They don;t assume they are you GF/Wife. I had to produce a copy of my marriage Certificate to be allowed to stay in the same room. If you meet a girl you want to take to your room best do it during the day or early evening. Other girls I have met there have just said what floor are you on etc and found their own way up. I have only ever had a problem at the New World the rest don't seem to mind as long as you walk confidently in and straight to your room.

All those people of stays in the fancy hotels for over $100/day, I just don't get it. Not unless the company pays for it, why stay there. There are many hotels at $20-40/day that are just as good but you get way better service.
These places are clean. Marble floors and better bathroom than some motel or hotels over here. They have AC, cable and all the things you would want for 1/4 the cost. All the money you saved, you can put toward you know what..
I have tapes of my experiences so maybe if I get to know you enough, I will share it with you. But I will throw this out.
My trip back in 08/03, was one of my best ever. I went to this Karoke bar at Spaceship. Hooked up with this girl there, maybe an 7 in looks and body. Recently had the chance to visit the infamous 74B bar on Hai Ba Trung.
First thing you notice is there is hardly any lighting at all. (Guess that way, you won't know what the girl looks like). Been in Saigon for the past three days. Hot and humid as hell! Food is good and plenty of girls but my action has been very limited. The first night we went to spaceship and the place is pretty dead. I will be visiting Vietnam for the first time July 21, for 4 days only arriving by ship in Halong Bay, ship has arranged a bus to take passengers (non-mongers majority) to Hanoi, where we can either (a) stay and then return to the ship , using the ship as our base (b) stay in Hanoi, (c) stay in Hanoi maybe that day and get up the next day and fly to Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon.
About 10/12 years ago approx a friend went and stayed in Ho Chi Minh city and recommended a place called The Hawaii Hotel run by a Hawaiin Vietname person, I am wondering if this place is still open.
This person also visited and I believe stayed at the Rex Hotel which I believe there still is a "Rex Hotel" and they said that they felt the Rex was a bit expensive but had some decent girls at therer Disco Dance Club- and am wondering on anyones experiences here.
Some of the group is planning on staying at the Majestic Hotel and would appreciate any imput on this place/ good /bad or indifferent and as to its location to potential monger situations.
To other places that were recommended to me were the Caravelle Hotel which I found " a Caravelle Hotel still renting rooms on Expedia.com" and the Palace Hotel.
I don't have to stay with the group necessarily but would want to prebook my rooms as I don't speak the language, etc and do have to be back on ship at end of fourth day meaning I have to fly back to Hanoi from HCMC.
I am also considering a trip from HCMC to Ankor Watt, Cambodia with 2 days is this including travel time back and fourth from HCMC to Ankor Watt is this to much of a rush.

I would recommend a hotel on Le Thanh Ton. Either All Asia Hotel or Dai Loc I think. They are next to each other. Very friendly..They know what's up. You bring a girl back, they will ask for the girls ID to protect you. When the girl leaves in the morning, they can't go until the front desk call you to make sure everything is ok before they let the girl have her ID back. That is a plus. No need for extra room here.
These hotels are a lot cheaper than Caravelle and the other fancy hotels that would cost you over $100/night.
As for SW, last time I saw some on Hai Ba Trung street. But these are risky. I rather go to the Karoke bars or clubs since they force these girls to get tests once a month. A little safer.

Watch out for the Caravelle Hotel
It may have changed but it was a pain in the arse for girls. Not only did they want you to take a second room but, if they felt that the second room was for the cutie that you have just found they might even refuse entry. Girls from the top floor bar could get to the rooms from above (if you were prepared to pay the price).
It may have changed but it is worth checking before hand. I ended up in some crazy short-time hotel which worked fine although there was a slight feeling of 'uneasiness'. This two years ago so perhaps all has relaxed by now but I still hear that some of the hotels are not all that cooperative - getting them there and then being refused entry is a double disaster!
